Okay, Thanks, I have a Hackable 2000 PSP.

I kinda wanted to use the PSP store, though.

PSP Store works with update 4. The update works fine except no plug-ins work. I'm reverting back to 5.00MM3.

You will then need to make a Pandora Battery and Magic Stick set since you bricked your PSP.

Yes. PSP Phats and hackable Slims can install/update custom firmware.

Btw, 5.50 GEN-B2 is out.

Quote:
The Custom Firmware 5.50GEN-B had an annoying bug, it made the launch of some homebrew impossible as the kit Despertar. A simple compilation error is now resolved.

We are sorry for having taken so long to give you the updated fix for this bug very annoying but it is for GENyUS, or me, the summer was a little rough in the real world and our presence Internet has been rather stealthy. “Better late than never,” says the proverb, and this is exactly what we have in mind at the time of this update.

This version is a simple update of the Custom Firmware 5.50GEN-B and you must have previously installed it to take advantage of the Custom Firmware 5.50GEN-B2.

If you’re still 5.00M33 or less, so you need to follow this path:
  • Installing 5.50GEN-A
  • Installing 5.50GEN-B
  • Installing 5.50GEN-B2
If you already been in 5.50GEN-B sufifira you apply the patch today.

What’s up Doc?
  • Fixed bug that prevented the launch of an entire category whose homebrew kit despertar del cementerio.

I have a PSP 1001 with 5.00M33-6. I have bought ff7 from PSN and it says to get 5.50, I edited the version.txt to be 5.50 and enabled the use of the version.txt, but I'm still having problems. Would updating to 5.50 gen-a allow for me to play my ff7?

You can also use a little thing called Update Trick 2.0. That way you can keep using all your plugins. I have no problem playing FF7 from the store and I am running 5.00 MM3-6.

The Update Trick tricks your PSP into thinking it's running 5.50. It is automated so you don't have to flash out your version TXT.

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?yyyuyzz0kzy

English Instructions

Insert "Update Trick 2.0" folder into your psp game folder

Start the homebrew app

Pick the first option where its says 5.50

after that wait till the bar is finished and then press O then your done

enter the recovery menu and enable version.TXT

Your PSP now simulate 5.50 while still being on 5.00 m33-6

Note: Update Trick 2.5 has been released but I haven't tested it yet so I'm not going to recommend it.

I hate to sound stupid but I can't get this to work, I've tried enabling version.txt before running and running then pressing O, entering recovery and enabling version.txt and I still can't make it work, any suggestions?
