PSP Go FW 6.10 – Is It Hacked?

Good News! – Well Neon says it is and if this video is anything to go by then we may be inclined to believe him. The video shows a PSP Go running a Genesis Emulator and the hack is apparently a kernel level exploit.
Now for the bad new, Neon says he has no plans on releasing the hack, whether he is just playing hard to get is not yet apparent but it will no doubt lead to many pessimists insisting that the cake is a lie.
So what’s your take on things? Do you think we’ll be enjoying 16GB of internal CFW goodness in the near future or is it just wishful thinking?

This could have been faked but it would have been very difficult and potentially expensive. It isn’t likely though because of the difficulty and potential expense.
People should ignore this since he isn’t going to release it so doesn’t deserve any credit for anything. Without anyone being able to do anything with it all he should have credit for is making an crappy video.

Maybe this is just the starting of homebrew-enabled exploit for the PSPGo, just like last time the PSP-3000 got hacked/exploited at 1st starting and enable to play homebrew games..

You can change the firmware version part eaisly, with many programs/ways. vid looks quite legit to me tho.
I’m glad they aren’t releasing it. I would rather someone come up with a fully functioning CFW allowing all the old iso’s and such to work. It would be stupid to release any exploits allowing homebrew to be enabled this early in development.

This wouldn’t be too hard to fake, but he may be withholding his findings until after Christmas (more hackable units in the wild) or until he/someone can make something more useful out of it. Not a lot of good publishing an exploit that gets patched before anyone can use it.
Its strange how all you people think this guy is not releasing it so that it can ‘benifit the scene’ somehow. 6.10 is the current version and if sony patched the firmware after this, then so what. People who update their psp’s the second a new firmware comes out all the time are not the kind of people who are gonna go ‘well i’ll wait till the hack comes out’.

This is obviously not fake guys! How the hell could you make a video on a different psp and have it using the psp go’s save state feature or having that much memory on the other psp? It’s obviously real and just consider the source it’s team typhoon the last time I checked they actually output results. Now, what happened they released a hen? Boom, it was patched in the next update and all that work went down the drain. This is obviously gonna be released just chill they’re waiting for the future firmwares to be released so they can crack those too.
I Don’t own a PSPGo but it’s still fucked up that they decided to make a CFW for the Go and not share it with others. I think they’re just a bunch of assholes who waste every minute of their lives for nothing.

Think about it. Why wouldn’t they release it? The hack probably comes from an exploit that is in a game, and as soon as that information is released, Sony takes that game right out of PSN.

ok guys this is a sad sad day in the psp homebrew that we have treated the dev so poorly its harsh and i say this as being a dev and general user both i fell well all need to just take a step back and look at what weve done and what were doing its not ok any more the sene i started with back in 05/06 when i just got my psp and started to learn to code in cpp it was not just normal to hack your psp and boom you had it that way just to pirate it was to run your own code and learn more than you did and to run games made by others doin the same thing in witch other wise you would not be able to do it just sucks to see what we come to we need to come together as a community and fix things….

I’ve taken some Video/Edit in college, This is not a fake, no way in hell could you superimpose a reflection on an object. Even if you did a green screen on the GO, with a video recording of a 2k or 3k you can’t fake a reflection or a glare that’s just way to much time to pull it off…
Then again if it is a fake, I’d have to shake his hand because this is the best Spoof I have ever seen. I mean quality better then Hollywood, no way.. Congrats to the maker of the video, congrats to the maker of the hack…

If you read the youtube comments carefully, you can see Matiaz suggest it was a game exploit, and the game was obtained from PSN. If this were released, Sony would pull the game and the fun would be over.
I can’t quite make out the icons in the XMB to see what games they have downloaded, and they may have removed the game from their go all together.

He’s smart to not tell anyone, as he said, Sony would remove the game within hours and have it fixed before it goes back up.
We can now see there are ways to hack the Go, but we’re going to need a better hack than games that you download off the PSN in order for this to go public..
If its fake then someone debunk it, and if its real but never to be released then it doesnt matter it just means it IS able to be hacked and only time will tell when this will be made and released for real by typhoon or even someone else who finds out

Actually if you think about it then the torrents would be useless as they would need to be accessible on the Go in the first place in order to run the game and use the exploit. So yeah, the game being pulled from Sony’s servers would indeed kill of the exploit pretty damn quickly.
Can’t you put a game on a MS, or move it from your PC your Go? I’ve yet to waste my money on a Go, so I have no idea if games can only be downloaded directly to some hidden game folder from PSN or just moved about similar to slim and phats.

Ok, so downloading the game off of torrentz is not going to work because the iso will not run on an unhacked go because it needs to be hacked to run! Duh…you need the downloaded copy from the PSN. Now, I’m curious, maybe if we can get said game to run on different psps without having to download it from the PSN. I’ve never downloaded games from the PSN before, but maybe try getting the game to run on an unhacked psp by just file sharing? Like….sharing the downloaded Eboot and security files so the psp will think it was downloaded. That way even if sony patches it, it won’t matter because we can share it. I dunno…I think that should be something to look at. Getting psn downloads sharable between people.
That won’t work. It’s not your fault for not understanding this, as you haven’t downloaded anything off the PSN, but let me enlighten you:
When you download something off of PSN, it then gets a forceful “install” onto the system. The format in which it is installed in not accessable by accessing the memory off a computer. To delete it, you must delete from the Go itself. Obviously, this also means, that there is no way to transfer said installed files. And even if you could, transferring the file to another Go would have no effect, as the only way for it to get installed the correct way, is directly after downloading it via PSN. That event must happen for the installed files to work correctly.
SONY really did their homework with this one. It is certainly capable of being hacked, but within the hour of a hack released to the public, SONY would remove the game needed for the exploit, making it impossible for anyone to use it anymore.
As another commenter said above, we’ll have to wait until a non-game related hack is found/created. Until then, we have no choice but to exhume patience.

Uh, they aren’t -ever- releasing it, because they’re sick of how the scene treats their releases. When the last HEN was released, they specifically asked that nobody would take advantage of it and use it to pirate games, but that didn’t last very long, did it? Soon after, CFWEnabler hit the scene and everybody was back to stealing games.
They aren’t -ever- going to release this because of rampant pirating. This is their way of saying “FUCK YOU” to the people who essentially did the same to them earlier this year. They’ve made this clear a number of times. This is what the scene has come to.
