PSPLife: Game of Life Simulator Released
greg | February 8, 2010
It’s the Game of Life on your PSP… Nah, not Hasbro’s, but that’d be cool too. This is John Conway’s Game of Life, written and released by jojojoris. It’s old school to the max. Like 70’s old school… Some were into pet rocks; others were deep into cellular automaton.

The Rules
For a space that is ‘populated’
- Each cell with one or no neighbours dies, as if by loneliness.
- Each cell with four or more neighbours dies, as if by overpopulation.
- Each cell with two or three neighbours survives.
For a space that is ‘empty’ or ‘unpopulated’
- Each cell with three neighbors becomes populated.

I enjoyed playing this, maybe you will too… It’s oOnkillerOo’s Zock’n Roll. Dice are randomly generated 4 sets at a time and you must strategically place each die to create colour and number combos. Score big, rank online, feel good.
Zock’n Roll v1.20:
- Added an update check while uploading or viewing scores
- Added an Easy Installer written in java by qop
- Fixed the joker function in field 13 (thx to chucklas for report)

Comments (4)Zock’n Roll v1.01 Released; A New PSP Homebrew Puzzle Game
greg | January 17, 2010
This game is actually pretty fun… It’s well crafted and certain to keep your cerebral cortex in check, my word. Introducing oOnkillerOo’s Zock’n Roll. Strategize, plan, and score — that’s the concept…
You start with 4 random dice; they’ll range from 1-4 in red, green, blue, or yellow. Strategically place each die on the 4×4 board. You’re aiming to create combinations of colours and numbers, which are scored differently depending on the particular combo. All possible combinations and their corresponding score can be found under Options -> Help.
Zock’n Roll also incorporates a competitive online high-scoring system for anyone who enjoys making a name for themselves. Can you beat oOnkillerOo at his own game? Oooh — it’s on!

Comments (5)GEMS: A Homebrew Bejeweled Clone for the PSP
greg | January 15, 2010
You’re gonna like this… It’s the simple game of adjacent gem swapping and imploding — line up 3 or more identical gems and boom. Now keep doing that. You may better know it as Bejeweled, but we’ll call this one Valantin’s GEMS.
Hold X (Cross) and use the D-Pad to swap gems. Unfortunately there is no soundtrack, so you’ll want to make use of Music PRX or something similar.

Comments (10)QMixer v1.2 Released
greg | January 15, 2010
Too bad you still can’t scriggity-scratch it up… That’ll hopefully be another post someday. Nevertheless, Qarl and Soulless’ QMixer is pretty dope. We showcased QMixer back in early December; it still looks and feels like this…
…Only now the plates spin and there are plenty of other bug fixes. The read me is now in English too. Take a look — features, functions, controls, how to replace sound effects and theme the interface — it’s all there.
QMixer v1.2:
- Added -> psp-ita’s splash image to be able to participate in the contest.
- Added -> Controls are shown if you press START.
- Added -> Available in three languages: Spanish, English and Italian.
- Added -> Now settings are loaded/saved into a file.
- Fixed -> When going back to XMB without loading any track the program crashes.
- Fixed -> Trying to play plate B without loading a track the program crashes.
- Fixed -> If the mp3 file’s name is 44 characters long the extension “.mp3″ is shown.
- Fixed -> If 4th character before a folder’s name end is a dot, the name shows wrong.
- Fixed -> If mp3 file extension is one of these “.Mp3″, “.mP3″ or “.MP3″ it doesn’t load.
- Fixed -> Sometimes plates never spin.

Comments (6)FFVIII Triple Triad v0.3.1a Released for the PSP
greg | January 12, 2010
It’s Triple Triad all up on your PSP… That’s right: the popular Final Fantasy VIII mini card game has been homebrewized and released for your PlayStation Portable. You can thank the TT-Team for this one.
Triple Triad PSP v0.3.1a is what I’d consider a maintenance release; it introduces improved language support and other code optimizations. Sadly, there is still no online multiplayer. Ah well, maybe next time.
Triple Triad v0.3.1a:
- Revised the code in the Help Menu and Game
- Adding new Spanish language
- Revised code for the choice of initial language

Comments (14)[WIP]: Super Mario Brothers Re-crafted; PSP Mario: The New Worlds v0.02
greg | December 7, 2009
It’s a work in progress; that said, there isn’t much here in terms of playability, but I gotta respect dan369’s effort behind PSP Mario: The New Worlds… Think of this as a tech demo powered by MK2k and InsertWittyName’s PGE — the Lua Phoenix Game Engine… And while you’re at it, have a look at the source too — maybe you’ll learn something.
PSP Mario is the obvious attempt at cloning the original Super Mario Bros. And game play is certainly faster than what the video would lead you to believe. RemoteJoyLite slows things down a bit.
Furthermore, in its current state, there is only one playable level with no brick-busting abilities or power-ups. Remember: it’s a demo. So if you’re lookin’ to get your Mario game on to the fullest, you best download NesterJ or FCEU-PSP and search for the appropriate rom.
