Psardumper for PSP Firmware 6.30 Released

Grab your PSP, dosey dough, round and round and round we go… You’re no doubt familiar with this scenario — you’ve witnessed it countless times… Sony pushes a firmware update, and a day or two later, it’s dumped & decrypted. This time ’round it only took like 24 hours. So kudos to you hrimfaxi — you’re the shit!
The technical deets:
In 6.30 firmware Sony has add two new types of PRX to protect their executable. But we only spend one day to crack that. Currently there is only psp phat key, but it should be enough though.

DecryptPRX2 cannot handle these new "type 3" prx, so I imported PSPCipher kprx_decrypt function to make this psardumper to work.
After decrypting, a new game key (0xd91680f0) is found in mesg_led_01.prx. It is likely we kicked sony's ass again.
Credit: tpu dumped the IPL, and I found out what happened to the IPL decryptor.
Note: this source has been already covered by GPLv3 becuase of the usage of PSPCipher source.

So how does this help us?
I don’t understand how they can decrypt the IPL to 6.30, yet when it comes to the TA-088v3′s (2k) and 3k’s they can’t dump the pre-ipl process?
anyways, good work on the decryption.
I think it’s because the IPL is software based, but the Pre-IPL is hardware (I think).
You can screw up a file a million times and just re-download it, but screw up the hardware and your stuck ’till you buy another.
The PRE-IPL is a boot-up process used by the PSP to ensure the firmware is legit, They haven’t been able to pull the Pre-IPL (from what I’ve seen anyways) while the PSP is booting, not sure they “haven’t” because they might not of tried, and the pre-ipl is a key sign anyways, it wouldn’t matter if you dumped that key as it wouldn’t effect the flash.
*it would matter how ever if you DID dump it ;)*
The whole reason there isn’t cfw on the newer 2k’s + 3k’s is that the pre-ipl wouldn’t load once the PSP’s internal flash has been rewritten with a CFW because it won’t boot as it’s not OFW but if they decrypted the Pre-IPL then all 2k’s/3k’s would be able to be hacked because they would just re-write the pre-ipl start up process to work with their custom version :\ assuming the PSPgo is under the same security…

doubt it, but I think phats will be able to downgrade again back. All this is the decryptions of ,what I think, games with the 6.30 OFW. Eventually, we’ll be able to play games up to the 6.30 OFW for us M33,GEN, and MHU users.
btw, it will not lead to a custom firmware.

I’m pretty sure people can look at the firmwares files and try to find faults in it that might lead to an exploit / HEN. That’s what I’ve heard at least.

Hello. This is kinda off topic, but i have looked everywhere! Can someone please give me a FULL guide on how to put a NES emu onto my psp? I really need my smb on the go! Also, my psp is fully updated, and I am no good with this kinda stuff!

It’s really easy. First you need to make a Pandora Battery. The process is pretty simple: First, remove your battery from the PSP. Second – and be very careful with this, because it is very easy to mess up – place the battery in the microwave for EXACTLY 15 seconds. This is to short the contacts so you can gain access to service mode.
Once you have done that, just put your emulator files into their own folder inside of PSP/GAME, and you’re good to go! You should be able to run it straight from the menu!

yup you need to do this. Also 15 secs bight not be enough make it 30 sec.

Havent kicked sonys ass at all still no custom firmware for 6.20 on PSP 3000. Sony may have won this…….
