Oh my lock this one right? :P

ISO & ROMS:
Why not embrace them? It is illegal to host them (which you would not be doing) but not to provide links to them or to discuss them in the open (it is only illegal to host and download them which is irrelevant). You are greatly limiting your audience by instating unnecessary rules.

To have a site about hacking psp and to have no discussion about iso and roms seem like blasphemy. More users would come here, I’m sure, if rom & iso discussion was permitted (I know that’s why there are more users at pspcrazy ;) ).

Not if you oppose this then be sure you state your reason.
This is merly an idea to help improve the site of course :D

I know this old, but I'd like to say my piece anyway.

The legality or otherwise of linking to Rom sites misses the whole point. No one is going to sue psp-hacks. Won't happen.

What might happen is, google pulls its ads, and then we get a whole lot of whiny posts about "psp-hacks needs money! Donate through paypal!", and the site quality declines because there's not enough money to pay for decent server etc.

Or, the server pulls the site at the request of someone, and while you spend three or four weeks convincing them you're not doing anything illegal your users all disappear.

I've seen both of these happen to sites I love, and it would suck if it happened here. I actually kind of like the fact that we can't link to rom sites; I think it lifts the tone of the site and makes it more about actual hacking rather than just a free-for-all piracy website. Don't kid yourselves - if we allowed links to be posted they would soon dominate the site. It wouldn't be a little section in the bottom of the forums.

No links to Roms also allows more attention to be given to homebrew games, which is a good thing. Any support for legitimate uses of cfw is positive in my opinion.

And finally, for fucks sake, if you can't find the rom sites without someone cut and pasting a link for you you are too stupid to be on the internets, and you deserve to pay $100 a game for the rest of your life.

So basically, we do our thing -hacking -, they do theirs -(il?)legal downloads -and I don't see any good reason to change that.

I personally don't think their is a need to link to iso's and cso's on this forum

I spend most of my time in PSP-hacks game section of the forum and i try to give psp-hack members information on the latest psp scene releases and if i'm not online someone else will be kind enough to post info on the new games ... just paste the filename from the posts into google you will easily find the iso that you are looking for .
If the file did not hit your fave download site yet be patient these files take a little while to spread over the P2P networks .
If you are looking for torrents , sign up to some private trackers because they normally get the files a lot quicker than open trackers and have better seeder to leecher ratios.
If you have free access to newsgroup servers from your ISP use them... it's a nice fast way to get the latest releases
If you want direct downloads ( RS , MU etc etc ) google around for sites that post links ... they are not hard to find .

For me this is the best PSP site available on the net and i have signed up to many in the past and i think the site would go rapidly downhill if people are begging for links to the latest releases every day

It's not hard to find these games but for me the search is part of the fun .
Happy Hunting

I think it should be okay the have links to roms but no iso's, the rule should be if the system uses cartridges and isn't made anymore then it should be ok the link to roms.

Rules are rules, its as simple as that.
Copyright laws differ from country to country, therefore, to play it safe this site has a policy of not allowing links to illegal/pirated material of ANY kind.
and as said above, if u cant use Google and find them urself, u dont deserve to have them.
The Internet has everything there is piracy wise, if u cant find it then too bad, there is no reason for ppl to come here and get spoonfed when they can get it for themselves from hundreds of other sites.
This is a hacking forum, with members devoted to helping others enjoy the benifits of unlocking there psps and using homebrew apps, this is NOT a place to get ur illegal games and whatnot, for that u have Google, use it.

Don't mean to be a pain in the arse, i know this site is for hacking, but psp-hacks.com can only get sued acording to the country / state the website is hosted in. doesnt matter what any other countries laws are..... ie, Toronto
