Wagic 0.9.1 Released: A Magic The Gathering-esque Game for the PSP

Get your geek on with Wololo’s (or WilLoW’s) Wagic the Homebrew version 0.9.1. As always the new version packs a hefty change log that is bound to please the heroic fantasy card collecting masses — new cards, graphics, deck statistics, improved AI, the list goes on…

Wagic 0.9.1 CHANGELOG:
- Around 500 new cards. Wagic now allows you to play with more than 3500 cards out of the box. Wagic allows you to play with cards from Zendikar, Magic 2010, and 30 other expansions. This is not counting all the extra content you can get from the forum at http://wololo.net/forum: Naruto, Final Fantasy, and lots of other user-created sets.
- New shop GUI, with original graphics(see the cool screenshots above). Many thanks to Jhotun for the background image!
- New user interface inGame. It is highly customizable, check the options. Wagic now has some smooth animations, you’ll love the new manapool!
- Deck Statistics in the deck editor now show you how well your deck performs against the AI, and various useful information (average mana cost, etc…)
- New Profile and Theme systems to customize your play environment. Check the Jade Theme! Also come to http://wololo.net/forum to get new themes!
- Various card bug fixes
- Deck Editor improved, you can now rename your decks directly in Wagic without an external text editor
- Improved card graphics (Thanks J and Jeck)
- Parser: new keywords (@damaged, @tapped, deathtouch, initimidate, “other” keyword for targets, “this” keyword for targets, kicker, “X” as part of abilities cost, shuffle
- New caching mechanism, no need for you to setup the “size” of your cache anymore, the cache automatically uses as much Ram as possible.
- New cool Game manual, check it out, it teaches you how to play Wagic!
- Small AI improvements
- More than 20 new AI Decks (Thanks Psyringe,Niegen,Abrasax and everyone who contributed)
- Added an exception plugin to prevent the PSP from crashing in case of a bug. Instead, you’ll get a blue screen. (Thanks to Sakya at ps2dev)
Wagic 0.9.1 KNOWN ISSUES:
- Purple Screen of Despair: If the game has a weird purple look and feel at startup, you just got the Purple Screen of Despair. But don’t trash your PSP yet, there’s hope. We are looking for solutions to this problem, and a few techniques can be found here
- Blue Screen of Death: We recently added an exception handler to avoid your PSP from badly freezing. If you get a blue screen of death, it’s a bad thing because it means you found a bug in Wagic, but it’s a good thing because your PSP didn’t completely crash (so you don’t have to reboot it, and PSP3000 users know how important it is to not reboot their PSPs)

Mmm I’ll check it out, interesting
There will be an unofficial release in a little bit (week or two at least) that changes the games graphics to look like those of MTG and includes all MTG card images currently implemented. Be on the lookout for it once its released. :)
tried it out, seems to be broken. it basically shows 2 really small screens at the top of my PSP that are identical. can’t hardly see anything, so doesn’t really make it playable. colors and graphics seem to be messed up too. running 5.50 Gen-D2

Thats a known bug but it doesnt happen often or to that many people. They are trying to figure out what causes it but cant figure it out yet. Generally though to fix it you can either try saving the game, like in the deck editor but if that doesnt work switching cfw usually solves the problem.
As for the game release, keeps on getting better.

tryed and i got that purple error when running from the xmb but it works fine if i run it with irshell and the save fix is not working for me.
btw i have a 1000 with cfw 5.00m33-6.
I cant run the game on 5.00 M33-6. Runs on everything else for me but if I try it on M33-6, purple screen. This is the case for a number of people, not everyone though, but seems to be moreso on M33-6 than other cfws.

I get the purple screen once in a while, but simply restarting the game solves the issue most of the time for me.

Umm.. because this is. One of the best homebrews out there in my opinion. Now you have to realize this release is without all the official MTG images and mods, which make it a true MTG clone when done.
If you want something else how about you make it or dont play it? I mean, come on dude….
I agree with NyghtcrawleR completely this is an in depth homebrew that is an awesome card game that came out be for most of the kids in here where born. For those saying a geek game Pokemon and that ugio card game is whats geeky. It is. Its Magic the Gathering. Wololo cannot distribute the official images/themes with the release because Wizards of the Coast wont let him. If you looked at the forums you would realize the whole game can be skinned and all the images put in place just like MTG…
Try researching a bit before realizing what youre saying.

IF you liked MTG, then give this a try. It is very close to real and portable on psp. This HB keeps growing. Please also note, that our community keeps getting bigger with each release. People contribute and the more people i show, the more they are into contributing. Nygthcrawler is totally right about how Wagic can look with a little effort (umm, think a link and thank Nyghtcrawler in the forums).
Overall, if it does “suxxor” please point me to another HB that can keep my interest for almost 2 yrs.

I cannot play this game unless I an in ir shell. Otherwise The memory stick keeps flashing and dont even start to load the game and wont let me leave i have to reboot. Why is this? I dont like having to go into shell for one game. but it is nice to listen to mt music while playing Wagic
Sorry so many lines not trying to flood here I am using the ms memory stick where i have the CAT_ homebrew etc where ever i put the wagic file nothing loads just flashing memory stick

Something like that is harder to track down. I would try it without the catagories plugin and see if that works. If not, its possible that some people on GEN have issues becaues GEN doesnt have the MS speed hack and this game is very memory stick intensive. I stick with M33 now anyway and thats not just because of this game, its for everything due to no MS hack.
Yea I thought about rolling back FW. Is the MS speed up that noticeable?
I find it very noticeable on homebrews as well as the whole xmb when youre using the cxmb.

FYI Aircrack can never be perfected unless someone entirely rewrites the Wifi driver, which is never going to happen.
