The PSP's flash contains numerous RCO files (localized resources)
in the flash0:/vsh/resource folder. These files contain various
things such as icons, sounds, text and so on, which the PSP uses to
display the XMB interface.
RCO Editor is what its name implies. Currently almost all of the
RCO can be edited in RCO Editor. Some example uses:
- replace icons
- replace sounds - support for both stereo and mono sounds
- replace text (longer text is supported)
- modify some page data

NOTE, THIS WILL _ONLY_ WORK WITH DECRYPTED RCOs! (FW2.50 or 2.60 is
prefered)

NOTES:
- I'm too lazy to implement much validation, so it's a bit unstable - don't try to be smart with it - you probably will be able to crash it easily
- ONLY use DECRYPTED RCOs (get them from the FW2.50 dump)
- Using FW 2.60 or earlier RCOs on higher firmware may cause
glitches, such as icons not appearing to semi-bricking (eg using a
FW2.50 topmenu_plugin.rco on FW3.1x).

Here's an example of the battery icon replaced in system_plugin_fg.rco:

You can get the the custom system_plugin_fg.rco here.

Another example is that the coldboot/gameboot branding can also be changed! :D
You can get the the custom opening_plugin.rco here.

Extra long text:

Okay, that out of the way:
Download v1.13 Here
Mirrors: See here

I hope you guys find it useful :)
Oh, BTW, this program can also handle OMG and VAG resources - this means that you can actually use large VAG files (IIRC, previous limit was ~97KB), though it's kinda pointless cause the PSP only plays 4 second bootsounds

(On a side note, yes, screwing around with the RCO and MIG format is a lot more interesting than touching up my Popstation GUI :))

Not really. Actually I was wondering what the system_plugin_fg.rco contained, since the "bg" one contained the wave info. After a lot of playing around, I found that it contained various icons etc etc. Yeah, and this eventually lead me onto this project. :)

Heyiiiii

Well i did not read the post but i was wandering for some time about the fact if it is posible to toggle the clock and battery icon in the upper right corner of the XMB??
Maybe a key combination to show/not show the icon?

Could very well be this already is out here somewhere on PSP-hacks but i am asking anyway.

:)

^^Nah, can't really do that :|

Oh, has anyone tried this program? Was wondering how well it worked, considering I've only tested this on a few RCOs.
