Hi there fellow PSPers
I have a imported PSP-290 GPS module (Yeah the original one fon Japan) and run it on my PSP 3.52 M33 PSP here in Sunny Sweden ;)
First of all i made this thread as a "Question" thread because i didnīt have a clue on how to get it working, but now i most defenetly know how and i even made some guides on "How To" for you guys :mrgreenthumbsup: Im not quite finished, i have one tutorial to make but i have included info untill i made a flashguide, those guides takes time to make so :) but this tut is 100% working :mrgreenthumbsup:

Maby a moderator could move this Guide and make it a sticky ?? and perhaps rename it to: The PSP-290 GPS on a PSP tutorial

Pendragons simple 3 step guide on how to get the GPS module PSP-290 working with MapThis on your PSP ;)

Step 1 - Extracting the needed .prx files from your PSP.
Do you need to extract .prx files to get your PSP-290 GPS module working and dont know how to?
-> Click here for a FlashVideo Tutorial

Step 2 - Generating maps
For my guide you need gmdl 0.4.18a to generata Maps for MapThis on your PSP.
-> Download GDML from here
-> Or just press here for the gmdl0.4.18a.zip file

Some "how to get the gdml tool to generate maps" can be read here
-> Click here for my FlashVideo Tutorial
-> Click me to show a step by step guide.

Step3 - Getting it all together
Download the software MapThis 0.499 beta
-> Click here to download MapThis0499_beta.rar

Information on how to combine .prx files and MapThis0499_beta.rar + maps to get a functional PSP-G.P.S system

How well is it working for you, GPS wise. I'm thinking about getting one myself here soon, since I now have a nice psp holder in my car.

Does this GPS system work anywhere?? I live in the US and was under the impression this would work only in japan but i guess i was wrong. I jus dont want to buy this device only to find out it's not compatiable with my region.

It works everywhere, but you need to have a 1.5 or OE psp and use Map This.
