I just updated my old PSP to 5.50 Gen-A then to B and I was wondering if there will be a 1.50 Kernel patch released. A lot of my homebrew is old stuff like GBA and SNES emulators that require it. I wont be updating my new PSP from 5.00 M33-6 until everything works fine on my old one.

Thanks.

There's very little need for the 1.50 kernel patch as most popular emulators have versions that can run in the newer kernel modes. Just get new versions of your emus.

I finally made the switch from M33 to 5.50 GEN-B earlier today (I'll go back to M33 if DA updates or if I find some terrible issues), and I have confirmed all the emulators and homebrew I have currently installed still work:

SNES9xTYL 0.4.2 (whoever said SNES doesn't work, well, this one does! Just put it in the regular GAME folder)
Picodrive 1.51 (Sega Genesis)
Colecovision Colem port
HUE for PSP (PC Engine/TG16)
Wolfenstein 3D
Bookr (ebook reader)
NESterJ v1.12 (NES emulator)

Also, the two PS1 games I had on there still work, AND popsloader still works for me. Did somebody say it didn't? I tested it by holding R and changing between different POPS versions successfully with the game Dino Crisis.
CWCheat plugin still works too.

So if there's stuff that doesn't work, I guess I'm lucky because *everything* I have on my MS still works.

All I can say is UPDATE YOUR EMULATORS.

All in all, the ONLY thing I'm missing now is the memory stick speed hack, which does make a noticeable difference. But I think I'll stick with this to get all the online/remote play functionality back.

Interesting list. Aside from that, I need to find a GB/GBC/GBA emulator that works and I cant think of any other issues.

Is GI Joe confirmed working with this?

Do I need to register on that site. Keeps telling me I don't have permission.

Hey sorry guys i'm a little new to this gen biz... but i was just wondering..

I know you can go from 3.52 M33 -> 5.50 Gen-a (build 4)

and to go to 5.50 Gen-b u need to be @ 5.50 Gen-a first..
is gen-a (build 4) the same as just plain gen-a? or do u have to go to build 4 to gen-a to gen-b?

I hope I'm making sense.. thanks guys

well i hate to sound like a newbie but I cant help it as I AM.

I got this PSP 3006 and accidentally and stupidly updated to OFW 5.51

I know that till now theres no way I can hack it.

I tried installing your CFW 5.50. I got a message that there is no need to update to 5.50 as the system is still running 5.51.

If somehow this update shows as 5.55 to the system then maybe it will allow it to update the OFW. A lot of people may have tried it but I just want to know if this can be a way out. Can it work?
