PSP PHAT Mod without modding

Hello world of psp hacking, The reason that I am posting is because I would like to bring to your attention a number of possible mods for those old dusty psp phats. The mods could be used without ever having to crack the case. So anyway my idea is that it may be possible to mod the old plug in remote that came with the original psp 1000s. The mods could be anything from a guitar neck to an external 2nd nub. The plug in remote has 5 buttons + the hold button, which could act as a 5 button guitar neck or a 2nd nub. I'm no programmer but I think it could be done with some registry hacks. I don't know if it's of concern but the remote only works when the psp is playing a video. I would like some input, and if you're a programmer please don't shoot me down too badly if I'm wrong.
