Update: And here it is… PSP Firmware Update 6.10.

But for real, Sony is preppin’ to release their 6.10 firmware update, which is of course aimed towards new PSPgo owners. Check it, from the L-Man himself:
PSP update (v6.10) will be available soon. This is a big update for us in preparation for the launch of PSPgo. New PSPgo owners should make sure to download the update to ensure full compatibility with MediaGo and with all PSP titles. Here are some of the key features we’ll be introducing:
SensMe
SensMe channels is a new music application for PSP that uses Sony’s proprietary 12 Tone Analysis technology to evaluate music tracks that have been imported from Media Go application on your PC to your PSP. The application automatically categorizes the tracks into 12 channels such as “Relax” or “Newly Added”. Check out the walk-thru demo to see how it works.

My suspect for the update so close to the release…would actually be an exploit was discovered.
Just hypothetical. Sony never seems to release an update that quick unless something needed patching up PDQ.
You do have to admit, it is pretty suspicious. Why not just include the update on the system already at launch?

No. The decryption tool came out, what, 3 days ago? It much, much longer than that to create and test a FW update and then distribute it. I’m sure this FW update was in the works before Yoshihiro even began work on the decrpytor.
ok, but with this update will the psp actually support over 999 songs or do I need to resort to lightmp3 with crashes every 5 songs and is slow as hell because no one bothers to make a homebrew music player for psp? b/c the psp sux as anything other than a piss brick

Works on a fat. The OFW6.10 puts a SensMe icon under Music. Click on it and it asks you if you want to download the program. A 14mb eboot plus dat file to an APP folder just like the old GO Messenger. Copied the files to Game and tried it in Gen5.50,but it asks you to upgrade to 6.10 – go figure -
Do you have your Version.txt activated in the recovery menu and set to report as 6.10?

There’s no features they can add to firmware to make games better jackass, only way to make better games is for the developers to make better games. What makes them want put more time into it to make the games better? A better system that people are likely to buy. What makes a system better? varied features that are solid and useful. One device that does things well is better than several. The iPhone’s games are crap, so it is a poor replacement for portable gaming, so this is quite useful. All that it lacks is phone capabilities, but there’s skype, and there’s Wi-Fi everywhere I go, so there’s my solution.

Its is posible first pandorize battery in GEN, pull it off, plug in AC , UPDATE to the 6.10 to see it and then put MAGICK MS and pandorized batery and downgrade? I not have extra pandora battery and i thing this is can be or not work.
i tried it on mine, u can still downgrade ur firmware using pandora jigstick w/ magic ms.

Believe it or not, Sony has a special spy team, that surfs the web (including this site ofcourse) for New PSP CFWs, which they download and tamper with, to create extra high security (no idea how, sure hackers know how) for the new Original Firmwares like 6.00 and higher, in general, we are destroying our piracy days without even knowing this!
How close is GEN or anyone to hacking/releasing a CFW for 5.55 or 6.00 or 6.10? how are they doing and when should I expect anything? also I would like to know what is making it so hard to change into CFW? why is this diffrent from stuff like OFW 5.00 that was cracked almost instantly?

Hi i just recently upgrade my psp’s software from 5.00 ms33 to 6.10. i have games as a cso file on the iso folder. whenever i go to the game menu. it keep on saying there is no game. i’d cut and pasted my games to psp-game folder but still not working.. i tried to uncheck all the properties of the game and folder but still not working.. is it a software issue??need help
