psp-100X= all are hackable regardless of firmware with the use of PANDORA. psp-200X= old ones are fully hackable with pandora(3.95 and below) and new ones are semi-hackable if ur firmware is 5.03 or lower psp-300X= all are semi-hackable unless ur firmware is above 5.03 psp-GO = you cant hack these as of yet at all... TA-088v3 & PSP3000 - FAQ Ok I created because I have seen threads created every other day asking whether the PSP 3000 or the TA-88v3 motherboard had been hacked yet so I decided to create this thread. Please feel free to post new questions I should add. 1. Has the PSP 3000 been hacked yet? YES, with 5.03 official firmware + chickHEN-R2 + "CFW 5.03GEN-A for HEN" or "CFWEnabler3.60" = temporary custom firmware including the use of iso/cso/ps1/homebrew plus much more! 2. Has the PSP 2000 with the TA-88v3 Motherboard been hacked yet? YES, with 5.03 official firmware + chickHEN-R2 + CFWEnabler3.60 = temporary custom firmware including the use of iso/cso/ps1/homebrew plus much more! 3. What PSPs are currently hackable? All the PSP 1000s also known as the PSP Phats are hackable with PANDORA battery and magic memcard regardless of firmware. All the PSP 2000s or slims are hackable(with PANDORA) except the ones with the TA-88v3 Motherboard(but with 5.03 official firmware + chickHEN-R2 + CFWEnabler3.60 = temporary custom firmware including the use of iso/cso/ps1/homebrew plus much more!.) All the PSP 3000s with 5.03 firmware or lower (5.03 official firmware + chickHEN-R2 + "CFW 5.03GEN-A for HEN" or "CFWEnabler3.60"= temporary custom firmware including the use of iso/cso/ps1/homebrew plus much more!) 4 What PSP model do I have? Ok with this as with the region you have you have to check the sticker at the bottom there at then end you will find one of the following: PSP-100X This is the first PSP model the Phat PSP-200X This is the second model the PSP Slim PSP-300X This is the third and most recent model also known as the PSP Brite 5. What region is my PSP? For this you have to look for the number at the end of the serial code I guess its called at the sticker at the bottom. It should be something like 100?, 200?, or 300?. Look at the last number. The last number refers to the region it belongs to. So basically look at the last number and compare it to this. psp-100X x=region of psp (usa,japan,eur, etc.) same for psp-200X and psp-300X PSP-1000-Japan PSP-1001-US/North America PSP-1002-Austrila/New Zealand PSP-1003-UK PSP-1004-Europe PSP-1005-Korea PSP-1006-Hong Kong/Singapore PSP-1007-Taiwan PSP-1008-Russia PSP-1009-China Thanks ilostchild for the info! 6. What is a Magic Memory Stick MMS? Here's the definition from the PSP Dictionary Citar: Magic Memory Stick: (MMS) An Memory Stick with the necessary files to boot with a JigKick Battery. More in depth its a memory stick with the necessary files and formatted in a way which with a jigkick battery it can be used to install CFW on most PSPs. I hope it's cool to post to this sticky;
The blue lines at the end are hard on my eyes. Might want to mention that tall box systems, have a different label. Mine had the serial AB01238 etc, and that is the same serial on the bottom (when screen is on side) of the unit. From what I've gathered, AB01's are hackable while half of AB02's are not. I won't be able to confirm whether or not mine is hackable for three to five business days. My unit; AB01 238 - OFW 3.80 - Slim Line 2001 I figure it might be a good idea to make a FW list like that one. |

I was just saying that, since tall boxes have a different code on their boxes, it might be a good idea to have a second way to identify the unit before it's bought.
I had no clue what OFW was on the unit till I opened the box and turned the unit on. Need a way to tell others what to look for. |

very good thread. half of the newbies will approciate this, but the other half will not even try to find it, even when it is at the top. that's why we are full of 3000 hackable threads here.
but, good guide! |
