Hi Homebrewers!!!

I am ROCAMATICS (previously know as CHAPACO) and this is my first PSP homebrew!! I'm introducing for first time this app (GUITARBOX) for the PSP-Hacks 2007 Homebrew Contest (http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=76672).

GuitarBOX is a GUITAR REAL TIME EFFECTS PROCESSOR (a.k.a. MultiFx Processor). Althought is main purpose is to process a guitar signal, you can use it with any electric instrument, even a single standard PC MIC!!!.

You can download it from http://www.sendspace.com/file/iqi9dq

By now, it contains the following (REAL TIME, very low latency) effects:

- Noise Suppresor
- Phaser
- Distortion (overdrive type)
- Delay
- Equalizer (3-band)

In order to start using this multifx unit you need:

- An Electric/Acoustic Guitar (or any electric instrument, even a Microphone)
- The audio connection described in any of these:

http://community.hackingpsp.com/foru...PrintPost.aspx
http://psphacking101.com/node/20 (video)

DONT BE AFRAID TO BUILD THIS CONNECTOR!!!, is very cheap and easy to make!!!.

- ..and headphones (or speakers).

Just plug the instrument or mic in the PSP using the home-made audio connector, start GuitarBox from XMB and you will be ROCKING!!!.
I've tested it with 1.50 (kxploit) and works fine.

For the future releases I'd like to add:

- A REAL Guitar Tuner
- Recording Capabilities (like audio mechanica!)
- Flanger, Chorus, Tube Screamer, Pitch Shifter and Auto Wah!!!
- Less latency!!!!!!!!!!!

I think audio is a VERY INTERESTING area of reasearch for the PSP given its processor and audio capabilities. Soon I'll post my website to track all this, meanwhile let's use the wonderful forums provided by the community.

BTW, I'm from Tarija - Bolivia, South America!!! Hope to have your comments to rocamatics at gmail.com.

Long life to the PSP-Homebrew!!! THX Dark Alex!!!.

Looks interesting. When you hook up your guitar to this, does the sound come through the PSP, or is there a way to have the sound output through a pair of speakers or something?

Hi. I'm Joel from QJ.NET

What an awesome application, the idea is fricken great! However one question, How do you intend to reduce the latency further on this application?

anyway, Cheers for the great release!

Well, i finally got around to road testing this application and i have to say, i was more then happy with the end result! some cool effects, if you guys want i can take some videos of the program in action, its pretty sweet!

Hearing the clicking sound, did you use the Audio Mechanica source?

Yes!

A video of this app working would be great to show people without the audio connection exactly whats this app does,
