Modifying the PRXs on the 3.52 side (KN) and making a mistake, I don't believe will result in a full brick, as the recovery.prx is in the KD folder, not KN. You should still be able to access recovery.

Modifying files on the 1.50 side (KD) is something you want to be extremely careful and cautious doing. Flashing the files improperly, or inadvertently deleting files from KD, will result in a full brick.

Yeap. In fact, I suggest not touching the /kd or /vsh/module folders at all.
/kn and /vsh/nodule can be completely deleted (I don't advise it) and all you'll get is a semi-brick.

Depends on your aim. If you just want to provide information, then it's fine.

Not a bad list BTW.

Compressed means it's a little smaller.

Actually, "compressing" an RCO only compresses the header. RCO Editor automatically compresses images when replaced. I was just too lazy to write a header compression routine.

Apart from the smaller size, there isn't much difference.

Tell you what, don't start a thread yet, i'll get dumps from all the possibl custom firmwares and set them up like this:
XMB Icons - topmenu_plugin.rco
Backgrounds - 01-12.bmp

In .ZIP folders from the links setup like this:

TOPMENU_PLUGIN.RCO => 1.50 => Encrypted => topmenu_plugin.rco
=> Decrypted => topmenu_plugin.rco

=> 2.71 => Encrypted =>topmenu_plugin.rco
=> Decrypted => topmenu_plugin.rco

=> 3.01 => Encrypted =>topmenu_plugin.rco
=> Dcrypted => topmenu_plugin.rco

=> 3.02 => Encrypted => topmenu_plugin.rco
=> Decrypted => topmenu_plugin.rco

=> 3.03 => Encrypted => topmenu_plugin.rco
=> Decrypted => topmenu_plugin.rco

=> 3.10 => Encrypted => topmenu_plugin.rco
=> Decrypted => topmenu_plugin.rco

=> 3.30 => Encrypted => topmenu_plugin.rco
=> Decrypted => topmenu_plugin.rco

=> 3.40 => Encrypted => topmenu_plugin.rco
=> Decrypted => topmenu_plugin.rco

=> 3.51 => Encrypted => topmenu_plugin.rco
=> Decrypted => topmenu_plugin.rco

=> 3.52 => Encrypted => topmenu_plugin.rco
=> Decrypted => topmenu_plugin.rco

They've got to stickie something with that much work in it but it will be very good for reference.

What do you think?
