Hey Zinga, I have a bunch of uncompressed EBOOTs among the compressed ones but i cant differentiate between the two. Could you implement a way of figuring out their status, without having to try to randomly recompress them and hope that they actually get compressed.
What I painfully do right now as the alternative, is to extract the ISO and compare it to the Eboot.

I'm not sure if there actually is a compression flag anywhere, unfortunately...
Only way would be to guess if the size is right.

Sorry.

No one has posted in this topic for weeks, so I'll post my question elsewhere too... but...

When turning PSX images into eboots...

My question is this: Is there any reason *not* to have compression set at 9? Such as a reduction in speed or graphics?

Just wondering what the downfalls of having smaller eboots were... if any...

Otherwise, I see no reason not to have compression at 9 always.

Save me from my Stupidity!

Hello, I am in dire need of assistance at this point. I have been watching this site for a long time but I only have recently become a member and registered.

I have followed your simple instructions first with one of your older versions of Popstation and some img files I downloaded of Thepiratebay. I loaded the Eboots and Key files into my PSP under MSRoot/Game/FinalFantasy to no avail. First I did this with Final Fantasy tactics and after this failed I attempted with Final Fantasy IX. Each time it would boot the PSX logo and continue to the black screen which would hold for about 20 seconds and then come up with an error message that said "Cannot load game (80000004). My next objective was to try to fix this, so I downloaded the 3.00 version and attempted again with the same results. I am currently on 3.40 - OE firmware. My next thought was that perhaps the IMG files were corrupt, so I pulled out the games I had (Yes, still Final Fantasy tactics and IX, I only downloaded because I was to lazy to find the discs.) I copied with Alcohol 120% and restarted Popstation and attempted it again with the same results on my image files.

I am completely at a loss, I have seen some mentions of this error message in the tread but no answers. Could you please help me? The only other thing I can think of is the firmware but I have not heard of any problems relating to this.

Last note, I have read through out the thread looking for an answer and read everyone's success stories and wanted to say that even if I fail at achieving this one task (which I really want to finish) that I want to thank you for the application you wrote. If it works as well as I have read you have done a very good job and before you say anything, Thank you very much.

Sorry for replying so late.

Um, I can't really help, sorry. Basically, that's a weird error I don't think anyone has really resolved. You can try different firmware versions to see if that helps I guess...

500MB sounds about right. If you only have 20MB free space, obviously it ain't gonna fit on your memstick...
