Hi, can someone give me a step-by-step guide how to do this please? I am on 5.00 M33-6 with fat PSPs. Do I need all 3 files above? Which order do I run them in, etc? Thanks a lot guys.

ok this is cool, but it affects me in no way because i haven’t seen a single new game i want to play. Howeve, this is a massive call for dax so much so that people are willing to patch games to stay on DAX’s CFW, which i have, reather than update.

I really don’t see a need to favorite M33 over GEN. Dark Alex has quit for the time being and someone else stepped up to fill his shoes. They are doing a great job so far, the only ones bringing them down (I guess you could say) are the ones unable to read a simple readme.txt file, whether it be in English, French, Spanish, or German (or any other language). To be honest I really don’t care which firmware I have, in respect to M33 or Gen, but this field is somewhat like survival of the fittest, if you will. One has died while the stronger one lives. I don’t particularly see a need for a program like this, except to coddle the little babies afraid of updating.

I really do not see why there is such hate for GEN…. I mean just play the damn games….

I don’t see any difference between 5.00 M33 and 5.50 GEN B2. Both have fully functional iRShell, GEN has PS store. There are no major differences, all you “M33 fur lif lel” people are ignorant.

you didn’t need gen in the first place. ive been playing nba 2k10 and rugby league challenge just using the original decrypter and 3.90 m33-3.

Wooooohoooo! Got the new Naruto Shippuden – Legends Akatsuki Rising working on 5.00 mm3-6, here’s how:

Open the game up in UMDGen (v4) and then goto File> Filelist> Export.., save it on your desktop as Filelist(.txt).

Then goto Explorer> PSP_GAME> SYSDIR, right click EBOOT.BIN and then Extract Selected.., save it to your desktop also.

Now load up EBOOT.BIN Patcher v1.0 and select the EBOOT.BIN file and patch it, no need to make a backup.

Drag the newly patched EBOOT.BIN file from your desktop into the SYSDIR folder where you extracted it from in the first place, it will ask to you overwrite the existing file, do so.

Now goto File> Filelist> Import.., import the Filelist(.txt) on your desktop and select yes to overwrite anything.

Now goto File> Save As> Uncompressed(*.iso) and name it as you please, let the file reconstruct itself and then place it into X:PSP/ISO, WELL DONE! You just got the game working on 5.00 mm3-6.

I assume this works with all the other games, go ahead and try! :D

I held on to 5.00 m33-6 as long as I could but really couldn’t see the benefit anymore so I up’d to 5.50 GEN-B.

This program works great BTW. Alot of steps but well worth it.

dangit i have spent the past week trying to figure out how to get all my 1.5 homebrew and etc. etc. working on GEN until it became perfect for me. NOW WHAT HAPPENS! JEEZ! oh well.

Sigh, if the manual patch found below(you know, the one that uses UMDGen) doesn’t work. I.E: http://www.pspgen.com/tutoriel-game-decrypter-yoshihiro-article-190008-5.html “5.50GEN ONLY” then this program won’t change anything. All it does is what UMDGen did which is replace the EBOOT.bin with the patched version that you make on your PSP.

I have flashed back and forth between M-33 and GENB-2 over and over again, trying to decide if playing the 5.55+ games was worth some of the shortcomings that GEN has. I have GEN working perfectly now, I probably won’t flash back to M33 again…maybe…DAMMIT

i just had to downgrade to 5.00m33-6 again when i found out the gen firmware has no memory stick speed hack… play any racing game on multiplayer with the speed hack, and it will be crazy fast, which is way more fun than any new game at the moment.
this doesnt work on gran turismo, it just makes your opponent go slow if they dont have the speed hack, or normal if you both have it, but games like nfs shift make you go really fast)

i never had a bug the b2 ether jumped ship a wile back. psn works games work all homebrew works even irshell with a simple patch. i believe alot of the fixed isos aruldy worked on m33 at least people reported so. as for fanboys leave em be i knoe some that stil request 1.50 stuff. when 6.00 or higher comes out cfw they will quickly change face whoever releases it.

I’ve noticed that this works on most cfw out right now I also noticed that most of the people posting are still on m33 and those who have upgrade have decided to go back to m33 which to me sounds like m33 just seems like a preferable cfw.
And no I’m not bashing GEN but it seems to me from what I’ve read m33 is simply more stable.

Confirm it is working on psp3000, Chricken R2, CFW enabler 3.6, haven’t try GT5 but dirt2 works for me after i patch it. Thanks, this patcher is so cool.

crap ive been trying to get this to work on my wifes psp 3k. im trying to do pixeljunk. i used both prxdecryp and yoshiros as well(prxdecrpt and yoshiros both cant decrypt the eboot.bin), both with umdgen. but it keeps freezing on the psp 3k and i gotta do the chickhen and cfwe all over again. can anyone tell me how they got it to work? on their psp 3k

i cant wait to try this i had to switch my 2ed psp to that terrible OFW after i bought the Persona 1 remake. thankfully a patch was made so that i could stop scratching my UMD and run homebrew, but that came at the price of my 1.5 only homebrew :(. so long story short thank you for making it so that i can hopefully go back to my other psp that has been picking up dust for these last 2ish weeks.

Has anything like this been made to help with psp demos?

I have a psp 3000 and wanted to check out the Peace Walker demo, but so far there doesn’t seem to be a way to do it without upgrading OFW.

The idea of being a “fanboy” in regards to some particular version of CFW is beyond laughable. That said, I use 5.50 GEN-B2 simply because it’s the best way to get the most out of the PSP at the moment, and I have sacrificed nothing except a memory stick speed hack.

Can this patch method be use on downloaded iso games (that is mean to playable on Gen B2) and re-patch it to play on PSP with 5.00 M33?

I’ve already upgraded to GEN-B2, but don’t really have any complaints, other than my CXMB not working anymore.

I have Hellcats, but I’m not sure if I can be bothered downgrading when the two firmwares, to me, do everything I need them to. I do enjoy M33 a lot more, but for the time being, I might stick with B2 until I feel the need to go back to M33 again.

So, does this not work for phat/1000 psp?

The original iso Eboot.bin Must! be decrypted before it can be patched.

If not the patcher will NOT! work.

Those saying that it’s not necessary to decrypt are using iso’s that were already decrypted for GEN.

I have followed the above instructions several times to the T. When I get to the part where I have to path the EBOOT file it tells me “FILE WAS NOT PATCHED”! I have not missed any steps at all.

I get the eboot from the patched game that using decrypter v2.then patch the eboot using this patcher .but it say the file was not patch 0 byte writen. The game i patch is ys seven n cloudy with a chance of meatball . ANy suggestion

yeah when your decryting it withthe youshiro thingo
make sure you only take out the eboot not everything

and then after that get the decrypted eboot and put it back into the iso and rebuild it
( now its ready for gen) but you need it to be for m33

so close everything and put the new iso into umdgen
now extract everything and then use the patcher it works.
if not try 2 or 3 times.

PSP1000 on 5.00m33-6 trying to play my backup of GranTurismo.
I used UMDGenv4 to extract eboot… then game-decrypter-by-yoshihiro-v4… then this patch. re-built iso with UMDGenv4 and I freeze on the GT logo after the intro. Anyone else having this issue?
