::edit::
this tutorial was written back in the days of 2.71 being the latest firmware, but this will work on all custom firmwares
and psp's with official sony firmware (non homebrew psp's)

in this tutorial i will show you how to set up MytunesRSS. on pc and how to use it on your psp

This software enables you to stream/share music that is stored in your itunes library to any web enabled device, other peoples pc's, psp's whatever

PC instructions

Before extracting the contents of the download decide where abouts on your pc it will go, once its been unzipped it will not work if you move its location!!!!

This is also true for any updates you download, make sure you extract the update zip in the folder where mytunesrss is currently installed

i learned this the hard way and due to that fact i now have a folder called MyTunesRSS_Windows-2 permanently on my desktop!

once uve decided what folder you would like this program to reside in then grab a copy of the software, put it where you will be keeping it, then extract it and run the .exe

first time you use this you must specify a password (this can be changed later) and select the path to youre itunes library.xml, by default this is at \My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music Library.xml

once selected simply click start server and its runnin, feel free to minimize it

now uve got the server running its time to test, open your web browser and goto http://127.0.0.1:8080 and log in, everything should work fine

to log in via a different device simply enter your internet ip instead of 127.0.0.1, or your network ip if your at home

your current internet ip is shown below

if for some reason the ip shown above is incorrect use the one shown on whatismyip.com

PSP instructions

first off you need to be in 2.71 mode, either thru devhook by ejecting the umd and selectin umd disk in devhook (this will just take you to the XMB) or if you are unlucky enough to have a 2.71 just load yer psp to the menu

go to your web broser and in the adress bar type yer netwrok ip or internet ip followed by :8080
example: http://192.168.1.2:8080
this will give you the same login screen as you see on your pc
simply enter your password and browse your tunes
click on the rss feed button next to the playlist you would like to play (or the song) and you will be prompted to add to RSS feed, select yes and then quit the browser going back to the XMB
in the xmb go to RSS feed and select the playlist from there
it will start playing just like its playing an mp3 from yer mem stick ;)

any problems post em below and ill try my best to help

there is also a mac osx version
and a operating system independant one that will work on most os's
click here to download - note this version will make your anti virus/firewall ask for permission to run a script, this is normal so allow always!

Yay, just the tutorial I was looking for. This saved me a lot of time browsing the web for it. Hopefully devhook cracks the new firmware soon and we can have access to the new emulated firmware for video RSS.

It should also be noted if you add songs to your library you should remember to open up the MytunesRSS and go to options and update database.

To prevent useless posts in the tutorial section, only mods can move threads into it. I suspect this one will make its way there soon.

And only seniors, mods, admins can create threads in there.

just something that can confuse ppl, you dont need to use the IP that is shown on that danasoft.com pic, on the program it will say somethign like "Server Running: http://Numbers here" <--- Use that IP

When I try to create the server it says this: "An error has occured. You may be able to keep working but you should save the log file and contact the codewave support" When I click ok it says this: "The server could not be started. Check the log file for errors."

what do I do?

Great idea elboffor.
I found it easy, but then again, DevHook was easy too lol.
But the pic doesn't give the right IP. It says Cogeco when I'm on Sympatico..
And internet explorer when I have firefox.
Weird :/

You should also put a link to whatismyip.com
And add a port forwarding part, for people who want to use it away from home.
Other than that, good job ;)
