I have a question in regards to the original xbox. Can the media center run mkv files? If I remember correctly you can use Splinter Cell as an exploit right? I ran into a free copy of Splinter Cell and I have a buddy who wants his original modded. Is it there a good guide someone can link me to?

Can you run the original xbox in HD? If so would I have to get another cable?

You don't even need a cable to do it other that IDE.

No Splinter Cell bullshit. Just hotswap. I've done tons of original XBOX modding.

Yes, XBMC plays mkv. Some stutter, in my experiences, but you can convert to .ts (painless transition) and they work fine. The file that stuttered for me was an mkv that was almost 3GB in size, and had multiple audio tracks. 4, I think.

Here is a tutorial that I used to mod my first XBOX. No parts or tools needed other than Torx bits to get in the box and take the HD out of the plastic holder.

Fucking EASY. All you have to do is get your eeprom and hddinfo to upgrade to a larger HD. Its really easy, man. You'll be done in 30 minutes max.

We do, I would be pretty happy if my thread was stickied. Also, the people here have hacked everything from the oldest xbox to the newest hackable 360.

Lol, I've hacked an N64. Put a Flashcard/CDROM in it. Same with a Genesis. Flash cart.

Oops. Typo. My psp has a 4GB in it. 64 had a CDROM, If I'm not mistaken.
