Downgrading from 4.01 to 3.71?

I upgraded to 4.01 because this game couldn't read the saves from an older game... It now works after upgrade.. but some other game cannot load its save because it was 'corrupted', so now I wanna fix it by going back to 3.71 and see if that will fix the problem for both issues.

Is it possible to reduce it back to 3.71?
