Comments (107)Sony PSP firmware 3.93 is now available via Network Update, and of course, we got it below for ya too. The update seemingly isn’t much; quoting John Koller –
…users of the PSP Internet Radio feature will find 20 new internet radio players to enjoy. The new players are organized into more specific styles of music so that PSP users can easily find what they are looking for and listen to their favorite genres.
And the usual — expanded support for PLAYSTATION Network titles.

Comments (76)Sony has released firmware version 3.90. Those sleek Slim owners now have official Skype support; while us Fat lamers, including myself, only get added support for PLAYSTATION®Network titles. So what, big whoop, wanna fight about it?
You can grab 3.90 from us or via Network Update. You may need to disable “M33 Network Update” if you’re running custom firmware 3.80 M33. That’s located under the recovery console.
Stay tuned for more updates. You know the usual routine — firmware is released, later dumped and decrypted, Skype support ripped out… Yadda, yadda, yadda…

Comments (138)Your virtual lifeguard is back on duty. Breathe life into your seemingly dead Fat or Slim PSP with Dark_AleX’s own CPR device — Despertar Cementerio. As promised — the Pandora battery method for installing custom firmware 3.80 M33.
Installation, usage, and other concerns are addressed in the readme. I strongly encourage you read that over prior to flashing. You will require the Sony 1.50, 3.40, and 3.80 update EBOOTs. Get those below. As well, if you haven’t already, create a Pandora battery and magic memory stick. Tutorials available in our forums — here, and here, even here. Thanks Demonchild.

Comments (42)Update: New for 3.73: Operation of the UMD™ drive has been improved to address cases in which the UMD™ drive occasionally suspends and fails to reload data. Updating the system software to version 3.73 will resolve this issue.
Sony has released PSP firmware 3.73 over at the official PlayStation Japan website. It appears only to be a minor update — stay tuned for more details surrounding that. No doubt 3.73 will be available worldwide very soon.
Furthermore, it’s reported _HellDashX_ has decrypted firmware 3.73 already, which doesn’t really surprise me. The known track record: Sony releases a new firmware; said firmware is decrypted hours or even minutes after its release; a day or two later a new custom firmware is available — if it’s worth it. So with that in mind, perhaps we’ll see one shortly.
Stay tuned!

Comments (133)Update: Oops, forgot to add the download link… Grab it below.
Update: KahnArtizt has confirmed (in the comments) 3.72’s availability via Network Update. I wouldn’t recommend installing it though; by the looks of things, it’s nothing worthwhile.
It would seem Sony has officially released PSP firmware 3.72. Per the moment 3.72 is reportedly available for only Japanese hand helds. I’m unable to confirm whether or not it’s downloadable via Network Update; my PSP is currently at home, and well, I’m not there. Of course the North American side of things remain behind on the update. Check back soon for more details.

Apparently PSP firmware 3.71 is now available via Network Update. Unfortunately I don’t have my PSP with me to confirm; however, I’ll be heading home shortly to check. If it is — you’ll see it here for download.
According to Eric Lempel over at the official PlayStation.Blog, “In addition, we are adding a new firmware update for PSP (3.71) as well, which adds many features that readers of this blog have requested.”
Hrm… Lets hope it doesn’t circumvent the use of Pandora’s Battery. No one has been requesting that! ;)
Stay tuned!
I wouldn’t recommend upgrading if you wish to keep compatibility with homebrew & custom firmwares.
