PSP Slim FW3.6 Help

Looking for some help.

I am trying to help a mate he has got a psp slim with fw3.6 and this is the first time i have ever seen 1 never mind trying to sort his firmware.

I have had a read through the forums and found alot of different tutorials.

Could someone please be kind and point me in the direction of the easiest as i dont wanna damage it in any way as it isnt mine.
