Default PSP-Go has a faster processor.

It's unclear what the added processor power will be used for. It may be necessary for PSP Go-specific features, like in-game XMB. But will it be used in more traditional gaming applications? If so, could we possibly see PSP Go-exclusive games? Perhaps. Nintendo has released a very small number of applications exclusively for the upgraded DSi, which also features a much beefier processor than its predecessor so there's portable precedence.

See guys, I've been saying from the start that the PSPgo will not only kick ass but it will also supersede the PSP. Sony have already admitted a PSPgo app range, now a better processor & also that we will eventually see PSPgo exclusive games [see Qore E3 episode]

Get saving people cos the go is gonna kickass

So since the pspgo is going to have exclusive games, does that mean the psp is going to be obsolete?

Yeah, while the Go and 3000 are being released alongside eachother the 3000 will slowly be phased out.

Anyway, good news for the faster processor; saw this news on The SDF but you beat me to posting it here

Not obsolete for quite a while but the future of gaming is going to go to digital downloaded media, its already beginning to happen with Xbox Live and PSN with their full game downloads, you see Sony and MS don't earn from second hand games, they only earn from new games, they have no interest at all in whether or not somebody can get some $$ back from selling a game once they are finished with it.

I just hope they hack the go quickly, I don't mind shelling out for a few top titles while I wait such as Gran Turismo and maybe I'll grab MHFU as well to keep me busy though.

hell yeah! man I fell in love with the psp GO! ever since I saw it. now Im definitely going to buy one. Im going to finally start saving up. I still have my launch 1000 so this will be a great upgrade.

I mostly just hope this gets hacked.

I agree with you scorpus the 3000 will be phased out very slowly, and then maybe the umd will also no longer be made? maybe in a few more years every psp game will be digital only?

How... almost pointless? Imo, they should've just made this the PSP2. In 6 more month's of development time, it would've had better hardware in it to justify the price tag, and have the same "backwards compatibility" through the UMD Legacy section of the PSN. It probably would've had more ram and a bigger processor than that, allowing for ports of PS2 games as well.

Sigh... I'm sure I'll get one if something big gets to be Go exclusive. Hopefully by then it'll be hacked

They practically have.

PSP-1000 > PSP-2000 - Not much of an upgrade.

PSP-3000 > PSP-Go! - Look at the difference in models

Looks like a pretty big upgrade to me
