I just got my PSP today and I loaded up 3.90 m33-3 onto it to play some homebrew that I hadn't in a while. But while I was playing it, the music would randomly cut out, cut back in, and flicker.

Here are the terms and their definitions so nobody gets confused:
Cut out- The speakers would seemingly die
Cut back in- The speakers would come back to life, seemingly on their own and play the game music
Flicker- Alternate between sound and silence very fast

At first I thought it was the theme that I loaded onto it as removing the theme seemed to solve the problem. But after turning off my PSP and turning it back on, the speakers showed the same behavior.

Now is it the speakers, the firmware, or the theme and can anything be done to fix it?

Nope. Not an emulator. It actually started happening when I put in my UMD for Ys The Ark of Napishtim.

Then I took it out and played Cave Story for PSP (http://cavestorypsp.googlepages.com/) and it still happened. It happened again today.

Could it be the hardware?

And if you have AIM it'd be a hell of a lot easier.

There is a connector that connects the speakers to the motherboard. Check if they are loose.

Also, slim or phat?

And, no I don't have AIM, but shitty MSN

Make yor way to the motherboard, at the bottom there are 2 wires connecting to the motherboard, those are the wires for the speakers so check them.

I followed the tutorial for changing out the LCD screen as a way to look at the motherboard but couldn't find the speaker port.

Is there another tutorial on how to get a look at the motherboard or am I just looking in the wrong place?
