PSP Filer v6.6 Released

greg | February 2, 2010

Mediumgauge continues on keepin’ on with a brand new version of PSP Filer. It’s a minor version bump from 6.5 to 6.6. What’s new? Mostly bug fixes and whatnot. We’ll have a properly translated change log momentarily. In the meantime — the in between time — update your memory sticks and file in style.

PSP Filer

Once again, real quick: PSP Filer is a full-fledged file manager, it’s the best way to manage files and directories on the memory stick, UMD, or flash memory when you’re not near a PC. PSP Filer also includes a means of ripping UMDs, playing wav and mp3 files, viewing jpg, bmp, and png formatted images, decompressing zip, 7z, and rar.

PSP Filer v6.6:

  • Filer
    • fixed a bug that folder size over 2GB could not drawn correctly.
  • Audio player
    • fixed a bug Filer was crashed when there was no audio file and pressed up arrow key.
    • fixed a bug Filer was crashed when player is activated at UMD device.
    • added a feature to play in background mode by pressing square key.
    • added a feature to draw tag text in UTF-8 / EUC-JP mode.
    • added a feature to draw play time.
    • added a feature to scroll drawing a long tag text.
  • Picture viewer.
    • added a feature to mark/unmark by pressing circle + square key.

  7. how to add a background????? or thats only for representational purpose???

  8. headsupkid01 says:

Does adhoc file transfer require both people to have the filer program in order to move file from PSP to PSP

  9. DSpider says:

The UMD Ripping feature has multiple problems. On 6.0 it could rip Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 no problem (on CFWEnabler).

And 6.6 seems it ripped my Killzone UMD into two parts:
    UCES-00279.iso.1
    UCES-00279.iso.2

    (on 5.00 M33-6)

    What gives ?

    • DSpider says:

Sorry about that. Seems CFWEnabler was v3.30 (completely forgot to update it) and v6.6 now works as it should on 3.70.

Also, regarding Killzone, I didn’t notice the “cat.bat” file. Here’s what it said:

      copy /b “UCES-00279.iso.1″+”UCES-00279.iso.2″ “UCES-00279.iso”

Once I ran that both parts came together. I don’t know why it was split in half. Probably because the rest of the files were fragmented… Anyway, problem solved.

  10. Zaisem says:

no ones probably gonna read this, but psp filer needs an update because when opening zip or rar files sometimes they need a password to open it and we cant because you cant open it because you cant put the password like irshell where they can let you put a password for rar/zip files
