I disagree with you Zero. The PSP was $250 when it came out and no one complained about it. The go is $250 again as a starting price, and it will probably drop to $200 like the old one did and then continue like that.
Also, buying digital games is usually cheaper than buying hard copies. On top of that, if Sony adds that rental service it would be nice. |

You are eliminating packaging and manufacturing prices, so why bother?

Higher profits for Sony. Sadly, the developers won't see another penny because of the changes.

Retailers need to setup "download kiosks" or something along those lines...

I agree with all of your points, but it is not the same as the GBA Micro. The Micro actually did very well in Japan; it just failed to catch the US's eye. Games were also still sold for the Micro by retailers.

Well I didn't really think or put a lot of thought into my reasoning... Of course Sony and the retailers would ultimately need to cooperate and work together. Like - what if you're still sporting dial-up or some real slow ass broadband connection? I'd rather go to the store, plugin or hop on their Wifi or whatever, and download my game(s) all fast like. Put dollar bills into the slot, get some PSN credits, download the game there. Go home, enjoy. Maybe pickup a PS3 title well I'm at it. Who knows. |

. How about you?The thing is though, Sony would make less by allowing retailers to sell them than if they just stuck to their current business model, because clearly retailers are going to want a portion of what they're selling. That's not to mention building the actual booths that would sell the games (which wouldn't be that cheap), convincing retailers that it's worth it to add the booth into their store to make a lousy $1/game, etc etc. In the US, finding a free WiFi hot spot is like trying to find the sun. You spend 2 seconds looking and you're going to find one.

Me, not bad. Yeah, I'm not arguing your points, in fact I agree with them. I was just looking out for the little guy (the retailer). Whatever the case - I'll be getting a PSPgo. And personally, I'd rather sit at home on my couch and download games. I'm lazy like that. |

Check out the thread I just posted, $212USD for it (so like $220CAD). I'm not sure if Dell ships to Canada, but it's worth a shot.

I agree with the whole touch screen point. Sony could have easily added the functionality.
