PSP 6.20 SAVEDATA Exploit Released

While my PSPgo is charging, I’ll let you try it… By way of YouTube: Malloxis’ Wololo’s 6.20 SAVEDATA Exploit. The game, or demo actually: Patapon 2. I believe the demo is freely distributable so we’ll host it.
Malloxis mentions an eLoader (Homebrew Loader) will follow.
Update: My PSPgo experience… Copied the “UCUS98732_DATA02″ directory to PSP/SAVEDATA and the demo “UCUS98734″ to PSP/GAME. Copied “h.bin” to the root directory. Started the game and selected Continue, then selected the hacked save, and I’ve been staring at a “now loading” screen since… For quite awhile now… It’s not crashed; I can press “Home” and exit to the XMB. No other keys do anything though. Just sits there… “now loading…” Anyone else have any luck?
Update: I can confirm the exploit works fine on my PSP-2000. Nice job Malloxis, m0skito, n00b81, and Wololo. Thanks for the release too. Not sure what’s up with my PSPgo… It’s just a never-ending “now loading” screen. Others confirm that their PSPgo works though.
Update: Works on my PSPgo! I re-downloaded the Patapon 2 demo from PSN and voila! That worked fine. So I can 100% confirm this exploit both on my PSPgo and PSP Slim. Again — nice job team!

same for me on my psp slim, but that’s hacked and running 5.50 GEN-D3. Maybe that’s why? I’m not sure.
I’m using a PSP phat with 6.20 OFW. I don’t think he released the right save data but who knows. According to the vid though, it should work on all PSP models.
No luck. You can’t do anything with this. It freezes if you press R and pressing select or start functions as normal.

hey greg, i just tried on my psp 2000 ta 88 v2 on 6.20 ofw and 5.50 gen-d3. it worked perfectly, just like the vid, i pressed ‘r’ after loading, and the ‘hello world’ came up, my msn peterli19@hotmail.com.great to see this!

I tested on PSP Go 6.20. Crashes when I press “R”, completes shuts off the PSP. The hello world never shows up.

Ok once I droped that H Bin file into my root it work like a charm
Also you can hold the right button down while it loads to go stright to the hellow world screen or you can let the game load and then press the R button

Yeah its odd actually, I think PSP’s would sell a lot more if Sony would find some way to work in Homebrews, They seem to have games being purely virtual down so why no attempt to work with homebrewers.

Well that fully depends on how far the team who made this exploit are willing to go, If they can manage to get something similar to HEN firmware running thorough this exploit then maybe you will have a hacked 3000.
Just keep a constant look out on the site for updates on their stuff I guess, because so far its not hacked but I can be that’s at very least what has been proven.
Hello, I was wondering, what does this actually do for the PSP?
I understand that in the future an eloader could be used over this to allow for custom firmware, but what actually changes after loading the snowy hello world scene? Nothing seems to actually change.
I did get the hello world scene using a PSP-3000, and I find it to be pretty cool, but i’m actually a PSPGo fan. The reason I bought a PSP-3000 was because there are Japanese games that I want to play that aren’t available on the JP PSN network through Media Go. I have a JP account XD.
Could this allow the Go to play unofficial ISO’s in the future?

The use of it is to test if the GO could be hacked or not, Now that we know it has an exploit we can try to use that to our advantage and possibly make anybody with a Go or newer mobo’s have at very least homebrews.
I’d think that the original CFW’s started of in a similar way?

The exploit is not wasted since the demo cannot be expired and is licence in-dependant (meaning the demo in the zip file runs on “all” PSP’s under 6.20).
As long as you don’t download a potential new OFW then you are fine.

the chap who found this crash CANOT code so he cant do anymore with it. devs who can bring this to a stage where its useful are pissed off with him releasing it so prob wont help it develp into anything now.

Kudos to all who contributed their time making this exploit possible. Sadly though and i wouldnt be surprised if it gets patched by sony a few days from now. They have been suspiciously quiet the past few months and not releasing any f/w updates.

Need help, all i get is a crash.
i’m using a 3000 with ofw 6.20.
i put the game and save files in proper place, i put the h.bin in the mp_root (there are two folders inside that i did not put it into). i start the game, created system data, then loaded the save data. i press the R button and it freezes, followed by a crash 10 sec later. what did i do wrong?

It works on my slim. This is the start of a new beginning for psp world. Soon we will see a homebrew loader, then running iso. I hope sony does not patch this up and move the psn to 6.30 or 6.40.

hey can u give me a detailed instruction to follow? complete noob.. i have also psp go 6.20 firmware
1. Put h.bin at the root of System Storage.
2. Put Patapon 2 demo folder in PSP>GAME
3. Put Patapon 2 savegame folder in PSP>SAVEDATA
4. Boot up game demo from XMB.
5. Don’t bother creating system file when asked.
6. Choose Continue on the main menu.
7. Select the save.
8. When the game has loaded press R trigger.
9. Enjoy Hello World goodness.

but it has 2 folder “100MNV01″ and “101ANV01″
now where should i put the .BIN file? please answer my question cause when it loads and i press the R button my go completely shut down…
Umm, that’s not the root of the folder o.o” The root is the the starting point in the MS.
Here’s an example:

The root’s just the “folder” that automatically opens up. Just place it onto the memory card like this

To those who say it don’t work either you are putting files in the wrong place or may be the file corrupted on download I have psp 3000 6.20 and it works for me.

It is an exploit. That’s it.
It’s not helping anything at the moment. All the Hello World means is that it is able to run homebrew, nothing more. This exploit is also still in its baby stages, we will need an eloader to do anything more on it.
This is not a HEN, only a save game exploit.
So, if you have a PSPgo or a PSP 3000, DON’T UPDATE!

Nice work. My 6.10 GO finally says hello. I was so angry when I downloaded the updated version of Mercury. A demo without DRM crap is just perfect.
Confirmed NOT working on a PSPgo 5.70 OFW
The save file doesn’t show up at all.
If the save file’s folder is renamed to the name of a different save file, so that the PSPgo will see it, it reads as corrupt.
Can someone give me a little step-by-step? I’m doing it right though. I just want to make sure.
Don’t say that it is confirmed not to working just because you can’t get it to work personally.
There are 4 or 5 explanations in the comments above yours, take some time to read them over, in less than 2 minutes you will find a step by step guide.
You need the American version of demo to get it working.
Works perfect on psp 1000 with the demo dl here,but not with a psn store dl(EU) did they do something to the dl to stop it working?

Worked perfectly for me, I did it on PSPGo Firmware 5.70 and on PSP Phat firmware 5.00 m33-6 Worked fine on both, no problems or freezes. Thanks for the exploit wololo and others :)

You cant, its just to show unsigned code can run on firmware 6.20 using save game bugs.
I know its stupid bt what does it take just 2 try it out. Just copy h.bin 4rm chickhen n use this exploit. Check if homebrew enabler work 4 fw 5.03 since there r lots of trouble wit tiff exploit nyways. I know its kinda stupid. Bt just try it out as i dun hav a psp wit me.

This is what I did. I did what he told me. but I never pressed “r” so once I pressed load game.(The file I downloaded) it was a save file and it worked for me. I saw hello world. So its works on My pspGo I can’t freakin wait for the e-loader!!!!
i have the patapon 2 demo downloaded early so if and when sony patches it i will have the license so i can use it like in mercury that got patched

Works here on PSP GO firmware 6.20 when running from external memory.
My PSP Go came pre-loaded with the Patapon 2 Demo in the system’s internal memory. You can leave this alone if you’d like to continue to play the demo.
If you’re having trouble here’s what worked for me. (requires a Memory Stick Micro (M2) card)
On your *memory stick* copy the exploit to your M2 like so:
- h.bin
- PSP/GAME/UCUS98734/
- PSP/SAVEDATA/UCUS98732_DATA02/
1. Start the demo
2. Let it create system data if it asks
3. At title screen select ‘Continue’
4. Choose the game save (Mighty One: Wolo)
5. Press any button at the ‘Hatapon’s March’ screen
6. Click the R button to trigger the exploit
You should then see green text (Hello World) briefly displayed followed by the exploit info against falling snow.
At this point you can hit the triangle button to save a screen shot to the root of the memory stick card.
You can exit the demo by hitting the Playstation button and quiting the game normally.
AWESOME WORK! I can’t wait the homebrew updates to work under this.

works like a charm,no questions it takes 7 mins i think, It says that when u press triangle on the savedata file of patapon 2 and then click information after u click the triangle button on the save data it should say the details and somewher there it says

Worked on my PSP 3000 w/ OFW v6.20 first try. The only thing I did differently was download the Patapon 2 Demo from PSN.

it has been more than a month now. when will the hack be released?
All I get when I load it up is the screen where the Patapons dance when you complete mission when it is empty. I hit “R” and it freezes and shuts off. I have the full game if anyone can help me I could finally get on with it and see it. I have PSP 1001 and 6.20 OFW. Do you really need the demo, cuz the full game turns it into a full game save data. I am also new to this homebrew and hacks and all this stuff. Please help me through this. And yes, I read the comments, but they are mainly PSPgo and PSP2000 through PSP3000.
@Player863, dunno dude but I think you can d/grade with a psp 1000 an’ put custom firmware on it..
anyone else wanna put their two cents in…guy needs a d/grade tutorial…hehe, pandora and magic memory stick?
P.s u need the demo of patapon and half-byte loader..google wagic the homebrew. :P
Put HBL in the root of your memstick..use the hacked save on Wagic/HBl webpage but don’t hope for emulators or iso loaders just yet…simple homebrew only but the developers getting there. :D
I found and installed the HBL, but when I try to start a game (Merc Roid, specifically), it just says “Looping HBL thread” and shuts off. I also tried a couple of others, but they don’t work, either. This is reallllllllllly starting to get frustrating. >:(

it works. i need a downgrader for 6.20 to 3.71 without pandora. so far i havent found anything combatible enough to dg with. my batt is i think new for my psp 1001 and the chip on the batt is like somthing i havent seen. ic04 terminal isnot on the chip.. i se a vf04 but im not sure if cutting far right let will make it pandora. so if anyone can direct me to a dger without pandora tha would be nice.

i downloaded the Patapon 2 demo and the save file
when the game is done loading and it asks to press the “R” button, my psp gets frozen for like 10 seconds then switches off!
any suggestions as to what i should do ?

i think you forgot to put the h.bin file in the root of the psp . remember that no not those mp_root and mln_root folders . it the whole drive .
When I witnessed the exploit, it told me that something was installing. WTF

Totally and utterly awesome!!! It worked fine with me and I have a PSP 3001 with 6.2 Firmware!!! YAY!!! I’ve waited for this since I did a stupid move and updated my psp the day I bought (Not knowing what the hell it even was) it back in January. But wth, It worked!!! Can’t wait for the eloader!!! Keep up the great work guys!!! YOU ROCK!!!

Yeah um… so where is this h.bin file everyone keeps copying to their root folder? Presumably a ChickHEN file, but which one? Where is it? It’s certainly not posted with the links above, which it should be, since it seems to be a relevant file in this process.
