Say what you will, but I always enjoy a flashy PSP mod. Here is psppunk showcasing his tricked out PSP with 7 illuminating colours:

Comments (32)Chalk up another for F00 f00 with video & mod #2 of today… This PSP will be on sale at coolmods.co.uk within the next week or two. Should you dig it, you’ll know where to get it.
The synopsis:
…What I did here is add 2 leds to each of the original led points, mem/power/wifi that can be switched between using the note key. The blue mode has a music lighting mod. I used a modified version of a headphone amp circuit for the pulsing, it works much better than any other circuit I’ve used, the lights are very responsive (not that you can tell in the vid). The Red mode has solid lighting in the triggers an speakers. The colour switching is handled by a PIC microcontroller.

Comments (16)F00 f00, the bearded member of Acidmods, has taken NatyK0’s PSP transforming it into something you wish you had… Check it out –
It’s got: USB charging, custom engraved faceplate, custom jewel, dual nub, music lighting (using a VU meter circuit), and all LEDs switched to blue.

Hey F00 f00, mod my PSP next.
Comments (24)I’ve never heard of “EL Wire” until just recently, and now that I see it put into effect, I recognize its dope ass modding potential.
Check this out… Courtesy of the team that does it best — AcidMods!
Evidently it’s only effective if you have a clear PSP outer shell. Now if you were to combine some EL Wire with the sound reactive LED mod, all those fine PSP ladies would be on your jock. Believe me.

Comments (40)It happened for the Phat PSP, now witness L0rdNiC0’s Slim receive the same sound reactive LED treatment…
Ain’t that snazzy? Not bad for a first timer. More slim mods coming soon, so I hear…

Comments (19)Soon you’ll be left with a pile of PSP Slim parts scattered on your table while you stare and wonder, “how the hell do I put this thing back together?” AcidMods have prepared a step-by-step tutorial detailing the disassembly process. Unless you’re MacGyver, you need these tools:

Side note: they’ve also added LED combinations to VPSM
Comments (11)It didn’t take long after the PSP Slim’s release for both software & hardware hackers/modders to tear the device apart and see what’s up.
We saw the Slim’s disassembly, its firmware get dumped, and as a result — M33’s new custom firmware. The list continues to grow as the AcidMods crew begin pimping the already Sony-pimped version of the PlayStation Portable.
Unfortunately VPSM doesn’t work quite as expected under FireFox; so you may watch the video as a teaser, if you will. Otherwise, Internet Explorer users shouldn’t have problems playing with the web app.
Comments (13)What’s their name? Acidmods. What they like to do? They like to hustle and mod. Watch Kypes step through the complex PSP modding process in this nicely edited time-lapse video.
How captivating; continue doin’ whatcha do. There’s more to come, I kid you not.

Told ya so.

Comments (41)You read about it, now try it! Presenting AcidMod’s very own Virtual PSP Modder.
To quote myself, “VPM, for short, provides a visual representation of what the PSP will look like, should you actually decide to put one or more of these mods into practice. Trigger LEDs, preview face plates, buttons, you name it.” Although faceplates are slated for release in the upcoming expansion pack.

First Expansion Pack will include:

The pimp factor:
