AcidMods Releases Their Dual Nub “Razor X” Boards

greg | March 27, 2008

Hand-held fanatics went wild in mid ‘07 when AcidMods demonstrated their first dual nub modded PSP—the “Razor.” Today its been released and [as of late] redesigned providing for an easier installation; now code-named, “Razor X.” To quote Cyberpyrot, “this is the final razor design which allows you to assemble the razor before soldering, making installation a lot easier.”

Bluetooth PSP Headset Mod

greg | January 14, 2008

Presenting N3M3515 aka 51N15T3R aka Shane-O-Mak’s Bluetooth headset mod for the PSP. And for the record, it works on the PS2 as well.

Requirements:

  • PlayStation Portable w/ original remote
  • USB Box from PS2 Headset (Socom one works)
  • Cardo BTA II Bluetooth Adapter
  • 2.5mm Stereo (3 conductor) plug
  • A Bluetooth headset
PSP Bluetooth Headset Mod

With this mod I’m able to voice chat wirelessly on PSP games like the SOCOM FTB franchise using my Bluetooth headset. In addition to working with the PSP I can also use the same Bluetooth headset to voice chat wirelessly on any PS2. In case you didn’t know if you try to play say SOCOM: Combined Assault (a PS2 game) on the PS3 without this mod you cannot use a Bluetooth headset because the PS2 game is not coded to take advantage of the PS3’s Bluetooth functionality, but with this now you can!

Step-by-step instructions are ahead… Follow the source.

PvP’s Internal USB Mass Storage

greg | January 3, 2008

Update: You may have noticed acidmods.com is currently inaccessible. My good friend CyberPyrot says it’s only temporary and they’ll be back online sooner rather than later.

My only question was, do you still have access to the UMD drive? That was quickly answered and sadly you don’t. So if you’re willing to sacrifice that, then you may add 30GB+ of storage — internally! Otherwise you can rig a similar setup externally with an iPod. Yup, an iPod. Tutorial coming soon…

Nice mod, PVP. And I should also give props to CyberPyrot for his feature in February’s issue of Official PlayStation Magazine.

PSP Magical Security Mod

greg | December 4, 2007

Move over Criss Angel, you ain’t got nothin’ on this! l0rdnic0, member of Acidmods, has the mystifying ability to power on/off PSPs by simply waving his hands over top of the device. Allow l0rdnic0 to demonstrate…

Disabling your original PSP on/off/sleep switch, and replacing with this one, you will no doubt fool your siblings, thieves, or whomever else is unable to keep their hands off your stuff.

Details on the mod; visit Acidmods.

2 Mods 1 PSP

greg | December 2, 2007

Chalk up another for F00 f00 with video & mod #2 of today… This PSP will be on sale at coolmods.co.uk within the next week or two. Should you dig it, you’ll know where to get it.

The synopsis:

…What I did here is add 2 leds to each of the original led points, mem/power/wifi that can be switched between using the note key. The blue mode has a music lighting mod. I used a modified version of a headphone amp circuit for the pulsing, it works much better than any other circuit I’ve used, the lights are very responsive (not that you can tell in the vid). The Red mode has solid lighting in the triggers an speakers. The colour switching is handled by a PIC microcontroller.

And read more here…

PSP Hardware Mod with EL-Wire

greg | November 7, 2007

I’ve never heard of “EL Wire” until just recently, and now that I see it put into effect, I recognize its dope ass modding potential.

Check this out… Courtesy of the team that does it best — AcidMods!

Evidently it’s only effective if you have a clear PSP outer shell. Now if you were to combine some EL Wire with the sound reactive LED mod, all those fine PSP ladies would be on your jock. Believe me.
