The total price including a 16gb card would run a little over $100, but I've seen a mod over at Acidmods that does the same as the SD to microSD adapter so if you're any good at soldering it would probably only cost you about $70 - $80. No, the microSDHC cards are a little more than half the price of Pro Duos, and the regular SDHC ones are even cheaper still.
Going by Newegg it's: 8gb Pro Duo $80.00 with shipping 8gb microSDHC $53.00 with shipping 8gb SDHC $32.50 with shipping 16gb SDHC $64.00 with shipping Big price difference between them all.

The over all speed seems to vary depending on the microSD to Pro Duo adapter, rather than the cards themselves. The one I've got seems a little faster than the sony Pro Duo sticks, and I had no trouble running videos and ISOs off it.

hmmmm idk about faster than a pro duo because speed seems to be limited by the psp not card or adapter ive done many tests pro duos run faster in other devices that allow it like high speed cameras but none the less sd with the adapter will be slightly slower but its such a slight difference that i never notice durring game play G.O.W runs fine with me playing music in back ground on irshell so speed is not an issue at all with a sd card

I meant faster than the old sony sticks, not as fast as say the sandisk ones.
I didn't test them on anything else but the PSP though.

I had this idea a while a go but went the wrong way about it, I got a micro SD to Pro Duo adapter from hong kong, it failed miserably, none of the iso's showed up when I turned my psp on. Luckily it only cost about a dollar and the SD card I tested was a 1 gig I already had lying around, but if the way you guys do it works then Im in cos I'd love to have 16 gigs :bucktooth: I only have an 8 gig pro duo right now that cost me $77 (600 Hong Kong Dollars)

i think coolmods.com still sells them for like 8 bucks just make shure its sdhc compatible ebay also has them.the transcend ones are confirmed to work and the eagle tech ones work.
