PMPlayer Advance v3.0.9 Released

greg | March 12, 2010

I’ve yet to try it, so I’m not sure whether the added flv business works or not. Feel free to give it a shot and leave your experience via the comments. That aside — Cooleyes has released PMPlayer Advance v3.0.9. PMPlayer is an advanced media player for the PSP; its media capabilities far extend that of the XMB. If you’re a media buff, you’ll no doubt want this.

  17. Easy_E says:

  18. turdferguson92 says:

still wont play a lot of flv files.

plays a few, but VERY few.

  19. koolken says:

init fail. press x to exit

  20. mackoy says:

    to install it

Download first the full/original version here:

    http://pmplayer-advance.googlecode.com/files/ppa.all-en.fw3xx.3.0.0(20090401).rar

then overwrite the original/full version with files inside these update:

    http://pmplayer-advance.googlecode.com/files/ppa.eboot.en.fw3xx.3.0.9(20100309).rar

Place the folder to your GAME folder.

To have a better viewing, you may adjust the CPU speed to 333 inside the application.

    Hope that helps

    • DSpider says:

Just what I wanted to say. You need to “full” version. This is just an update. You’ll know when you see it. It’s got a FONT and a SKINS folder.

PS: For an extended battery life I would set it to 66 MHz. MP4 works fine with that speed (even during explosions and such, action movies, etc). I haven’t tested MKV, 3GP or FLV with this speed because I don’t need to… AVI support (DivX/Xvid) would’ve probably been more useful.

      Cheers.

    • Kentthegreet says:

Mackoy’s suggestion works for me but no Divx support yet. There’s lot of lags when playing video even at 222 processor. Thanks a lot, Mackoy.

  21. geokilla says:

Is the PMPlayer better than the XMB Video Player? I’d prefer it if the battery life and quality remains the same, if not better. I read that the CPU doesn’t need to run at full speed when watching videos on PMPlayer, which should theoretically extend the battery life of my PSP correct?

  22. msc357 says:

    i thought it was 3gp supported… gee Ü

  23. ronel says:

does it work with 5.03 gen-c? what version of psplayer should i download? does this work with psp slim? where do i put the vid files? :D

  24. William says:

Ronel: I havn’t had any luck with 5.03 gen-c on my PSP3000. Havn’t been able to get 480×272 vids working at all so far, can’t find a definitive guide anywhere!! Plenty for other firmwares etc :/

It actually loads ok but then freezes when it gets to the menu and hard powers off the PSP. Video files it finds are in the VIDEO folder off root.

Will let you know if I find any more info out!
