psardumper for PSP FW 6.00 – 6.20 Released

Oooh, more good news… Released fresh from bbtgp is a new version of psardumper that, now correct me if I’m wrong, dumps and decrypts ALL (01g and 02g; not sure about 03g) files, including those in the latest 6.00 to 6.20 firmware updates. Couldn’t have happened at a better time, you know, in the midst of all these save game exploits.
Download both psardumper and whatever firmware EBOOT. Copy the firmware EBOOT.PBP file to the root of your memory stick and install/run psardumper like any other homebrew. It will rip through the EBOOT dumping and decrypting what it can.
Now go on, give a standing round of applause for bbtgp who reportedly spent 2 months reverse engineering IPLs, Dark_AleX’s Time Machine, and custom firmware M33 to get these necessary decryption keys. Great work man. Big things ahead, and you know that!

In all seriousness though, this is great news. Everything good seems to be coming along nicely at the moment. Now all we need is a kernel-mode exploit and PSP users everywhere can all enjoy lots of homebrew goodness.
no all they had to do was take the psardumper.prx from the game decryptors so they shouldnt get any credit my friend
Except for the part where they had to reverse-engineer a bunch of code to get it working with new versions. That’s kinda extremely difficult.
no i have dont this all you do to is literally take the prx from the gamedecryptz or whatever for 6.20 and lower i think……. and replace it with the old prx file no coding required
How would you find decryption keys for newer firmware in…older firmware?
The prx from the various game decrypters only contained the keys for a few usermode modules. This program allows for a full decryption of the entire firmware. (Except some 3000 and Go specific stuff)

No, this just decrypts the firmware. Once decrypted, then someone who knows what they are doing can start working on CFW.

This is not a CFW.
It will probably not help you.
It is a psardumper, it does not do anything to your CFW status.
AT last, some REALLY good news!

So this will help the cause as far as getting CFW on the unhackable 2000′s, 3000′s and Go’s? Will this help pspjoke’s exploit?
It will help generating a CFW 6.xx.
but as long as we don’t have cernel access there is no way of installing or running unsigned code, meaning that u wont be able 2 install custom firmware and even if u would, u could not run it!
Check the Steps:
1. Find a loophole –> Run unsigned Code (exploit)
2. Get proper User level access –> allowing HEN to run
3. Cracking the kernel –> Gaining full control
4. Programming a CFW to run on it
5. Finding a way 2 flash the PSP’s internal memory
1. PSPjoke did
2. PSPjoke and other dev’s are workin on
3. Still far away, but crucial for CFW (hardest bit!!!)
4. This is definately the best step 2wards it.
5. If 1+2+3+4 are done it should be easy.

If you don’t know what it is or how it works then it is useless to you….This is for people who want to decrypt OFW so they can start making CFW…You need to know C++ and assembly helps too plus you need a PC with LINUX or CYGWIN and the PSPTOOLCHAIN installed…If that confused you even more it should show how useless this is to you and all the other people confused by it…..

It won’t help u with anything. It’s a firmware dumper, meaning it puts the original Firmware (decrypted) on ur MS!
This is only usefull if u can actually use a decrypted OFW for development purposes.
MEANING: If U can’t run it, don’t bother! It won’t help u anyways!
@OMG: THis has nothing to do with playing games online, only the psn enabler does! And that runs without a PSAR FW dumper!

just wanted to throw props out there. being able to break down new firmware is good , actually better than good right? i mean this could make a lot more possible from what i understand and if the right folks do the right things we could have new cfw. just let me know if i am wrong. also wanted to say i cant wait to see cfw back on the playstation network, you know with full access. happy posting.
If u cant run it, then don’t!! Cause if u r not skilled enough 2 put this dumper on ur PSP then ur definately won’t be able to use the FW-Dumps it generates! Sorry!!
@ GoW: Yea, it’s real good, but its still a long jurney ahead of us. And sony will try 2 make it even longer! But it’s definately a good finish. PSPjoke did the start, now we r missing the middle! :D

One step closer to a 6.20 cfw. This is a big leap for the psp and its players. Once your are able to decrypt a eboot file it can be used to create a cfw. It might be in matter of time before we all upgrade our firmware to a new shiny 6.20 cfw.
ok this is probably a stupid question but couldn’t you just dump 6.20 then get a download for 5.03 and do the cfw process from there?

That’s not how it works.
The jist of it is you have to program some files that make it accessible to run unsigned code and have them load with the firmware seamlessly.
Mixing a CFW with an OFW will only get you a brick.
