Nice one.
FIRST! Anyway can’t wait to check this out. One thing though… Does TYL mean anything? Cuz i hate how every snes emulator is called snesTYL. Makes it kinda confusing…
Fail
Fail.
Fail.
What ^they^ said.
Fail.
Fail.
Fail.
TYL (ThunderYoyoLaxer)
Haha FAIL!
Epic Fail
epic fail what? Wow your cool
Lol your not.
DOES NOT WORK WITH PSP PHAT
5.50 GEN-B(FULL)
Can anyone confirm this is working on there PHATTIES with the above CFW?
Doesn’t work on mine. It boots up, but when I try to open the ROM directory it hangs then forces a power down.
Works on PHATTIES with 5.50 GEN-B2.
Works fine on both my PSP-1000 and PSP-2000 with CFW 5.50 GEN-B (Full). The emulators runs smooth and fine. Only tested on one game though which is Zombie Ate My Neighbours.
By the way, this is an awesome release. Nice find and thanks for sharing.
oh yeah zombies ate my neighbors is one of the
snes games man. trying it on my silver slim
with 5.50gen b-2.
emulator*
Also, I use the .smc rom which is extracted from a rar/zip. No idea if compressed rar/zip roms would work.
@nyr2k2
Try disabling some of the plugins see if it works. Haven’t got a clue on what’s wrong on your end since it works fine for me. That is if you’re using also 5.50 GEN-B2 (Full). Hope that helps.
I have an original psp with cfw 5.50GEN-B, i use emulators and stuff but i can’t get this to work, just keeps sending me back to the xmb after i try opening it. The other emu’s i run are for firmware 1.5 so they have the 2 files the res snes and snes%. What am i doing wrong
Works on my phat 5.50 GEN-B (Full). I put it in the GAME5XX if that makes a difference
Tried that no difference.
noob nooobs anyone ever seen revenge of the nerds? the new re make. noobs nooooobs. turn off some plug ins or something what r u doing wrong.
yeah i lov that movie! I was an extra in it too.
So who are you to be calling this guy a n00b, huh? Everyone has to be taught something before they can do it. Nobody’s born with this kind of knowledge.
How do you get this to work with a Phat?
!!! admit i you are a nob unzip file put it in x:/psp/game/the snes game same as always. I am on5.50 gen b-2 full works except when i hit home and exit it freezes up and i got to pull the battery out or wait for it to power off :( also killer instinct still laggs the same to me, Is the performance boost for the extra ram slims? thank you.
Ugh, Jayzen Freeze, you are the epitome of the phrase “fucktard”. How in the royal fuck do you know whether he unzipped or not? Wait, what’s that? You don’t? THEN FUCK OFF AND DIE.
wow people are tards grow up you are obviously dumb enough to not know where a basic homebrew emulator goes that’s pretty dumb to me.
You are a troll. If someone needs help then they should be able to get it and not get bashed by smartass 12 year olds. You should do as he says. Fuck off and die, you fucktard.
try 27 u ass
NERD WARS!!! Yeah Fucktards!!!
your all fucking old timers full of shits!!! LOL
You just proved my point dumb ass kids how hard is it to unrar a file and put it in your game folder?
hey! i’m on your side!
lets fuck PSPsilver (what a d0rk name!)
LOL
silver is right. Person asks for help and your immature ass ranks them down. Fact of the matter is you show what an asshole you really are Jason. You would do well to shut the fuck up. Some time when you need help here you better use a dif neck or we will fuck you in the ass 3 ways to sunday. Have a clue douchebag.
Facebook users are fags
LOL Jayzen
Fail at using sock puppets.
Runs donkey kong country and mario kart sooo much better. Almost perfect. Props.
Wow I am not joking or trying to be an @ss hole but EVERY fucking game plays way slower than my other emulators even mario all stars fucking regular mario laggs even with the cpu at 333 wtf speed improvement
I noticed an improvement in some games namely Mario Allstars. My favorite games like yoshi’s island, Donkey Kong country and Tetris attack are still too slow to play though.
It would be nice if someone would make a new emulator from scratch instead of improving on a ported one that’s so flawed. I appreciate any effort towards Snes emulation though. Thanks
How is Yoshi’s Island too slow to play? It goes to 58 FPS
snes = 3.5mhz, psp = 333mhz
Why can’t a system roughly 100x more powerful emulate the snes.
Emulation is much more than just comparing clock speed.
The SNES has some pretty unique hardware. Even games like Super Mario RPG needed to have its own special processor built inside the cartridge in order to run.
The PSP and SNES has completely different hardware, so most calculations have to be done purely by software.
different hardware dummy (matching mhz to mhz is irrelevant since the cpu, video card and memory is different plus with the fact there is hardware to emulate on the carts themselves such as the superfx… the other things like timing and making it work with the psp hardware which is completely different and because of that some things have to be done in software and not in hardware which makes it allot slower), also asking someone to make snes emu from scratch is stupid as it takes tremendous effort and time to do it, i’d rather have someone port zsnes as its a much better emu
cool…i liked the good old days instead of a psp you played…snes, sega genesis,n64,gameboy… well i am going to check if it works on my slim 5.50genb-2 XD
I still can’t get this to work on the phat. It will send me back to the XMB after launching it. Is there a config setting that needs to be changed?
Thanks.
I get an error .txt in the folder saying that it cannot read the mediaengine.prx. Any help would be appreciated.
What firmware to you have?
Is the change really that big from the old one that it’s a big deal that the phat can’t run it?
It runs normally on phat. Just ran final fight 3 and I had no problems running it. I was also running it on 5.00 m33-6.
How? I’m on 5.00 M33-6 and I can’t open the ROM folder…
Of course, I do have several hundred ROM’s in that folder, but still…
Awesome! Earthbound runs smoothly now.
Super Mario All Star is at full speed too.
DK3 full speed too.
For people who say this emulator is running too slow for them, put frameskip on to 1, after that Mario Kart was running full speed at all times.
Also the games i use are in .zip files, and it works perfect in 5.50 Gen B2.
Not sure why people are having trouble getting this running, but have you tried changing the clock speed in your VSH menu, press Select, i have mine set at 333 mhz on both settings.
in the emulator itself it says its running at 300mhz.
Hope this helps people out. :o)
I figured this out- turns out I had to update to 5.50GEN-B2. I was only running on GEN-B(FULL). After the update, no problems on the phat.
Any ideas why this is having trouble running on phats ?
Oh, no shoutout for Paradigm for the info…
-sniff sniff-
my man, you know its all you
Ive been waiting forever for an awesome SNES EMU like THIS..THANKS! running it on 5.00 m33 without fail..
Going back to my old version. This one shutoff-crashes on me when I try to access my ROMS folder.
Oh shit, now my old version is doing it too… no idea why.
Anybody know how to cure this? It used to happen to me when I had too many ROMS in the folder, but I fixed that… now, it’s happening again. The only change I made recently was adding the game categories plugin.
Try uncategorizing the snes emu.
As in, take it out of a “CAT_ ” folder.
I’ve had that problem before.
I tried that (along with disabling ALL plugins) but it didn’t work.
I solved the problem by just removing more needless ROMS from the directory. Strange I had to do that again though, it’s a problem I’ve encountered before and I thought I had solved already… but I did switch to a new memory card that is probably slower (CR5400 adapter) so that was probably the reason.
Oh and by the way when switching to using Game Categories you just need to delete the INI file for the emulator so that it will be re-created because it references your previous ROM path. That is probably what caused your problem. Then you can continue using it in your CAT_Emulators folder.
It doesn’t seem way faster than the one I was using before. Super Metroid still doesn’t quite run fullspeed on accurate.
BIG PROPS GO OUT TO “master j” several posts up!

Tested and works great on PSP PHAT! Finally Here is the link to the updates mentioned above;

Thanks!
Peace!
Yeah, I’m definitely on B-2 and it doesn’t work for me.
Hey do you got a bunch of plugins running or anything? that can do it. does your psp say geb b full?
I’ve tried disabling all the plugins, that’s not doing the trick.
LuLz
Works fine on psp phat, 5.00 M33-6. Not much faster like I was expecting. :/
This works so well, its playing games like final fantasy smoothly and etc, nice work
Can anyone confirm that Golden Sun 1 and 2 are working without problems? thx
Mortal Kombat 2 now runs better.
Also for noobs to this emu, games that use Mode 7 (the 3D renderer) won’t display properly with the video mode set to “PSP Accelerated”. I have found that “PSP Accelerated + accurate software” is generally the best default mode.
“Man, Super Nintendo box art sure brings back the memories…”
No, it doesn’t.
It’s because you’re a 12-year old.
Now if only we had sleep mode available with this…
Warning snes emulator will crash if you have the macrofire prx plugin, you can diable it then snes will work fine. (psp 3000 gen c or psp 2000 5.0 m33)
