[VIDEO] “Hello World” on PSP Firmware 6.20
greg | January 24, 2010
For what it’s worth: a blurry glimmer of hope for those with yet-to-be-hacked handhelds… This is FrEdDy’s apparent hack for PSP firmware 6.20:
While this video is definitely more believable than past claims we’ve witnessed, I’d still file this supposed hack under “R” for rumour, or “B” for bullshit… At least until real concrete proof surfaces, like a binary for example, or some code… I mean c’mon, we all know what Hollywood is capable of… Give us something real to work with!

holler. uh well i hope that this is used for something, but i don’t see the point. gen-d3 does everything. but good work on that guy.
Erm, maybe for people with PSPgos. Just a thought.
hahah ohh wow forgot about u guys lool jk not at all I still love my white 1000 till death lool I hope u guys can join on us on cfw side soon !
Lol why post this BS greg? Its proven fake if you read the forum you linked as the source:
I quote the exploit faker
“After the insults received by psp-gen forum members,I stop all my work, and back to work on my lua and C/C++ homebrews, hacking it’s not my way boyz ;-)”
I’d say that sums it up right there. Typical faking troll.
just to add I know the source is lan.st but that doesn’t mean you can trust this BS…..I would only trust a release we can run ourselves!
this is real good job whoever you are, ha. if you let someone work with this like maybe team gen, psn store will be back highest firmware you getting me =)
Well done !!
Yea! That was a very convincing hoax! This “misterious hacker” is very talented.
This is fake, There is a JPEG Fake exploit, all it is, is a picture being switched when the “glitched” image appears, The source greg posted @ the 3rd page in that thread you can see a user has a link to a website dedicated to tell you guys that these things are fake.
Notice how the camera quickly zooms into the text (Which is the wrong font btw for “hello world” Good try thou) The camera focus’s in to the top and not the bottom because it will show you that classic box when viewing an image of Pressing [Start] for control and [select] which then goes away after 5 seconds.
Greg you give fakers sooo much credit.
uh, he didnt give anyone credit, look what he wrote “While this video is definitely more believable than past claims we’ve witnessed, I’d still file
this supposed hack under “R” for rumour, or “B” for bullshit…”
In one video, there is only 1 picture so he wouldn’t have anything to switch to.
The PSP reads EXIF tags in the image header which contain a thumbnail. Apparently firmware 5.50+ reads this thumbnail and uses it while anything under 5.50 does not and shows a mini version of the image instead. EXIF thumbnails can be edited and replaced with image editing software.
after 8 seconds they could have easily edited the video to show the hello world screen.
no they didnt, its no big deal to let the psp show a different thumbnail than the real picture
wait nevermind, what this guy did is he put 2 images in his psp.
one image has the fucked up colors screen looking like its been hacked
and the other image is the hello world screen
all he had to do was press the L button and he made it look like its been exploited
-fake
my words exactly
nah… this could be real , dont get me wrong but if it was real what would you do?
guys.. i cant even believe that u post such bulls**t news, its so easly faked and thats not the first time,… i explained on a comment of this video why its a fake, dont want to post it again……….
Copy, paste buddy.
Copy, paste.
This looks like the bigfoot video of psp hacks.
Blurry and shaky footage of questionable origins and subject? Gotta be real!
what is hello world? is that a cfw?
If it were real, it’d be a demonstration of an exploit, which is the first step to CFW.
OMG, if this tru, tht would mean the GO! AND PS3 will eventually get hacked !!!!
Looks like a fake to me..
i cant wait till the new firmware comes out soon.
i cant play any of the new games out now. the gen-d3 doesnt let my go into the psn and play the new stuff. thanks
lol.Good thing you posted the secound video Greg..
uh..well frankly there doesnt seem to be any kind of difference in my opinion.
in the first video Pause between 0:08 and 0:09, doesn’t and keep moving your cursor back between those two positions..doesn’t that tell you something right off the bat?..Hmm video editing..clear as day at 0:08 the merging of the video for the 6.20 and the tiff exlpoit.. and at 0:09 what seems to be.. guess what..a borderline for a white psp 2000..(Star Wars Editions) lol
In the secound video..frankly the idiot is using two other unidentified images/tiffs (??)..which was not previously used..
Doesn’t that tell you something? *cough* *B* cough
bullshit** Ouch* cough*
Your hopes have been ripped..
Althoughhhhhhhh..the 6.20 firwmare stall does seem impressive but the fact remains that their are other tiffs there other then the ones presently shown in the first video.. so pure speculation now.
Also if you look at 0:09 and 0:10..in the first video.. you can immediately tell something is wrong when a person zooms out of the psp in a split second…lol
also btw pretty low level video-editing skillz.. what were you using windows movie maker? Even low level editors using movie maker can better then this bullshet… next time when you want to release a fake exploit take your time to film and edit.. or copy and paste..whichever lowlife scum method you used your disgraceful..
you know..at the back of your mind..its there..
You know. =]
B))M…this is Stratos signing..
PEACE
watch this and look at his psp name and language
just think D@rk-$mn and dark-alex. sounds fishy. i think this is dark-alex. i assume dark alex speaks spanish from viewing his website and look at this guys psp language. i could be wrong. nice vid

http://wololo.net/wagic/2009/12/27/fake-jpeg-exploit-on-ofw-6-20-by-tontunaspi/
if someone pay me enough im sure i can hack the psp
that’s sort of…not what this site is about…
in my opinion
Fuck it either way, I just swapped my 3000 with 5.50 OFW for a 2000.. You aint gonna tell me after being on 5.50 for like a year they’re finally gonna release something usefull. Pure bullshit
I have a 1000 and a 3000
The 1000 is fat and heavy but hey i dont have to carry round umds and can play homebrew so the 3000 is going on ebay.
So once it is sold you can guarantee the 3000 will be hackable lol
you should watch these two, they look more real that either of those two.
