Ah well, wasn’t meant to be… Sony wins this round.
Yup — Sony found and patched it despite the d-low effort. Maybe it was leaked, who knows… Nevertheless — you can’t win ‘em all, right? Too bad the exploit itself wasn’t released; some, like myself, may still have an old version of Mercury, plus a non-6.20 upgraded PSPgo. Scratch that… It is released. Grab the now patched Mercury save game exploit below.
Note: just to clarify and give credit where credit is due, the read me states Team C&D is responsible for this exploit. Despite that, this release seems to have stirred up a little he said she said type shit; Mathieulh speaks out right here.

Im kinda glad they fixed it. This way they cant keep something from the rest of the ‘scene’ and be all high and mighty with ‘were so cool cause we got hacked go’s and you dont’.
Sony cant react fast enough to get the game patched on PSN, and patch the Firmware at the same time. So maybe they see a boost in mercury downloads, so what.
Should have released it, and then let everyone storm the site.
They claim they showed it off to show people that Homebrew on this model was possible.
They also claim that they were NEVER releasing the 6.10 HEN, because they wanted to take revenge against those who went against their original wishes for the 5.03 HEN being free of ISO-loaders.
I can understand not releasing it, though, because pirates were bombarding these guys with insults after CFWEnabler was made for 5.03. “Haha fagot we can run ISO gamez now u fuckin suck you probably couldnt make one if u tried!”

Well they had to know that, even though they didnt do it, someone would eventually make a iso loader that worked. If someone wants something, and someone else is willing to be the first to do it, someone will.
i agree. like the scene is full of freeloaders who just want free games, when there is a bunch of homebrew out there that is much better than some games released. and maybe they should try and not youtube their beta exploits cuse guess what…. sony looks into it! whoa who would’ve thought. like its plain stupid what people do. like you can post on sites like these that you have a CFW coming out, but to yell to the whole world, now thats plain stupid IMO

Wait I’m not supposed to link to sites like this. Anyways it’s a site dedicated to pirating xbox 360 games.
This guy gets a stolen retail copy of MW2 and a MW2 xbox 360 console off ebay like 2 weeks before the release, dumps the game into an iso, puts it up on megaupload and rapidshare and posts the links up for everyone to download.
Well apparently that site has some MS spys on it. Because the guy who traced the ip off that particular post and had him arrested made an alternate account just to post that he did it.

well thats good for those fagits. why would you hack a psp go, show it to us, brag about it and be fags about it and not even contribute are help out at all? i was hoping for the psp go to get hacked, but u see wat being a fag does? DAX left the scene because of greedy asshats who did nothing but harass devs into making ISO’s able to be run on their precious PSPs. DAX wanted nothing more than to give people quality CFW that would allow them to run a wide range of homebrew programs, and every time a new OFW came out he had to deal with “OMG DAX I CANT RUN THIS GAME I STOLE FROM THE INTERNET CAN YOU UPDATE M33 PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEEASE!”
Don’t even TRY to point the blame at the devs. They released things for people to enjoy FOR FREE and those people who were getting these completely FREE apps and exploits and etc did nothing but bitch about how they wanted more.
The devs have every right to rub the exploits they coded with their OWN free time and resources in the faces of the greedy, lazy, talentless end-users that populate the PSP scene. If you’re going to be a whiny bitch about anybody causing the PSP scene to fall apart, you can look no farther than those people.
And what is it that you have contributed to the “scene”, god I hate that word. We are all nothing but “end-users” as you put it. Sony manufactures the product, we buy it and use it. Some end users have programing skills that others don’t have, those without the programming skills probably have skills that are in some way making life better for those with them. Again I ask what is it that you have given to this “scene” you are so quick to defend(actually you are probably just trying to kiss the @$$ of those who do make contributions, hoping to be somehow repaid by those who do what you can’t)? The one skill I can see that you have is the ability to read minds, how else would you really know what DAXs true intentions were.

The only people who are “PWND!!1″ are the ones who bought a PSPGo expecting the ability to run their stolen games on it, especially after how they treated members of Team Typhoon. 16 GB of internal memory and not a single bit of homebrew to run on it. That’s gotta suck. ;)
I don’t think Team Typhoon held the exploit as ‘revenge’. I mean who cares about the under-appreciative brats. Fuck them, they’re too young to understand anyway. I think they held it so they wouldn’t have to play this stupid cat and mouse game with Sony, and because it’s way too easy for Sony to patch the exploit.
‘Go owners shouldn’t expecting ISOs or HENs at all. Even if an exploit is released, Sony will be one the first to jump on it, releasing a patched firmware and slamming the door on older firmwares again.
DAX quit the scene because sony made a firmware he couldnt hack. Instead of admitting defeat and ultimate FAIL he just went away.

DAX didn’t fail. DAX stopped at 5.00 because 5.01 didn’t had anything major added. 5.02, 5.03, 5.05 and even 5.50 are not that major upgrades.
For DAX it was without question if he could or not go beyond 5.00. I’m sure he COULD but it’s obvious he didn’t WANT TO. He’s been working on CFWs since the “OE” ages (3.03 and up). I think he knows his stuff.

Well 6.10 and 6.20 are adding features that some people might want, perhaps the ability to read comics (i dunno, i read them on my Archos 7 MIT). DAX, I believe, made a post somewhere about him getting tired of people stealing his work and making new firmwares from it and then quit a month later (this is based off what i read in these comments).
I also remember reading that he (dax) said that ‘sony didnt do anything to me so i wont hack the new firmware’, which sounds dumb.
I dont have a GO, but i’ll probably get one when ever they release a hack for it for the sake of not having to carry 4 memory cards around and it being a slightly better design, what with the built in screen protection.

I started on 3.03 OE-A and it was AMAZING at that time. Such good memories… Anyway, that’s why I said 3.03. Sorry I got my facts wrong. Seems PSP-Hacks’ archive even hosts “Dark_Alex’s custom firmware proof of concept”. It dates back to 7/15/06 ! The man had(has) some serious talent.
Maybe the homebrew scene will die soon since Sony will release an app only dev kit which will probably make the homebrew devs migrate to. This’ll be more like itunes now I guess on the PSN store. :(
Well, the homebrew scene is still the best especially when it comes to emulators and some of those apps here and there which are helpful, fun and better than the default or commercial ones. lol

well if your in the same boat as me with 3000 and 2000 models with 6.10 firmware, you should probably stick with 6.10 from now on, i can atleast feel reassured that there will be an exploit or anything else in the future, i am sure it will work such models. well I agree with most of you guy’s both sides, but what they should of done was post it solely on hacking websites (such as this). And as someone mentioned before next time don’t give out the exploit method that was just stupid. I also agree that freeplay was being an arrogant douche, though team typhoon/GEN I think will be the one we rely on in the future. Hell they might give out their exploit since well at this point it’s (deemed) useless. As someone said earlier I use my CFW mostly for Emulator purposes (and personally would love to play them on a better pocketable, and resolution screen). I was also hoping for some cool hacks that took advantage of the Blue Tooth, you know having a a dual analog controller that doesn’t require extensive hacking and soldering skills. While I openly admit that I strictly use the products created by these fine people, and contribute nothing to the end cause. Plus no offense to Free Play his was a basic hack, it’s clearly Typhoon’s that is more interesting, since they had actual homebrew running.

the problem with the go there will never be a widespread hack. any game you exploit will just get pulled. so rather then deal with the go the scene should be working on cfw 6x for older models and Pandora psps. the go is a dead horse on launch. unless someone makes a duel firmware modchip. yes the hack for the 5.50 firmwares is nice but not all games work and i bet sony will make all new games not work by using some 6x only calls.
I personally DON’T care for ISO’s the people post so you can steal the, personally, i would rather be able to play Emulators, and Homebrew. Personally screw the ISO loading stuff and rather try to focus on Running Emulators/Homebrew. Thats my opinion.

well any hack can make a psp load isos sense your braking the protection. but the point is any hacked games to load a exploit on a go will simply be patched and pulled. its going to need to be a firmware hack or a hardware mod. and the lack of any real firmwares due to people thinking they will get anywhere with the go has slowed the scene down.
So basically you have approximatly 1 hour from the release of the exploit to secure your copy of the game from psn, and patch the psp, otherwise sony yanks the game and updates the firmware.

You can download the game on your PS3 with the newest firmware and put it on the PSP Go with firmware 6.10 and use the exploit.
You can download the game on your PS3 and put it on the PSP Go with an older firmware. That way you can still use the exploit.
Uhm no, you cant. If you download the game, which you can, you get the ‘updated’ version which means the glitch was removed/fixed. You cant run it on a 6.10 because it will demand you update to 6.20 before you can play it.
You should probably actually try it before claiming that it can be done.

Im going to say, probably not. When you download something from psn, its locked to your account, and to your psp. Unless someone figures out a way to remove the key, and replace it with your key, then its not going to work.
the only shure way to make a long term hack for any psp is in the hardware. pandora is one they can never fix on a older model. seance the go built in the battery to try and prevent that from happening again. and the 3000 use keys on the service mode. the only real to mod these models in any up datable hacking form is a modchip. they had one for the 1000 before pandora so you could run the 1.50 and new firmwares. but then pandora came out and the modders never looked into chipping anymore. i think it time to go back to that style rather then rely of some software glitch that will quickly be fixed. sony might slow there efforts after Christmas.
