ok, we should have known it would happen eventually. apparently, there
is homebrew software claiming to be a 1.5 EBOOT loader for the 2.0 being
circulated under the pspteam name. however, this program will brick your
psp upon attempt to run it. it deletes critical files from your firmware.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

from this point on, you should never assume that homebrew is safe.
try to confirm that it is genuine, either by reading news on trusted psp
sites or asking around in forums.

If its up for download here, you have the safety of knowing that it has been tested and proven safe

it is an asshole thing to do... i only DL from PSP-HACKS.com... last week pspupdates.com had a bad 1.5 EBOOT... psp-hacks.com was aaaaaallll good : )

yeah, but there is a PSP anti-virus app in the front page, but as IRA said, psp-hacks has the most important/legit/safe homebrew so rest assure that when u dl here, its safe to use :mrgreen:

there's really no telling. from what i can read there are plenty of good
people working on a loader. it's just going to take some time.

but, yeah, if someone comes up with a loader, we should be able to keep
all the homebrew we have and just run it with 2.0

yeah, thats a possibility, but i doubt it, but i read that Sony said that if u play Homebrew on ur PSP, it will void warrenty

tbh ---- sony .... homebrew rules:) and theres sfa that sony can do. tbh they cant really read ur psp and find out what software u have been running i took my psp back to Comet and they changed it over took MY psp out the box and gave me a NEW PSP :D! they sent my old 1 back because it had dead pixels lol, didnt know that was a commin problem but tbh my psp doesnt have any dead pixels now

Ok, sony said if you have homebrew on yoru psp it will void your warranty...

I work on warrantys all day long for Circuit City and sears....thats my job.... Computers, PDA's, Digital cameras, Printers....you basically call to get your warranty becuase your item is broke, i answer....do some troubleshooting with you over the phone, then i send out a request for service and have a box shipped to your house to pick up the item....of course...there are some things you can say that would make me Deny service....
ie : it was droppped...toddler spilled juice on it. etc etc etc ...i use it for my business etc etc etc...

Do the smart thing, dont say anything about having done any mods to your psp...and if for some reason you DO have to send it off to SOny, simply erase any added files.....

make it look like its a brand new 1.50.....thats always best...

and NEVER EVER under any circumstances admit to ANY type of accidental damage....that too will get you a service denial!!

I am sure that their manufacturers warranty ONLY covers Normal Hardware failure....

Now if you have OBVIOUS signs of physical damage...you might as well try...but im sure they wont service it..if this is the case (cracked screen, your psp was run over...you know obvious stuff...) you might as well go buy a new one..

If your psp gets bricked becuase of the software..dont SAY it was becuase of that....give them some lame excuse like, it wont power on anymore...or wont charge...they will ask you probing questions....

the trick is to lie lie lie!!

Once they receive you psp in shop they SHOULDNT go through and retroubleshoot, they may just go in and replace parts....

whoever you talk to over the phone, thats their job (tsing)....so the guys who actually work on it shouldnt have to search for the problem, they should just be changing out certain parts...ie motherboard, keyboard, LCD..whatever it is....

oh and btw, i bought my psp at walmart...excellent return policy....they tried telling me that i have to have 20 + pixels out on my psp before they woudl take it back...

Lol i had a field day with this..

they tried telling me that msg was straight from sony.... so i jumped all up and down 2 managers and the idiot rep who told me that...

basically, when did the 90 day return policy that walmart has in place ever have ANYTHING to do with Sony?

haha i told them that it was there fault, i dont have to worry about if sony will accept it back defective from walmart...thats something they have to take.. lol

If you guys have ANY warranty questions....ask me, make a post, im pretty active and I LOVE eating people who think there warranty's are an insurance...they arent...i love arguing with people about what they usually do and dont cover...anyway, i like helping those with questions too so shoot if you got em!

hahaha I did exactly that. I bricked my psp * not on purpose, mind you * and I eventually called tech, the first guy I talked to had no idea what to do, hung up on me, what an ass. Then I called back again yada yada whole process, told them their fw update said my psp would restart never did, rawr I got mad, lady tried to blame me, i told her ill mention her name if i talk to manager, blah blah send in your psp, we have no idea what to do lmao. Oh it was a very fun day. I enjoy talking to some of them actually, seeing as how I know I broke it and they probably do too but wont admit it.

when my psp got bricked I told them I was playing a game then it froze and then wouldn't turn on. they took it back. I didn't lie I was playing a homebrew game called psp bricker :D:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:
