Would I loose any benefits by going from 5.00m33-6 to 5.50gen-a? Would it be a wise decision? And if I don't like it can I go back?

You can also use a little thing called Update Trick 2.0. That way you can keep using all your plugins. I have no problem playing FF7 from the store and I am running 5.00 MM3-6.

The Update Trick tricks your PSP into thinking it's running 5.50. It is automated so you don't have to flash out your version TXT.
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?yyyuyzz0kzy English Instructions Insert "Update Trick 2.0" folder into your psp game folder Start the homebrew app Pick the first option where its says 5.50 after that wait till the bar is finished and then press O then your done enter the recovery menu and enable version.TXT Your PSP now simulate 5.50 while still being on 5.00 m33-6 Note: Update Trick 2.5 has been released but I haven't tested it yet so I'm not going to recommend it.

Only DaX knows. I hope so. The "Trend Micro Security" sounds cool.
