Every now and then we at PSP-Hacks are tasked with the honorary privilege of reviewing PSP titles. This one in particular is Konami’s Brooktown High, reviewed by PSP-Hacks ninja, Russell Jones.

Comments (30)Japan has been a long time contributor to the world of gaming. The Japanese have given us entirely new genre’s of games, and contributed some of the best titles and spawned some of the greatest franchises to date. Millions of people in the Americas have enjoyed countless hours of such classics as , Final Fantasy and newer hits such as the series of Brain Age titles to recently hit our shelves. And now they introduce to us the latest concept in the simulator world, Dating.
When I first popped Brooktown High into my PSP I didn’t know what to expect. I had never heard of a dating sim before, let alone played one. Published by Konami and developed by Backbone Entertainment, Brooktown High plunks you down into the life of a highschooler trying to keep good grades and pick up as much of the opposite sex as you can manage.
Neubit, notorious Acidmods gang member, known best for his modding skills, is doing something a little different this time ’round… Below is a video demonstrating the PSP-290 GPS peripheral working in conjunction with Deniska’s popular Map This! software!
Certainly shows how the PSP has evolved into quite the portable hand held. Very cool!
Nice wheels, too.
Comments (43)The next time you’re waiting in a 72 hour line up for the next great console (or hand held) you should definitely pick up one of these — the PSP External Power (aka the “Power Night”) from Mr. Battery.
This PSP external mounted battery acts as power reserve to ensure your internal one keeps running, even at the worse of times. Let me play out a little scenario for you… You’re camping out for the PS4, you have a full charge that lasts around 5 hours. 19 hours left; now what? You’re fresh out of battery juice and boredom starts to kick in… Wouldn’t you rather build a couple more Katamaris? Well, with the PSP External Power you would’ve gained an extra ~ 10+ hours — more enjoyment, less dreariness. Double that up, you’re doing great now! It saved me in a similar situation once or twice.
The Power Knight weighs 150g and is designed to clip nicely onto the back of your PSP, as seen here:

Battery life time is approximately 10-20 hours depending on intensity. In addition it provides a nice firm grip on the PSP; in fact, in my opinion, it’s a more comfortable ergonomic-like grip. My only real complaint is having to remove the battery to gain access to the UMD drive. For complete battery specifications you can download this pdf document.
So, think a head of time and pick yourself up some PSP External Power over at Mr. Battery (Canadian customers — click here).
You’ll also notice an assortment of various batteries — for laptops and whatnot, so check out laptopcharge.com (or laptopcharge.ca) for all your battery needs.
