No videos, no files — just straight facts… My main man, pspjoke, with the assistance of n00b81, has stumbled upon a vulnerability and has fully exploited it. My word; I’ve tested it myself. A few other fortunate folk have as well.
The facts: this save game user-mode hack works on firmware 6.20 and all PSP models, including the 3000 and the PSPgo. That said — it’s obviously a downloadable title. But I won’t go there… We’re under strict orders that we must honour and obey to keep the balance of power intact. Just know unsigned code is indeed running.
Furthermore, an eLoader is planned; pspjoke is working on it. You can follow this thread for ongoing development and discussion surrounding said exploit.

Hoping that we can find a good exploit for PSP Go soon, I know it’s all about not how, but when. They ALWAYS find something, software can ALWAYS be cracked, especially Sony, the PSP hacking scene has done it for how many years now? This should work on PSP Go yes, but I’m sure now that Sony will see this, they will go over all their games soon, making updates to all of them. If you’ve already bought the game and don’t update though, it theoretically should still work, just like the GTA loader.

There is no point in releasing the exploit now, they haven’t developed anything for it! You will have to wait until a downgrader is released.

I agree. I’m not so sure that it’s a good idea to wait. If the game is necessary to hack the system, then it’s pointless to hold back the info. Whenever the exploit is announced, the game will be pulled. What’s the difference if it’s now or later?

No, pspjoke has no Go, he used a UMD I believe, I too tested the exploit on the Go and can confirm it works a treat.

What they need to do is hack the ps3 then some one upload the exploited game to the usual places then we can upload it to our psp go’s and not worry about sony’s patched game but there i go getting in over my head again.

if we do it like this then everyone who makes the effort could get a chance to download for the Go before anything is patched by $ony
for now though guys it’s a waiting game, lets all just wait for some more progress, so check in every day or two and keep an eye on this one ;)

am i correct in saying that this is very good news especially for psp 2000/3000 owners because once this is released we can still buy the umd in the shops and use the exploit.
I expect sony will patch the game on PSN very quickly onced released so quickly that hardly anyone will be able to get it. Not so good for the GO users but hey its a ray of hope for us all.

just a question, i remember reading back when gen was thinking about updating thier cfw and they mentioned that it would be useless because of how sony changed thier firmware when it hit 6.0 and they said it means that most of the homebrew would have to be rewritten for this new structure im guessing that theory stands with this exploit aswell?

Don’t get too excited, several reasons,
1. Sony is probaly looking over all its games with a fine tooth comb
2. This game may only be/work on the american PSN
3. The second they release this Sony will patch the hell outa everything…
4. This may never be released…
Heres me hoping that it works all regions and a really common game like GTA or LBP or Gran Tur.
1. Sony patching it is only possible with Go Users. The 2k’s and 3k’s can use a UMD of the game which cannot be patched by Sony except in a firmware update.
2. Beaker is not from the US I don’t think and it worked on his PSP.
3. Again, look at #1.
4. It will probably be released after it is patched on the PSN, but of course it may not be released.

They don’t want it hacked. The last time the PSP was hacked (the 3000), people came out with CFW that had ISO loaders making piracy happen easily yet again.
Also, the PSP 2000 is much better than the 1k in my opinion. I owned a 1k before and when I got a 2k I did not look back.

Lan st are a bunch of noobs, one of their member just bleeted out the name of the game which the save game exploit uses. greg you need to stop this shit from leaking out. If its not already too late, lan st mods removed the posts. however it was up for about 3-4 minutes so it gave more noobz and Sony the F’ing chance to see the game. Its still on PSN. Atfer joining the psp hacks forum..after approxiametly 2 hours i recieved a message saying that my IP adress was banned..
Now i am prohibited from acessing the forums and even from acessing the discussion/thread on the new exploit by pspjoke..
What nonsense is this?..I hadn’t anything i was only online for about half an hour..

The whole issue is too many noobs got hold of what game it is…The fact pspjoke posted the save game cmd screenshot with hex code. And greg here gave away too many clues. price range, popular title, its on UMD and PSN etc etc….
It should never have been public any of it to start with. ONLY once a working HEN or Elaoder was made. Then annocent it with the HEN and the game. Giving at least a few thousand PSP Go users the chance to buy the game via PSN. But no FreDDy the noob PM’s every fucken noob the title on lan st, then its spammed in lan.st now the admins don’t even remove the name.
See what happens when too many noobs get involved. Hell I’m surprised FreePlay hasn’t alerted Sony yet like he did with the Mercury exploit the looser!
So lets just get the word out as to what game is needed so that all Go users can purchase the title before it is too late. If I can research and find this thread chances are Sony has seen it as well. ANNOUNCE THE GAME NAME OFFICIALLY PLEASE!

Yes we can do something with it. GO OWNERS CAN SECURE THE GAME SO THAT THEY ARE PREPARED FOR THIS EXPLOITS EVENTUAL RELEASE! I don’t understand all the Go blocking… announcing the game name WILL NOT prevent devs from working on this exploit… as long as no one updates their firmware then there is nothing to worry about & it would allow a lot of Go owners to take advantage of this eventual exploit. I’m all for keeping this info out of Sony’s hands but once the name is leaked in any way there is a definitive time limit to obtain the necessary game. Then for the devs to say it won’t be released until AFTER the title is pulled and patched is just F’ed up and proves that the name being withheld has nothing to do with delaying an eventual patch, but with completely blocking any Go user from taking advantage of this. While everyone is scrambling for this game exploit, I read somewhere that the first line of psp GOs actually still have a removeable battery that’s only covered by a “void” sticker. Is it possible for anyone to explore that option, or are we barking up the wrong tree with that idea?
Considering the PSP 2k (088v3) Are pandora proof as well as the 3k’s one would only assume with common sense that the PSPgo 9/10 would probably have the same security feature as the Other psp’s before its time…

I have a psp 3000 and unfortunatly upgraded my to ofw 6.20 before I knew aboout homebrew so if I buy mgs as a umd as long as I don’t upgrade my firmware when the exploit is reveled will I be able to downgrade my psp to a cfw?

There was no release of the name to give developers time to get the exploit into something useable. Everyone of you fuckers who have a pspGO which is not able to play homebrew/emu/iso can thank the fuckhead who gave out the name.
How are people knowing the name gonna prevent the devs from working on it? The devs (and everyone else who secure the title now) have all the time in the world even after sony pulls and patches the title… all you gotta do is not update to 6.30. I am sure all the devs know what game it is and have the game downloaded by now… or the devs not have their Gos yet? I can’t see how if they develop for the PSP.
uh…because GO can only get downloadable titles…since this is a save game exploit, once sony learns of this, they can patch the PSN network, where GO users can get the game. They don’t need to firmware update.
Duh… and you can’t DOWNLOAD it if you don’t know the NAME! There is already a time limit to get the game, everyday you keep it a secret is another day that people don’t take advantage of an exploitable game available on PSN. Maybe if PSPjoke had a Go he wouldn’t be so concerned with the name being known. If all the devs had Gos and had this game downloaded then why in the world would the game getting pulled or patched make any difference? You really cant be that thick can you? Sony has a team of people who watch the popular ’scene’ sites. Some douchebag posts the name of the game, sony pulls its within a hour, then nobody who owns a go will download it after. Maybe sony doesnt pull the game and instead silently patches it. Its a matter of history, the last exploit had its game pulled and patched as well.

Actually After Burner was pulled because of compression issues (google after burner psp problems)… the real game is Dissidia – Final Fantasy, still up on PSN but for how much longer?
Yes, AfterBurner had serious issues due to compression. The developers notified it. The game with the savegame exploit is still available.
Its still on PSN because thats not the game: Its not Dissidia – Final Fantasy but Ape Academy 2!!!!!!!

Ok, we might not use this exploit, but @ least we know, some people – the right people – have a small loophole in, and they can still develop and keep hacking it. There will be definately some next exploit, and till then they’ll probably have the eloader ready or HEN ready.

Trying to develop new patches and CFW, is just a waste of time, all sony is going to do is just update the PSP system software everytime there is a new “patch or CFW” They said they are going to be more vigilant mainly for FTB3. The game that the exploit was found in is a umd and on the psn. I also know what game that happens to be. But i’m in league with crispy.. errr… pspjoke.
OK so if hacking the psp is a waste of time ,then why not considering of ripping games from umd in a different formant not ISO ,or try making them the same way games for psp go are made when you download them …
All things considered, two things to point out.
1) This article should not have been posted. Sony would be clueless if there was not 20 articles on the web saying the psp go is about to be hacked.
2) Posting all these game names is just going to annoy people. Some people will buy them on the PSN just in case they get patched, then telling them it was some other game later on just pisses off people.

They pulled BOTH Dragon Ball games, I am guessing that these two were the ones used for the exploits. Hope the devs had lots of “time” to work on the exploit (when they already had the game) while sacrificing all Go owners the chance to use the eventual exploit by keeping it secret. but for those of you who give a damn i would suggest this is the one worth watching,, the other save game expliots look to me as if they have used the same method so not too much of a suprise that 3 have popped up in such a short space of time after waiting a hell of a long time.
The other 2 may well haze things abit and stop all trhe pressure that this expliot has recieved. Also i hear psp joke is making some real good progress and unlike alot of other dev’s says that an iso loader is somethig he is interested in.
