To me it is. It's smaller, faster.
The download only feature makes its nice to keep your games/purchass in one place. In Addition, if you have previous PSP models, you can activate those PSPs and download/play all of your purchased games on those as well. The 16GB of memory included is really good. I have a 4GB memory stick for my Slim and I don't put music on it because its a space waster. With the 16GB, I can download games, throw on music as well as videos. The GO! really emphasizes itself as both a PSP and a media device and this is one of the perfect way to do so.

No.
Every transaction is linked to your account. The only way you will be able to play them is if you got the decrypted versions, or activate the PSP while signed into their account to play their games. (Meaning your games bought won't work)

It IS an upgrade, but barely you could get a PSP Slim with a 16 GB memory stick that's practically the same thing. But, if it had 2 analog sticks THAT would be a worth buying upgrade.

If you're worried about that, look on your local Craigslist, go their house, and check the firmware. Or you could just use ChickHen.

You can use the Media Go software to download, backup, and install games onto the psp go, the software also converts videos, and installs music in directory's for you. Also because Media Go can download games off the PSN, this allows you to quickly download multiple things at once like you can on the PS3.
You can also use media go to install games on psp's logged into your PSN "I think the max number of psp's supported on one psn at once is 6?", the software can also install media on older psp's like I can on the go. Personally I like the Go, I just wish it was a little cheaper "200-220 would be great since that's comparable to the zune HD and ipod touch", and I wish there was some more games available like crysis core, Dissidia, MGS, Lumines, and GTA. If sony does indeed bring several more top titles to the PSN like they said, then I will probably ask for a PSP Go this holiday season ![]() Also, am I the only one that has a feeling that Gamestop or even Walmart might feature a PSP Go bonus pack in the black friday blitz? I know it seems to early, but none of my local walmarts have not even got the go in stock yet and its apparent the Go isn't selling very quickly, which are usually 2 factors that lead to a blitz item. |

Online only PSN store games does have some downsides to it.... For instance, with the UMD's you could buy 1 game and share it among the kids you have (including brothers sisters etc)... but now with the PSN store the only place to buy new games, you can't share that game with anyone elses PSP... so instead of being to swap games, especially within a family, you're now going to be expected to buy several copies for everyones individual PSP.
Now before some one says just share your PSP with each other... obviously you're an only child.... sharing and siblings always comes with strings attached... especially when younger brother/sister tends to "accidentally" lose/damage/break/drop/clean-coz-it-got-dirty etc... And also with the amount of scams running the online shopping gauntlet, parents will be wary of purchasing online anyway.... Removing choices and places to purchase games/accessories will no doubt piss some parents off, perhaps to the point of skipping it altogether...... |
