Can you mod the PSP2000 to become PSP3000?

I mean, its just the screen and the in-build mic right?
I was thinking if there are some spare parts, just buy
the LCD and whatever and just mod it anyways~

At the moment i'm not too 'excited' over the mic part
but the brighter screen part is definitely a plus!

We'll just have to wait and see. You still have to consider the fact that the motherboard WILL be designed differently, voltage differences between the different screens, and IDstorage keys. It's kinda like trying to put a Slim screen in a fat PSP.

Even if you get it swapped over you wont benifit from the extended colorspace capability (much) if at all. PSP is bright enough except for outdoors which in that case it needs a good brightening lol.

the mic is a possibility but i dont know about the screen, but the screen has me pretty stoked so depending on how security tightened these bad boys come i might get me one just for the screen

yeah i really want to know how GOOD the screen is actually.

1 thing i am dissapointed over the slim is that the screen
isn't INSIDE the casing just like that psp fat! That was my
very 1st impression

If this changes in PSP3000 (It's like PSP2000 with PSP1000 type of faceplate lcd)
then i think it's definitely worth it!

If it turns out the 3000 is hackable, sony will get hella more sales

and a hella less game sales meaning our games will suck even more over time. Sony needs to make an unhackable system that way developers will be more likely to make games if there is an unhackable psp out there. The games will get even better if the new model takes a large part of the market share. I have said it before and I will say it again I DO NOT WANT THE NEW PSP TO BE HACKED. It will ruin the future of the PSP for sure despite its technological dominance over the DS. The new features are just a gimmick to get people to buy the "new and improved psp".

I agree with you there. I'm perfectly happy with my softmodded wii, xbox 1, and psp slim, so I have plenty of systems to go to for homebrew goodness. I want sony to make a system that's about as secure as an armored truck so developers will have more incentive to put some money into their projects so we won't have so many half assed games.
