FIRST OFF THANX FOR READING THIS AND THANX FOR THE STICKY
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE GUIDE BEFORE POSTING IN ORDER TO PREVENT YOURSELF FROM LOOKING LIKE A COMPLETE IDIOT.


Heres some help if people are trying to shrink an Iso to fit on smaller sticks or just to make them smaller in order to fit multiple games on 1 stick. Im gonna Doing this can make you lose music or video but it can be worth it. Whats better 1 game with full sound and video at a time and have to switch games every day or 4 games missing some music or video.

I know there is the program UMD ripper which is supposed to do the same thing but from my experience it doesnt shrink as well as by hand. Beside doing it by hand isn’t really to hard especially if you have help. So if your ready lets start!

STEP 1 GET AN ISO
================
I cant tell you how to do this since it is illegal. Once you do have one move to step 2.

STEP 2 MEET YOUR ISO
====================
Before you start shrinking the ISO you will want to understand it. It should be 1 big file.

1) You will first need to open the ISO. To do so you will need the program Winrar. If you don’t have it search google for it. Google is your best friend.

2) Open the ISO with Winrar and extract all of the files to your desktop. Now on your desktop should be a folder called (PSP_GAME and a file called UMD_DATA.bin). Do not mess with the .bin file.

3) Go inside PSP_GAME and you should find some files, and 2 folders. The various files are the images, music, and videos the PSP displays when you first insert a UMD and you move to the game section. Leave all of these files alone.

4) Now enter the folder called SYSDIR. Within this folder you will find 2 files and possibly a folder. The files are boot.bin and eboot.bin which should be left alone since they are what load the game. If there is a folder it will be called UPDATE and of course consists all of the files required to upgrade your firmware.

5) Finnaly within the folder USDIR is the “Meat” of the ISO. This is where you will find all of the files the game uses during play. The USDIR folder is where you will be doing most of your work.

Now that you understand the contents of an ISO you are ready to begin.

STEP 3 START SHRINKING
======================
Now you are ready to begin. First you will want to follow these basic steps. Do this in every ISO you with to shrink.

1) Delete Update folder in SYDIR - If this folder exists you should delete it. The files are useless to you unless you intend on upgrading.

2) Delete .pad files. - .pad files are only used to load when using UMD’s these files can be simply deleted and they will shrink the ISO by great amounts. .pad files are not always present. Check the USDIR folder for them. if you don’t find them there the game probably doesn’t have them.

STEP 4 DUMMY FILES
====================
You can now shrink the ISO even further by doing what’s called dummying. Basically you create a fake file that is 0kb’s in size to replace un-needed files such as music or video. Below is an explanation for different files.

MUSIC
=====
Music can add to the feel of a game but it takes up lots of space in most games. If you are willing to lose the songs you will have to dummy the music. Music can usually be found with ease. In most easports games you will find the tracks in eatracks. One you have located the music files create a new folder on your desktop. Then open up note pad and copy the following text into it.

IF NOT EXIST DUMMY mkdir DUMMY
FOR %%A IN (*) DO TYPE > DUMMY\%%A
Del DUMMY\dummy.bat

Save this file as dummy.bat in the new folder on your desktop. The file should show up as a batch file rather than a text document. Copy and past all of the music into the new folder and double click on the dummy.bat. This should now create a new folder called dummy. Enter this folder and you should find copys of all the songs. but if you check they are 0kb. Replace the originals in the ISO with these to shrink your ISO.

MOVIES
=======
Unlike music you cant replace movies with 0kb files. The game requires there to be an actual video in place. Rather than dummying with okb files you will need take a small .pmf movie that actually works. Just copy the video, rename it as one of the larger movies and replace. For example in a ea sports game one of the movies may be the clip where the companys symbol come up and it says “ea sports” . This file isn’t going to be as big as an entire intro movie so rename the ea sport clip to match the intro clip in order to replace it. A good choice for a working .pmf movie is the one that is usually found within the PSP_GAME folder. I think its called INTRO1.pmf or something.

NOTE - If any one can explain to me how to attach files to my post I can attach a very small working . pmf movie you can use.

OTHER FILES
===========
For any other file you can usually just dummy them like you do with music. Later in the guide there is help for individual games which will tell you other files you can dummy within that ISO.

STEP 5 REBUILD ISO
=================
1) Download the program UMDgen which you can get from the PSP-hacks website.

2)Run the program. Drag and drop both the PSP_GAME folder and UMD_DATA.bin into it.

3) Save the file as what ever you want but be sure your saving as ISO.

4) It will create a ISO which should be smaller than the original. If not you have problems.

5)Now test it out to ensure it works. Try all of the loader before reporting an error. Some games will not work with some loaders.

INDIVIDUAL GAME HELP
===============================================
Below is a list of games and how you can shrink each one. If I am missing the game you want post a request and Ill try to get one up.

Armored Core
I don’t actually have the game but I read on other sites that there are 2 files called dummy and dummy1 you can delete to get it to around 660mb. I am also going to assume there are movies you can replace to get the ISO lower.

Burnout Legends
Delete the music folder and the ovid folder to get this down to about 330mb. This isnt too much of diffence and really isnt worth much considering it doesnt even let it fit on a smaller stick. It starts around 430mb and goes to 330 which both require a 512 stick. So doing this is useless unless your trying to fit multiple games and need another 100mb to do so.

Bleach 2
I have in no way tested this game. I got the info from another site in order to help out someone who asked for it so sorry if it doesnt work.

Go to the data folder and delete browser folder which is just the games web page or somthin, go to data/str/ movie and replace all the movies with ICON1.pmf in PSP_Game folder. You can dummy some of the music in PSP_GAMEUSRDIRdatafpacksoundbgm' but some files may not be music but actual game sounds so you have to mess with it. You can remove the MINI folder in data/fpack. This is a minigame, just dont try to play it or you will crash. He also removed folder called enlist in data/fpack which is a part in the game or somthing. He claims this rips it to around 170mb. Good luck and remeber dont blame we if it doesnt work.

Coded Arms
Holy crap I love this rip. Just delete the the Update folder as usual and go to the movie folder and copy the smallest one and rename it to replace all the others. This shrinks the ISO to about 87mb which is small and you still have the ingame music. You could probably rip the music to but I never tried. My best guess is that it is the Wavedata.bin in the sound folder but I cant varify this. If it is the wavedata.bin ripping it whould put the ISO around 60 or so mb which is awesome. Im not sure on the spelling lol, Any way dummy the sound pxp.skx and yells.skx in the data folder and delete the Update folder to get it to about 176mb.

I was unable to make this game work so I found a guide on a diffrent site.

Untested for now. this should work for a 512MB stick

Delete PAD files of course, dummy pmf's, and the dont forget the pmf's in the ea tracks folder, and also the update folder. Okay now here is where the fun comes in, delete dat_eng.big this is the commentary and also chants.big, go into common.ini and change the following settings to appear like they do below.

People are really going to be mad about this one but this ISO is alot easier to rip with a rip kit. Im working on figuring out how to rip it but until then you should use a ripkit Sorry for not being able to help at the moment.The game is giving me trouble. Certain modes mess up when I rip things. Ill have a guide soon.

Just delete the .pad file and the update folder to get this to about 135mb

Medivil Resurection
This game is pretty big. Basically the only way your gonna fit this on a 1.gb stick is to rip movies. Movies are .pmf files for the noobs. Im cant rememer if you can use , okb pmf or if you must copy a smaller on and rename it accordingly. Either way you can rip all of the movies or just some. Its up to u. Plus it is hard to tell which movies are which since they are named wierd. I just ripped em all.

Dummy all of the music and videos to get it to about 118 which is nice considering its only a puzzle type game.

In order to rip this game you must mess with the codeing sense one of the files is over 1gig. That being said, a rip kit is much easier. I found a site with a rip to make the game really small but I cant confirm it works. Will someone please confirm that it does? Here is the link

Go to eatrax and dummy everthing except the trackinfo
Go to i think its called movies or videos and copy the smallest file and replace all the others with it

This will shrink it between 400 and 500 and still have commentary or if you
replace the file speech/asw called aswdat.fcd with the file 3pthdr.fcd.
and
replace the file in speech/arena called xarndat.fcd with the file xarnhdr.fcd.

it will delete the commentary and leave the iso around 200 i think.

NBA Street
In eatrax you can dummy all of the music. In music_ingame there are songs you can dummy. In speech replace the file called spchdats.big with a copy of spchhdrs.big (be sure to rename) There may also be some video files that you can replace. Im not sure how small this will get you since I dont have the game.

Need For Speed Most Wanted
Go to eatrax and dummy all the songs (not the index though) and go to video and dummy the extras 1 & 2 pmfs and all the other languages. This leves just the intro and english. This gets it to about 115mb.

If this doesnt work try leaving the exras Pmf files.

You can then use the dax compressor to get this to about 88mb.

Need For Speed Underground Rivals
First delete the file called pad_na.dat in USDIR
then delete 35_soulwax_any_minute_now.pmf and 31_donots_we_go_the_noise.pmf in the eatrax folder

this will get it to about 170 mb.

You can also dummy all the songs and the intro movies to make it fit on a 128mb stick which is realy small

Prince Of Persia
I dont have the game but I found a rip kit for you guys. IF you only have a 512 I and wan to play use this. However it does delete all sound and videos so if you have 1gb Id leave it cause the game isnt itself without sound. However for 512 users its good. To make it fit on 1gb just go to USDIR and delete FILLER1.BF and FILLER2.BF.

I managed to make it fit on a 1gb but nothing lower sorry. Go to the movies folder and delete Killer66_Win_EN.pmf

You may be able to take out some of the other languages but I never tested it. You can also probably dummy music to make it even smaller but I happen to like it with music. As far as I know it wont fit on a 512mb without losing actual game sound which sucks. If anyone can confirm getting rid of music it would help. The above reduces it to about 950mb.

Ridge Racer
go to the sound folder and replace the bgm_nps_pack.binwith a okb version and replace all of the movies with the smallest one to get around 180mb. You will lose all music though. Leave the bgm file to keep music but the ISO is about 600mb then I think.

Replace all of the movies with the activision splash movie and dummy all of the music to make this fit on a 512mb

Here is a ripkit for the game. It rips out the music but leaves a fully playable ISO at 254 mb.

This game is huge. You should delete the .pad files first of course. This gets it to about 700 which is actually nice since it starts around 1.8gb
If you want to make it smaller you you can dummy the commentary and music to get it around 530mb. Saddly I dont think you can fit it onto a 512 stick without losing actual courses.

Tony Hawks Underground 2
To get it fit on 1gb delete the music folder. This will get it to about 860mb There is probably videos to dummy but I cant remember.

Untold Legend
After dumping the ISO just use winrar to extract it and then use UMDgen to rebuild it. This will get it from about 600 I think to about 350mb

EDIT After getting this down to 350mb use the dax compressor to get a working dax file at about 160mb.

Xmen Legend 2
Whenever I try to rip sounds from this game such as ingame music I end up losing all of the game sound so here is a NO SOUND shrink guide. Go to the sound folder and dummy every file in every folder. The game should still work. Maybe if you find a ripkit somewhere you could rip some sound and it work but Ive had no luck

DAX ISO LOADER

There has recently been a new program released that will allow you to compresss your ISOs to make them smaller. You can download it here

This app is basically like Winzip or Winrar. It will compress your ISO into a new format called DAX(I think thats right). In order to use it download from the link above.

1) copy the PSP and UMDEmulator folders to the root of your PSP.

2) Run the exe file in the DAX Creator folder. (on windows)

3) Now find your ISO and sellect it.

4) Next enter the name you want then new file to be,

5) Next type a # 1 -9 to choose your settings. 1 = fast compression but bigger file and 9 = slow compression b ut smaller file, or you can choose 0 for default setting. (I recomend 9)

6) Then press enter and it will compress your ISO into a Dax file. Now place the Dax file into the ISO folder on your Memory stick.

7) Run UMD emulator with NO UMD IN THE DRIVE.

8) Choose system menu and select the ISO file. (NO UMD IN DRIVE)

9) Now run DAX loader. It will tell you to insert a UMD. Do so.

10) In about 3 secs you will return to the home screen. Run the game from there like a normal UMD. (You may be able to use MPH loader now if the game needs 2.0.

This program is still in early works and Ive run into alot of problems with loading games. I believe there is a list of working games in the hacks crack mods section.

Hey I noticed this topic is slowly going down in the list because no one is posting on it. I really think it will help people rip there games to fit on their memory sticks and would be really pissed off if in like 2 weeks this topic is on like page 10 and everyone is asking how to shrink games so if any admins or mods or whoever has the authority to make stickies could make this one Id be really happy. Ive updated it alot and dont want to see it all go to waste. Also it would help if the 190 so people who look at this topic would actually post something like quesions. It sound like your talking about the .bat script. When its done you will have 0kb versions of all the files. Just take these files and put them where you got them from.

Ex - You take song1.atrc from USDIR>MUSIC and dummy it. In ends up in a folder called dummy. Take it and put it back in USDIR>MUSIC and replace the original.

i deleted the .pad files there it was about 635 MB... does that affect it?

Im not sure if I get what your sayin. Could you specify the part of the game your talkin about. I have no clue from your description.

Im not sure what the .pak is since I dont have the ISO on my Computer any more. You could back up the ISO and deltete it and see what it does. though. When you dummy the movies with okb files it may or may not work depending on the games. I think it does work for Pursuit Force but I cant say for sure. If it doesnt you must copy the smallest movie and use it to replace the others. Some times the game wont run if it is missing the intro. You just have to experiment with it. Sorry I cant help any more than that since I dont actually have pursuit force to refer to. Good luck though.

Are you sure you named the .bat file dummy.bat because the code basically dummys everthing including the dummy.bat file so it then deletes it. the error claims there is no dummy.bat file. Be sure you saved it as dummy.bat or it wont work. If you continue to have this problem just dont copy the last line of the code. It should work then.

I can think of a few reasons.

1) You have a 512mb stick. You want to play a really cool game on it so you d/l it and realize its not gonna fit. But now you rip the music and it will. you way not be getting the whole game but it is better than none.

3)Your going on a long ass trip and dont own any UMDs other than the demo one. You usualy play ISOs. Lets say you gonna be in a car with no laptop. Dont you think its gonna get boring playing the same game for hours on end because you werent willing to lose the songs.

I dont rip actuall sounds in the game. Its still perfectly playable. I know some games like Ridge Racer arnt them selves without the music but some times sacrifices must be made at times. I personaly would rather have tons of games without audio then 1.

Plus look at this. Take a look at a easports game like NBA Live 06. The game has previews on it for other various easport games. Do you really need these? No, delete em. How bout music. There is none when your actually playing the game. Its just commentary so what do I need 15 songs for. Its a waste of space. That right there just went from not fitting on a 1gb to fiiting on a 512 and you didnt lose anything worth while.

Its up to you if want to shrink games but in the long run it saves space and allows you to fit more games.

First of thanks for saying I should be stickied but sadley this thing keep getting lost in the forum. Today it was on Page 2. Hey bud. I dont want to piss you off but could you check one more time. Open notepad copy and past the code in. Dont type it your self incase you do something wrong. Click file, save as and type dummy.bat and be sure its set for all types of files. Make a new folder on your desktop and place dummy.bat into it. Next put all files in it. Double click it and it should work.


Maybe in the code you only have 1 % sign. there should be 2.

Here is the code

All do madden in a second but the Raw Vs Smackdown may be a while. I dont have the game and unless I can find info which I have yet to find I cant put it. If you post the folder names and files I may be able to help.

The best help I can give you is if there is a folder called music or somthin you can dummy that and same for movies.

I used UMDGEN v0.1 to remove the "updater, eboot.bin, both of the .pad files, and replaced movies and audio files appropriately." I have the psp version 1.5, and tried UMD emulator v0.8, v0.8c, and fastloader v0.7 to load the iso, but no luck. I know it should be compatible with emulator v0.8, but let me know otherwise.

I have also tried it in various option parameters.

Yah no problem. Download the latest fastloader if you dont have it and put it on the stick. Stick in your UMD. Be sure your memory stick is mostly empty. Start up fastloader. There should be an option to dump inserted UMD. Select it. There will be a little thin about deleting your psp flash but its just a joke. LOL No it will show you the file size in bytes. At the botom somewhere it should say no dumping or somthin like that. Pushing the left button changes it. Go to the 800 mb auto pause one. It should say how many parts its gonna be. If it says one go ahead and and choose to start. (This is asuming you have a 1gb. If you have 512 I think there is an option to split it by 500mb) After staring it will dump the iso to your stick in a folder called ISO. It will be called my latest dump or somthin. If it is more than 1 you will have to split. Ckick start and it will dump 800mb or whatever you choose. Then it will pause. Plug in the USB and press triangle to activate the USB cable. You can now take the part out of the folder. ISOsplit or somthin like that and put it on your computer. Then delete it from your stick and press x to resume. Do this for each part. When you are done you must use a file merger. I use 1 called universal file splitter and merger to put it back together. NOTE the one I use only alows you to merge 2 files at a time so I dont think 3 parts will work. When you done merging you should have a fuly playable ISO.

It worked on my psp with umd emulator on system menu mode. How far do you get before the game crashes. You cant just delete the video files or dummy them with 0kb files. You must use a valid pmf file. Check the psp-game folder. There is usually a pmf there called intro1 or somthin. Or copy the smallest one. Good luck and post again if your still having problems.

As instructed in your guide, I have copied the smallest original PMF movie files and replaced it with the others. eatrak audio files are 0kb, except for the trackinfo. otherwise, speech and other audios are intact.

after displaying the initial NBA LIVE 2005 loading sign for about 5 seconds, then the whole thing crashes.

Alright I looked back at my NBA live 06 iso and here is what I did. I deleted the update folder of course. In my eatrax folder all the files except trackinfo has been dummied to okb files. In movies all of the files have been shrank to 454kb using the smallest one. I think its the easports_eng one. I did not remove the commentary as my guide sugests so this may be the problem. Are you trying to? There may have been pad files but if there were they were deleted. At the end my ISO was 469mb. Thats what my ISO looks like and it works fine on UMD emulator from system menu mode.

It sound like your game is trying to load something but cant find it. Be sure you didnt delete anything important. Does the ISO work before ripped because if not thats the problem. Good luck and post back.

I use one called Universal File Splitter and Merger. It is an easy to use software. Although it is only a demo version. Most of the mergers are demo and require purchase for full function. However most demos allow only 20 day trials or somthin like that. Universal only reduces the feature available. The only problem is you can only merge 2 files at a time. Im not sure if it will work if you have an 3 part ISO since mine are always 2. You can find a download site easly by using google and searching for it. Several site should show up with it available.

The file for the movies in mine are all 196kb. I cant say for sure which movie these came from or if it even came from the game at all.

At UMDgen.com you can download a very small .pmf file but I think you have to register to d/l it.

The best I can help you get right now is delete update folder if there is one. Delete .pad files if there are any. Dummy music if you can find it. And replace movies if you can find any.

Ill try to find info on the game and see if I can figure out where the music and videos are at for you.

O sh*t dude, Im sorry, I didnt reconize your name as someone Id already been helping. Ok where did you get your NBA Live 06 ISO cause that may have something to do with it. Im not sure if I already asked this but did you test the ISO before ripping. If so try leaving the Intro movie in. That may be what messed it up. Good luck and be sure to post back with an update.

i have Midnight Club 3 iso.. which is 1.6gig;
the main file in USRDIR is a '.dat' file which is already over 1gig in size.
so how can i fit this game onto a 1gig memory stick????

Music can add to the feel of a game but it takes up lots of space in most games. If you are willing to lose the songs you will have to dummy the music. Music can usually be found with ease. In most easports games you will find the tracks in eatracks. One you have located the music files create a new folder on your desktop. Then open up note pad and copy the following text into it.

When you have copied and pasted the code into notepad click save as and type dummy.bat as the name. You probably need to change the file save type to all files rather than text document. The option should be right below where you enter the name.

Fifa 06 you just can go to data/eatrax and dumm all the files except trackinfo and you will get around 340 MB iso

Alright I added a crap load of guides including the much requested Midnight Club 3. I put up a link to a ripkit for it. Im having trouble with some of the requested games since I dont have them. If someone who does have the ISOs could PM me with the contents of the games I may be able to help. I had seen a German ISO of Xmen Legends 2 at around 450mbs, but my US version is hovering at about 1.2gb. Any word on how to shrink the file?

MIDNIGHT CLUB 3 DUB EDITION

Alot of people have been posting about this game and I just want to take this opurtunity to say " I can't rip this game." As many of you have probably notice there is a file which is bigger than 1 gig already. Therefore if I rip music or videos the file will be bigger than 1gig. The only way it is going to work is if you somehow changed the code in the +1gig file which I have no experience in. As far as the ripkits go, Nappa4evva is correct in saying that the ripkit wont work on certain ISOs. Most ripkits only work on the original ISO. If you dump the game from a UMD it probably would work. With that stated I can not help any one with MC3. If anyone find links to ripkits feel free to post them as to help others out with this game. Im sorry I can help anymore than that.

Wow, I cant help but say this... Your a major newb. Where have you been for the past like 4 months. Socom does not work at all as a loader. You can not, and I repeat not play socom, GTA and many other newer games. Check the sticky in the hacks, cracks and mods forum for a complete list of non working games.

no, i just deleted that one big file which is called pad_eu.dat i think this is the same thing that u mean by pad_na.dat.

It sound like the eu in your .dat file probably stands for europe and the na in mine stands for North america. Maybe this is causing the error. Maybe you could simply dummy the file rather than delete it?

After copying the script and saving it as dummy.bat you should get a file. Make a new folder and place this file and all files you wish to dummy inside. Double click the .bat and you will get a folder called DUMMY with all of the files in it. You may have to turn off virus protection to run it.

I do not have any jap games because I dont d/l any of my games. I rip them from UMDs because I have dial up and it takes forever. I would try if you sent me the file but of course as I just said I have dial up. So unless you want to send me the file by mail I can help you. Besides Joe88 said it wont work at all but I cant confirm this. Try dumming music movies and .pad files. Good luck. Ill keep my eye out for any news on the game

awesome guide man. although i cant seem to get SSX on Tour and NFSU Rivals to work. stupid EA. i run the ISOs from UMD EMU v.08c and then they go to the game load screens and freeze on me. they both do it regardless of the intro movie being intact. honestly i dont care about Rivals ive played it and its quite stale but SSX looks good. i want to fit it on a 512mb stick with another game but i cant get it to run with or without the movies intact. anyhelp would be appreciated.

Maybe you should try fastloader, I use fastloader for ever game unless they dont work on it in which case I use emulator.

Hey guys, Ive been gone for a very long time! Ive been going through some "problems" which I really dont want to discuss nad havent had much time to contribute. I noticed that there have been some really noob questions in this forum latly. If you guys really dont know what ISOs are you should read around. I think there are some stickies around but it really pisses me off when people dont even bother reading what the forum is about before newbing it up. Alot of the new games coming out arnt working on 1.5 so there arnt many new games to add. To be honest I havnt played psp for like a month untill today so I guess I cant help at the moment. ISOs are when you take a PSP game from the DISK also known as UMD and copy all the FILES so that you have the ENTIRE GAME. You then PLAY these ISOs are programs called LOADERS made for PSP meaning that you PLAY the GAME with no DISK.

You would shrink the ISO to make it smaller meaning more free space on your MEMORY STICK.

This will shrink it between 400 and 500 and still have commentary or if you

replace the file in speech/arena called xarndat.fcd with the file xarnhdr.fcd.

For any other file you can usually just dummy them like you do with music. Later in the guide there is help for individual games which will tell you other files you can dummy within that ISO.

I'm actually having trouble putting umdrips that came in multiple .rar files into one ISO so i can put it onto my psp. Some downloads come with 14 .rar's and when I decompress them, they are all ISO's and usually all the same size.

How do you make them into one ISO. I'll then use your wonderful posts from above to shrink it from there. :)

Well you need a file merger program. Just search google for one. There are pleanty of share ware mergers out there. I personally use Universal File Splitter And Merger. It works great with my ISOs but the free version will only let you merge 3 files at a time. Ive never tried more but you may be able to merge 3, then another 3, and then merge those two together to put 6 into one but again Ive never tried. Id try the universal thing I mentioned above because if your confused I can help you out.

Well I dumped this game from the UMD and ran it and it works. However when I opened it and ripped it then rebuilt it it wouldnt load. I think it has a problem that it deletes some files when it extracts so I dont think this game can be ripped.

download the umdisoinstall compressed file from the main psp-hacks download page. Decompress it (we'll call this deco), go to software folder inside "deco" and open the macromedia flash player file. It's a tutorial, I would start with the folders topic the rest in there will tell you all you need to know. Then just get some iso's.

i use this as you can chop iso up wilst there being made so u can rip iso's witch are bigger than the memory card you have
Do as the instructions say in the readme to dump a umd. Ie make an iso. If u have a small memory card and you choped up the file you will need to put the files together with a file joiner as i posted above.
You now have your ISO if this is an old game u may be able to run it from fastloader but i still suggest doing part 2.

Some iso will not run whatever. i dont have a list but basicly the newer the game the less likly it will run

Once everything is installed also download MPH Game loader http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/348
Read the readme and install it. it may talk about editing the iso but dont bother.
Now you just need to run umd emulator click on the iso you want if that doesnt work. Click home then choose MPH Game Loader and the game should run.

Just run it like a UMD from the home screen. Instead of the inserted UMD you should see the ISO you chose. You know when you put a UMD in while the PSP is on and it displays the game and you press x to run it, just like that, no home brew.

How can you say you do everything in the game yet you cant play the game? Doesnt make sense! Any Ways maybe use diffrent settings in UMd emulator. Or maybe your ISO is bad.

i say that i can choose everything in the game(options, and so and so) but when i try to play practise or something else my psp suddenly turn it off :D ISO was bad, i dwnloaded newone and it is working now :)

I dont get this game! People are claiming by ripping the radio it gets it to 400mb yet I ripped the stations and only got to 600mb. Im still trying to figure out why.

To rip the stations just go to (Usrdir>Audio>Music) and dummy
RISE
MUNDO
MSX
LIPS
LCJ
LCFR
KJAH
HEAD
FLASH
DOUBLE

That should get it down

EDIT - oops I my ISO is 615mb but I missed 2 stations about 50mb total so that would get it below 600.

Also you could dummy all of the files in the Music folder, they are just news and other radio things.
However they are more story related so I left them in mine.

Yes, "dummying" (not dumping) languafe files usualy will not affect the game as long as you dont switch to that language.

what would happen if i DELETED all the language folders that i dont need, like JAPANESE, SPANISH, CHINESE, etc..? I can only read enlgish, so it seems like an awful wast of space to me...

This is a great guide but im tryin to rip SSX when i put the songs into the dummy folder they dont appere in the new folder there out of the folder and they all have the wird DUMMY in frount of the song namke and therefore they dont over right do u no why?
Also when it comes to saving the file in umdgen it always gives me a error message.

my dumy maker did that at first. i had to fix it. make sure you have this text in the .bat file

alright i did all of that and followed your directions for NFS most wanted, its starts up but once it gets to the part where they are talking about how you shouldnt copy how they drive or whatever... lol, and it freezes right there...

i deleted the .pad files there it was about 635 MB... does that affect it?
Im not sure if I get what your sayin. Could you specify the part of the game your talkin about. I have no clue from your description.
i did the same thing for a naruto game that i found. the .dat movie file is almost 260Mb i removed it and the game loaded but the screen went blank after that. i then put it back and removed the movie folder but the same thing happened.

i really need some help rippin this game to fit my 512.

Im doing this at the top of my head so I dont have the ISO to refer to but find the music, delete it. Find them Update folder, delete it. Find the movies, replace them all with the one in PSP_Game.

Then use Dax_ZISO. I did something like this and mines like 87mb

for pursuit force i delited the files u said and i made all the movies the smallest 1. i dont know how to dummy file the muic. and the game is still 1 gb and my 1 gb mem stick only has 949 kb of memory for some reason with nothing on it(unless that = 1 gb

Well as far as the 949mb, if you notice if you look at a file in MB or KB the # is exactly the same like 1000 KB does not exactly = 1mb but its close. That, and the fact that the memory stick has required files on it that take away from the amount you can use. So when you buy 1GB you dont really get a GB. Its kinda a rip off if you ask me.

But as far as the Pursuit force goes, I think you have the US version which is bigger then the EUR version from my guide.

So it successfully dummies the files, but Id rather not have to go through and rename tons of files (these aren't really the kinds of files I've been trying to dummy, I'm just using them as an example)

And the dummy folder itself is empty.

Any ideas?

i'm trying to run Evangelion with devhook, and the iso has a folder called "voice" that is over 520mb. i dummied one of the big files there, and now when a dialog box comes up that uses a sound clip from that file, the game freezes. did i do something wrong, or is it just a stubborn game?
