Default iPhone 3G - just help?

OKay, my birthday is exactly in one month, and I have been having my eye on thing, I don't why but its the iPhone 3G. The thing is that I am with T-Mobile. Now I heard stuff about the iPhone being jailbroken or w/e its called and it works with T-Mobile, but I haven't gone into detail, and obviously who doesn't want 3G service. Can the iPhone 3G work with a T-Mobile service? And will it have that service where you can access the Internet through the satellite or w/e.

If you want the 3G you are forced into a contract with AT&T. The only way you can get it without the contract is buying it outright and apparently that costs alot of money. I also heard that If you get the contract and cancel before the first month they also take your phone back. You might wanna check with iphone-hacks for more info.

I think there is a way to hardware unlock the iPhone 3G, but for right now there is no software unlock. I just sold my 1st generation 8gig yesterday so I could replace it with the 16gig 3G. Whenever I took my SIM card to the AT&T store yesterday, they said that I couldn't use my PYP iPhone plan on the 3G, it has to be a contract, and if I wanted to pay for the phone, I would have to pay upwards of 700 bucks. Fuck that. Stick to a 1st gen, 3G is nothing special.

Unless u get it on ebay in which u will pay the 700 and up price. tmobile doent have 3g yet i think but it might be out now or should be available vary soon.

It won't work yet. The 3G hasn't been unlocked, so you're stuck with AT&T. What you can do is buy a 1st Generation iPhone which CAN be unclocked and use that with T-Mobile

Fuck getting a contract, I'd rather stick to paying 40 bucks a month for what people on contracts are paying 70-80 bucks a month for.

like all phones that cannot be unlocked, you always have the possibility of using a sim adapter. they run about $30 on ebay, but it will work.
but always read reviews of the phone before you buy it.
the iphone 3g is the most over hyped under feature phone on the market.
