PSP UMD Emulator V0.8 for PSP V1.50 only

Following in the footsteps of the Fastloader, here is another fine
homebrew app for your pleasure. This time we present you a full featured
UMD emulator, reboot & exitgame tight - you have to turn off your PSP completely
(or crash it :p ) to get it back to original state. This is a semi-final version,
some things are known not to work properly for now (see below).

- play your favourite LEGIT backuped ISOs from the main menu of your PSP !
- full UMD emulation via selected ISO, either for game, video and audio !
- possibility to bypass updater check within the menu
- possibility to remove/redirect updater icon
- possibility to set any regioncode, even for games ...
- CPU speed setup (currently for ISOs only)
- sleepmode works within games now ! See "ToDo" for more
- possibility to redirect flash0: (user config) and flash1: (kernel data)
to memorystick (and no, this is NOT a rip of the lately released MPH application)
- USB is automatically activated within the emulator config
- configuration will be automatically saved and reloaded on app restart
- reload the ISO list by pressing SELECT button
- restart emulator config by pressing START button
- maybe some more which i just forgot to mention :) ...

Now you can use all the nifty functions like versionchanger, pmf replacer or button changer
but you dont need to write to the flash anymore ! Just replace the necessary files on your
memstick while using flash emulation. Hope some ppl will find this useful :D ...

Copy the directories like normal
Put your iso in the iso dir
Select the app and load the iso you want to play
It will load back to the main menu, but don't be fooled, its working
Now pop in a umd if one isn't already in there
The umd will now display as the iso (ie you put the wipeout umd in the drive but you selected the burnout iso it will show as burnout)
Now just select it and play

If you want the UMD disc game to show up again i.e. Wipeout and you no longer want the ISO to load do this:-

Re-load the UMD Emulator, and turn ISO Mode to OFF, then when you select an ISO from your list, it will load up whatever's in the UMD drive instead... (Info by Psycho)

If you get this error: “The disc cannot be started The region code is not correct”

You should set the region code to region free - NEVER MESS WITH IT AGAIN as UMD games are multi region anyway so no need to restrict to one region i.e. europe which results in you only being able to play PAL games..

I like the new setup and all it finally gives a reason to keep the boot files on the disk.

I feel like alot of people are gonna be turned off by this new system and switch over to DevHook even more now.

World Tour Soccer gets to the loading screen before the main menu but then freezes and shuts off so itdoesn't work, I'm going to find my backup copies of ISOs that didn't work and go through them. Fingers crossed for Densha De Go.

Yeah, that actually threw me off at first too... :)

BTW- for those that like to shrink ISOs, there's 2 files we've been deleting that are mandatory for the .8 loader:

EBOOT.BIN in SYSDIR and PARAM.SFO in PSP_GAME. If either of these are missing, the game won't load.

I've also patched it so you can hide the corrupted data icon, download that version here if you want it:

Follow the readme.txt EXACTLY, and you shouldn't have any problems...

I really hope not. Only good thing about this release is Death Jr and Wining Eleven support. 90% of the people i've been talking to hate it. I know almost all of us who work on stuff for the psp hate it. Its more of a hassle to use that fast loader was. Dev hook is gonna surpass fast loader. This still requires a umd and now not only does it not just boot it makes you do mount the iso before loading it adding yet another set to the procress.

I guess since this program is no longer a Loader as such and is an emulator, he's decided to rename it. We'll def see a 0.9 soon as there are some nagging things about this release that need addressing. The folder placement being one of them (though if he adds the UMD dump function from 0.7 he'll probably put the ISO SPLIT folder into the umulator folder to keep the PSP main directory clean).

MOBILE TRAIN SIMULATOR + DENSHA DE GO

works perfectly! For those with 1gig cards. Replace all the largest 500mb .ALL files with the small 160mb .ALL file (DTL.ALL). Some of the tracks will have still screens as a result but not all. I haven't fiddled with it too much but its probably possible to just replace the .ALL files you dont want with blank ones. I havent tried yet since compiling the ISO each time takes a while.

So far the only game I haven't got working is World Tour Soccer.

Yeah, I'm running into this myself. Fortunately I kept all the original ISOs, so I just have to rebuild them...

What he should do is add the functionality of .7 into this. That way you can load them like FastLoader did, or using UMD Emulation if you want/need to. That'd be the best of both worlds...

I'm playing with this right now... I'm just trying to see if I can swap out a piece of video in a UMDVid ISO, rebuild and have it work properly...

Menus would be something else entirely, and of course the issue of encoding your own video... One thing at a time... :)

I'd like to take the video file from a R2 movie, but in a R1 ISO and get it to play (since the region switcher doesn't seem to be working....) (Could be a bad foreign ISO though, I have another one I'll try tomorrow.)

I would say no.. I have both Fast Loader and the UMD Emulator on my MS. If fastloader doesn't load a game I will use UMD Emulator as a second resort..

In this case as Death Jr doesn't work with Fastloader I have used UMD Emulator to run it.

Though I found it extremely boring and removed it from my MS..

Main issue is that the game remains loaded in RAM and in order to get my Wipeout UMD to register again I had to switch it off and remove the battery... But as Humma stated this is a 'semi-functional release'

ok, so this program can redirect the flash to the memory stick right?

so is it at all possible to have it redirect the v2 update to the ms then when you want the v2 web browser put in your ms1. but when you want homebrew put in ms2.......

but this would only be possible if the update writes to the flash and i thought it does, right? if this was possible i think it would be incredible for all the v1/1.5 users.

of course im not completely sure about this but i think it might work.... coming from a guy that doesnt know the first thing about coding :)

Jesus people stfu about v2 web browsers, upgraders and downgraders. If you want to use the internet on your psp update and stfu about it. First off whenever you're never wifi you're likly near a damn pc anyways so wtf use a PSP for the internet. It's so stupid anyways. I'm so tired of hearing about this crap and downgraders. I wish there was like 1 month grace where anyone talking about it would just be banned for that month so we wouldnt have to hear it.

yes i realize that things get repeated alot here but this time it is somewhat feasable because of this umd emulator.

i think there is another program that re-directs to the ms instead of the flash but i dont know what its called.

if no one ever suggested ideas then nothing would ever change. if a programer thought that everyone was happy with the first version of their app. then they wouldnt change it. when we whine about things not working or wanting new things the author some how hears it and trys to fix/upgrade it (sometimes).

UMDE 0.8C is da bomb! Sleep mode works with games on MS!!! Burnout Revenge, and Hot Shots Golf tested so far.

Only 1 other feature to add to make this the perfect loader, UMD dumping!!!!!! Then I can get rid of Fastloader.

UMD Emulater 8.0c doesn't support Breath of Fire III...

I like 8.0c since it provides sleep mode but no BoF3 makes me sad :cry:
