You dont see the point? simple maths,

16 + 8 = 24GB

I think they replace the Memory Stick slot with the hard drive

No I think they just add on to the pins so you can still access the MS slot

How does the psp know which to read from? Is there a switch of some sort?

This is actually not a hdd, it's a ssd and it's pretty much just a memorystick type converter soldered on to the psp. A normal memory stick wouldn't work with this soldered on and you could as well solder on a 16gb ms pro duo the same way. So it's a pretty useless mod.

That's what I thought. It can't possibly use both at the same time, so it probably uses the drive instead of the Memory Stick.

Could you solder a couple of 16GB's?

Im still trying to come up with a really good hard mod for replacing the UMD
