A PSP Mod: VU Meters and Your PSP
greg | March 5, 2010
Cooler than the other side of the pillow is PSP modmaster extraordinaire and his latest VU meter mod. You know him, we know him—he’s The F00. VU meters? Yeah, VU meters! They measure signal levels in Visual Units. You’ll typically find VU meters in audio equipment—an LED or needle display that bomps to the beat.
Pretty awesome, huh? You can see The F00′s other work by giving your mouse a click right here.

Now that’s just nice! Wish SCEA would put eyecandy features in the PSP’s hardware like a VU meter like this one. Great work F00!
this will put your psp battery last within 2 hrs only!!
dumb@$$, led lights only drain about 20 seconds of your battery, whick is why you have 3 led’s already:mem stick, wlan, and power.
That Psp Is Sick!!!
How Much For It???
Ill Go Up To $300
Not interesting. its worthless.
Exactly…
omg thats epic any chance you can post a price and tut on how to set that up
HA! family guy refernce, and btw this mod is pretty dope
IMO, that’s ugly. but that’s just me
ahah
i have a friend that has like that but…the only one lighted is the R and L… not the back!
its worthless still..
No offense but I have seen better mods than this,It’s useless and very ugly,A nice Led mod would be the one that lights up your psp buttons when using it and that when you play music they beep at the rythm. But the UMD door thing is ugly don’t like,I would of just made an internal camera mod on there rather than putting those Leds
your useless and very ugly.
I could’nt care less, hehehe I may be ugly and I don’t care.
Sorry for asking, but isn’t modifying a psp like this illegal, i mean changing the design of the psp from the original made by Sony to that? And of course the psp looks cool
You bought it you own it, (In this case it stands true..) You can mod anything like this sort, you just can’t touch sys files ;)
effin awesome! Can’t wait to see more revisions!
If i had the knowledge i would put it to much better use than that, i mean come on who the hell wants there psp to look like a xmas tree anyhoo
That’s fucking sick. I really need to develop my modding skills. I’d love to add that to mine.
That’s cool. However, like others above have said, the LEDs tend to drain out your battery power. And I’m guessing most PSP owners aren’t taking theirs out just for show.
I personally would love to have that. Its cool and all, but its just another outlet to waste your battery.
[...] is actually double modded: 1) the LED controller board with 4 modes, and 2) F00 f00’s latest VU Meter Mod revision. You like? You can have F00 f00 do it for you. Check the Tailor Made Toys’ product [...]
