Open Keyboard Project: 360 Chatpad Mod for PSP Slim & Phat

greg | September 7, 2008

Equipped with a special version of piKey and the 360 Chatpad custom flashed, l0rdnic0 is keyboardin’ like no other.

Developed by Jean @ ps2dev, this hack/mod is fully functional with the Sony on-screen keyboard (OSK) and Danzeff’s OSK under AFKIM. Currently, for the moment, keyboard-enabled homebrew from ZX-81 doesn’t quite work; however, there is a more suited driver in development.

PSPZ: the PSP Touch Screen Project

greg | August 11, 2008

Well I’ll be damned… Never thought I’d witness a homebrew project of this stature. If the PSP Motion Kit/Driver blew your face off, wait till you see this…

Combining three elements — software, hardware, and Jube’s brain — will create something so mind-blowing you’ll be left staring at the 50 second mark in awe. Introducing Jube’s PSP touch screen project — PSPZ.

Jube mentions the code will be released soon. And as for the hardware side of things, we’re not so sure yet. We’ll keep you posted as PSPZ evolves.

Mad props, Jube.

PSP Phone Hardware Mod

greg | August 7, 2008

Make room iPhone — get a load of this bad boy…

Spotted in our forums it would seem someone has taken liberty in creating their own PSP touch-screen phone. I’m not sure who’s responsible for this righteous mod; nevertheless, it’s noteworthy. So kudos, whoever you are.

There isn’t much detail other than that. More pics available following the discussion thread.

greg | May 20, 2008

Forum member, folklord36, has shared an assortment of mentionable PSP hardware mods…

Shown immediately below is the parallel memory stick mod; adding extra storage without any added bulkiness. That’s two inserted memory sticks with two integrated switches flipping between your two gigabyte-packed sticks.

And another dope one — the PSP [mini] Laptop –

There are a few others — sound reactive LED mods, internal SD card mod — and more images/videos/details following the source link. Good lookin’ out, folklord.

Boost your PSP Volume — the Hardcore Way

greg | May 14, 2008

Grab your screwdriver, soldering iron, and loudspeaker… It’s time to pump up the volume like Christian Slater. The PHT (PspHackersTeam) have compiled a [french] tutorial detailing the necessary steps to do just that…

Passing the source URL through Google Translate will help the non-français speaking folk out. Lets just hope that’s accurate enough. So please, exercise caution should you attempt this mod.
