Best Musican Round Two (Setup thread)

Hey all,

I'm currently in the works of setting up another contest like before, and I just want to make sure we have interest.

Anyways, leading off with my post in the voting thread

I currently refuse to vote in this thread for various reasons:

1. We aren't technically voting on what is hardest to play (Best musician?) we are voting on what sounds better (aka why ripe is getting a short straw)

2. Bias voting, we should have hidden who did what (possible idea for future?) to stop people not voting on one person just do to there interpersonal relationship

3. Conflicts, I have yet to download scribbles just because its not streaming (no offense)



So for future contests like this we need:

Hidden Entries - PM your entry to the thread maker, he/she will then make a thread with them all in, stopping the Bias problem mentioned above)
Youtube (or alike) = mandatory (Doesn't mean you need a cam, just record the sound and stick a picture beind it on Movie maker then upload it.)

Finally, we need to get it straight, Best Sounding? or Best Musician?
1. The contest I'll try and set up will be based on skill and sound (I'll touch on how we will do this later)

2. I have created a youtube account for this event, and an email address accordinly, when all is set in motion, I will release them for the particpents to send me there video files.

3. See above, we are doing VIDEO FORMAT, dont worry though, you dont have to film yourself, just get a background for it and make it a video (If this is to hard, I will take the recording and make the video for you myself, no need to leave people behind)

So, now we have hidden entrys for one AND live streaming so, if your like me, you dont need to download junk onto your HDD

Voting, the +++ system works fine, but with on exception, you must state your reason (Skill or Sounds good)


This should be good, I'm open to suggestions (and help lol)

Fine by me. I'll go in then. I want to record something with Harmonies. I've played it a few times before and know it well enough. I have the idea for what I want to play. Doesn't have any clean segments, but cleans didn't work so well last time I played it :(

I'd like to get someone who is not competing to co-host, but someone who knows quite a bit about music. I know Links is competitng, but he'd be fine. I would volunteer, but I don't want to be biased. I don't think it would be all that fair, especially because I'm so meticulous in my recording.

Either right now (few days) or a lot later. I'm moving houses first week of August, so I won't be able to get in some time in the days leading up and for a while after. I'd like to have it finish by the end of July at the latest.

And I want to record two songs, so what should I do:
Acoustic + Electric ballad like song
Layered Electric song with harmonies

Sounds good enough to me. I',m not sure exactly what the job of co-host entails, but I say as long as you know some theory. The voters will ultimately decide anyways.

No ballads? Song I'm thinking of sounds wicked. And it's quite famous, but the solo is a bitch in timing and harmonics... WHY CAN"T I NAIL IT?!?!
