Okay, I followed every exact step. E.g. I have just upgraded my PSP 3000`s firmware from 4.20 to 5.03. After that, I`ve installed ChickHEN R2 and ran it without any problem. When in ChickHEN, I plugged the USB and extracted GEN 5.03 files to the PSP.

Unplugged the USB cable, then ran INSTALLER-LOADER, flashed the firmware and then when I press Circle, the PSP just shuts down. Why? I've tried many times and the same problem is still happening. What did I do wrong? Does this mean that the custom firmware is not properly installed?

EDIT- I formatted the card, downloaded and re-placed ChickHEN R2 and GEN 5.03 from a different source (not psp-hacks). I still get the same problem after pressing the Circle button...

EDIT2- after trying out some stuff hoping for a fix to this problem. According to the README file for 5.03GEN, it says that I can remove the 'files' folder in the root area of my MC after presumably installing the custom firmware. I have just done that about two minutes ago; removed the folder, and then I ran the INSTALLER-LOADER app and then it says some files are missing "aborting". What does this mean? Why would the README file say that when you cannot function via the app? Does this mean that the custom firmware is not properly installed... ? I swore that I have clicked R flashing the firmware and the screen says success...

I got a Psp 2000 is (ice silver) last november and it had 4.01 ofw and couldnt not be pandora'ed. So im 99.99% sure its a ta088v3 mobo. now with hen and cfw for it available i have a couple of queries regarding it.

1. How do i upgrade to ofw 5.03 from 4.01 for ChickHenR2 without directly connecting via my psp and avoiding a 5.05 upgrade.

2. some sources say 5.03Gen-A is safe for ta088v3 while others like this forum first post says its not and i should go with CFWenabler (3.01 latest if im not wrong). currently i dont have any hen or cfw running on my psp.

3. some posts say installing CFWenabler is like burning the bridge for 5.03Gen-A as it could never be installed after CFWenabler. but can i still install CFWenabler after trying 5.03Gen-A?

4. Does 5.03Gen-A work on ta088v3 mobo since it seems safer than CFWenabler (keeping above reason in mind)?

thanks for the reply in advance i cant wait to install cfw on my psp anylonger...been waiting 8 months as it is!!

... CFW Enabler is more safer than Gen-A ... at least they are still updating and their graphic and support is more better ...

VIRUS ALERT!

I downloaded the ZIP file from this thread, and when I tried to extract the files, my Avira Antivirus program detected the psp-cfw.exe as a TR/Dropper.Gen Trojan.

Did anybody else notice this? Did anybody get any virus problems recently, or is it harmless? Should I just ignore the warning and let it onto my hardrive?
