dracule

the first one sucked ass, so i think they want to redeem themselves.

mmmmmm
06-06-2008, 12:42 PM
wheres the poll?

They cant leave a franchise as huge as hulk alone,
You may as well ask "why have they made 3 spiderman movies?"

Because the fans will buy it.

yep all the remakes are normally as bad as the original ones

I think its rather that its a safer investment working with popular culture/franchises. Which sucks for originality.

I actually rather enjoyed the first Hulk film myself, but yeah this is a reboot that looks to be full of good old fashioned HULK SMASH! It's also apparently another cog in the preparation for the Avengers movie with a cameo by Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark.

Bruce Banners going to be played by Edward Norton, hes pretty good.
Or he was in Fight Club anyway.

its not that~
i mean, the title is still 'The Hulk'
They didnt say 'The Hulk 2 or 3'

Nosferatu Zodd

That's because it's a reboot Stal just like Batman Begins was a reboot of the Batman franchise, and I thought it was The Incredible Hulk not The Hulk. From the internet buzz the plan is to make a series of individual films introducing the core members of the Avengers and then hit us with a big Avengers film without the need to bother with individual character backstories as we'll already be familiar with them and Ang Lee's interpretation just didn't fit into that plan.

I really don't get why people don't like Ang Lee's Hulk film, I mean it was a little bit slow in paces and the final fight could have been more Hulk Smash but otherwise I really enjoyed it. The performances were good, the cg wasn't bad it had Nick Nolte in fine creepy crazy guy mode and Sam Elliot as Thunderbolt Ross. Hell if it was lacking in any one thing it was that they didn't have this as the end theme music.

If it does it's his own bloody fault as he helped write the script and has reportedly been rewriting scenes.

First one was decent, this one looks worse. Trailer is full of bad acting. Special effects aside, this movie looks like something to miss.

Anyone tired of all the comic book based movies? The Hulk, Spiderman, Batman, Ironman, X-Men... Hollywood needs to start pushing original movies again.

Nosferatu Zodd

Nope, mainly because there's usually only one or two a year, it's just particularly crowded this summer. Besides aside from the more popcorn movie adaptations every once in a while we get a History of Violence or Road to Perdition.

Because they need a new film to tie in with the upcoming Avengers movie.

Wait, so this isn't a prequel? I never saw the first one and it was odd not seeing Eric Bana star in this one. I figured that this guy was a young David Banner (thus the prequel assumption).

Yeah the first one sucks, this one will tie in with the forthcoming Avengers movie & Ironman so its gonna kick ass, it looks like they are going Ultimate on us

First one sucked ass, this one looks like a great comic book movie. Tim Roth is in this as well as Abomination, and he plays Abomination. This movie has gotten great reviews from the early screenings.

Thats one that needs a sequel, or a prequel. There wasnt much of Franks history revealed in that movie.

I wonder how the Wolverine movie will turn out. Some good back story about Weapon X I hope.

Not really gonna do a full origins story like the other one.

I always thought I had decent taste in cinemas, after all when I go to see a film I take the 10 minute bus ride and then the 40 minute train ride for the nice comfortable seats with good leg room and decent sized screens rather than the 15 minute bus ride and feeling like a sardine while watching a rather small screen.

But if you're talking about my taste in cinema however that's something I will never apologise for, it's simply a part of who I am. I've watched all sorts of films including old black and white flicks that most people my age have never heard of, non-english films, and Hollywood blockbusters. My favourites may not feature on any list of movies to see before you die or some respected critics most beloved cinematic gems but I've loved each and every one.

I thought the Piter De Vries quote was part of your post. If you like Dune you've gained some points in my book. And what I was saying is more along the lines of people saying the Punisher fucking owned or that Jack makes a better joker than Heath Ledger.

Nosferatu Zodd
06-07-2008, 04:37 PM
I love the Dune film from David Lynch, watched it a month or two ago and that quote always sticks in my mind even more than the "fear is the mindkiller" speech. I tried the books but just couldn't get into Frank Herbert's prose, I might give them another go as i was a teenager at the time.

Punisher was a fun film, mainly for Thomas Jane but I wouldn't say it owned, unless you compare it to the Dolph Lundgren one and as far as Jokers go I know my Batman well enough to know that either performance would be valid though I suspect I'll prefer Ledger's. I refuse to pin myself down until I've seen it but I always liked him as an actor and there's a problem I have with Jack Nicholson, it's not that he's a bad actor or anything it's to do with his charisma. He's like Sean Connery to me, they both seem to bend the role around them so that when I see them in a film I always know that it's them, they just don't blend into the roles like other actors do.

i personally think jack nicholson sucked at the joker, they havent had good casting for any batman villian in my opinion, the penguin was the worst followed closely by mr. freeze, two face and the joker were semi decent posion ivy and cat woman were good though

Mr. Freeze was the worst imo. Arnold just did not fit the role at all. They just casted him based on his popularity.

The punisher was hilarious. It was such a good idea to be made into a movie. Plus it has some of the worst acting ever by it's minor characters. What's not to love?!?

My taste in movies is exactally that... Mine. I don't know what crazy bullshit strikes my fancy in some movies, but I just can't help but like them. Sorry to disappoint.

Batman Begins restored my love for the whole Batman franchise, before that I thought it had turned completely gay.

Fair enough explanation. @Beaker- Bale needs to borrow clooney's nipple suit.

lol, I think Bale portrays an excellent Wayne/Batman, Clooney & Keaton were to old looking & Kilmer, well he all around sucked, I liked Kilmer until he made that movie

Michael Ataman
06-08-2008, 04:32 AM
Kilmer did redeem himself later on though, when he starred in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

Nosferatu Zodd
06-08-2008, 04:39 AM
Kilmer's a frustratingly erratic actor as sometimes he does great and others it's almost embarassing to watch. Clooney did a decent Bruce Wayne but his Batman was lacking, I liked Keaton's Batman but his Bruce Wayne was quirky rather than charming playboy, though the bit where he instructed Alfred to give Knox a grand was classic. Overall Bale has done the best in capturing both aspects of the character.

Kilmer / Heat @ his best

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was not too bad but definitely not at his best

Also yeah that would pretty much sum up my feelings on the previous Batmen Nos
