What do you guys think about it? The update I mean. With all the people being banned lately, I'm very iffy on if I should update. I have not been banned..obviously, been playing MW2 online alot, a legit retail copy. Also I have left 4 dead 2 payed off, and I hear its wave 5..

Well you're always taking a chance on a modded console. So if you haven't been banned, you're running that fine line. For the most part, I wouldn't update via XBL. Instead, do it manually and you might be able to evade the ban.

Yes sir. It uses some different video encoding or something. I think it has to do with the avatar rewards coming with the big fall update. I've never manually installed a dashboard update, but I really do not want to be banned. So I will do all that I can to stay on xbox live. I don't think my XBOX is flagged, I've only played 2 burned games, and have not played them after I beat them. Arkham Asylum and WET

I wasn't banned until two days ago (already got a new arcade however).
I thought i was in the clear since it seems the majority of people already got banned.

Maybe you people that hack should get two consoles. One for offline (hacked) and another for online, a shitty arcade model would do, but only use it for legit games.

I have a question, can MS tell whether you have been using your HDD on a hacked console? If not then, that would make having two consoles even better since you can play hacked games, keep the saves and stuff all on one HDD.

Not as far as I'm aware but accessing the profile or saves on a banned console will corrupt them and leave you unable to access them on an unbanned console, though they should play fine on the banned one.

So if I go out and buy say an arcade 360, never hook it up to XBL, hack it and play games on it with the same profile I use for online, I won't get banned?
