Update: Problems? Yoshihiro’s Games Decrypter V2 should solve it. Give Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 a try now. And if you’re experiencing the black screen problem, change the UMD mode. I’ve had much success using the M33 driver.
We told ya… Now prepare yourself for absolute pandemonium… Nevermind PSP Custom Firmware 5.55 or 6.00; Yoshihiro has released his 5.55 and 6.00 Games (EBOOT.BIN) Decrypter.
In short: use this tool to decrypt the firmware 5.55 or 6.00 EBOOT.BIN from whatever [legitimately purchased UMD] game, build an ISO image using UMDGen with the decrypted EBOOT, and botta bing botta boom — you’re playing on Custom Firmware 5.50 GEN-B.
Instructions included.
All right, all right… I picked up my copy of MotorStorm earlier today and here’s the process I took. But first let me tell you about my PSP:
- 5.50 GEN-B2
- VshMenu is [currently] disabled; I got my reasons. You can no doubt skip a couple steps if you’re using it.
- UMD Mode: M33 driver -NO UMD-
- MotorStorm (US) UMD
The steps:
- Install 5.55 & 6.00 Games Decrypter like any other homebrew.
- Boot into 5.50 GEN’s recovery console by holding R-TRIGGER on boot.
- Go to Configuration -> XMB Usb Device -> change to UMD Disc.
- Enable USB mode from the XMB; copy UMD9660.ISO to your local; open UMDGen.
- In UMDGen open the UMD9660.ISO file.
- Navigate to PSP_GAME/SYSDIR; highlight EBOOT.BIN; right-click -> Extract Selected…
- Save it somewhere; boot into the recovery console again (See step 1); set the USB mode back to Memory Stick (See step 2).
- Enable USB from the XMB again; copy the encrypted EBOOT.BIN to your memory stick root.
- Exit out of USB mode and run the Games Decrypter app.
- Enable USB mode one more time.
- If you closed UMDGen, reopen it and open UMD9660.ISO; browse to PSP_GAME/SYSDIR.
- From the newly created DECRYPTOR directory on your memory stick, drag & drop the unencrypted EBOOT.BIN to the right windowpane in UMDGen overwriting the original file.
- Save the ISO; copy it to the ISO directory on your memory stick.
- You’re done.

Do you need the UMD to run the decryptor?
con2vp1 :) was mostly right this works on iso’s you need 5 50 gen i installed the newest gen b 2 and it plays the games after decryption method my 5.00 m33-6 froze every time i tried. and the gen b-2 started instantly. So you dont need the umd. SO ….. Try not to be a pirate use this for if you own the umd and dont want to use all your battery running a umd all the time + mine makes to much noise the umd drive that is. I just wish there was a 1.50 kernel add on so i can play some homebrew that will no longer start :(
Okay this one works on any Dowloaded ISO too, here are the steps
1. Extract the EBOOT.INI from the any ISO that you needed to run in this example its Motorstorm.iso
2. To extract it use UMDGEN, open the Motorstorm.iso from UMDGEN then extract the EBOOT.INI from there save it somewhere that you can actually find the file usaully on the DESKTOP
3. Then connect your psp to USB MODE then copy the EBOOT.INI file to the ROOT of your memory stick so its like (X:/EBOOT.INI) X means thats your memory stick well it just a sample
4. Then while your in USB mode copy the DECRYTER TO YOUR PSP LIKE NORMALLY (ITS LIKE INSTALLING ANY CUSTOM FIRMWARE)
5. After you have installed the decryter run the program and it WILL NOW DECRYPT THE EBOOT.INI FILE THAT YOU PUT ON THE ROOT OF YOUR MEMORY STICK
6. Then after its done go back to USB mode and delete the EBOOT.ini file from your root directory of your PSP.
& After you have done that locate the FOLDER NAME DECRYPTOR inside that folder there’s the newly EBOOT.ini file that you needed and copy that EBOOT.ini file to your desktop
7. Then after that open up UMDgen again and open up Motorstorm.iso and DRAG THE EBOOT.INI FILE TO THE GAME AND THEN SAVE THE GAME AS .ISO
8. Then finally after you have save the game as ISO copy the new modified Motorstorm.iso to your psp then it should work %100.
Its %100 working for me even Dirt 2!!! just follow my steps!!

i can tell u whats the problem if u see a folder in the ums thats say “update” then u need to modofided the eboot inside this folder. its happen with try to modofided the eboot of fifa 2010 and dirt i think.

Dude didn’t work the first time for some reason tried it all again and worked flawlessly. just double check it.

I specifically bought the games, however the only way to play them is to rip them and patch them in someway because the current custom firmware doesn’t support playing those games through the umd. so don’t go around saying buy the game and support them when someone is trying to make the games playable on their psp. Lastly, try to understand what you’re talking about before you start….
I cant get this to work woth Yugioh Tag Force 4. These are the steps I take:
1)I open the ISO in UMDGen.
2)I navigate to PSP_GAME/SYSDIR/UPDATE.
3)I extract EBOOT.BIN.
4)Place EBOOT.BIN in root of PSP.
5)I run the Decrypter.
6)I take the new EBOOT.BIN from the DECRYPTOR folder and place that into PSP_GAME/SYSDIR/UPDATE and it asks if I want to replace the existing file and I choose to replace.
7)I save is as an ISO and put it on my PSP but when I try to play it it still says unable to start.
Am I doing something wrong?
you need to modify the eboot.bin from PSP_GAME/SYSDIR

Not iR Shell. Get YOUR facts straight. And don’t say anything about the patch because it’s not 100%
irshell is the only reason I won’t run gen. xmb sucks.
I do have bitten the bullet, and installed GEN. Sorry M33 team, but if keepin’ your firmware means not playin’ new games, I’ll pass.

yeah use any UMD/ISO extracter and find the Eboot and put it into the root of your PSP start the Yoshi’s tool and there will be a new folder into your PSP and take the Eboot and put it into the ISO

Dude!! Been trying to get AFL Challenge working with this but I get the menu up but whenever I select Quick Game or Season nothing happens!! How did you get it going? The ISO I have is 149meg but once I run the decrypter etc and put in the new EBOOT the size drops to 54.4 meg so I’m sure this is my problem but it’s got me fucked!

You take the Eboot.bin from the folder then place that in the root of your mem stick. Run the decrypter and press X, Open the Decrypt folder on your Mem stick Decryptor/eboot.bin delete the old Eboot.bin from the ISO image on UMD gen, Replace that (drag and drop the eboot.bin from your psp memory stick, Don’t get confused with the one you used to convert! since it will be the same one..)
replace the eboot.bin save ISO as ISO wait for it to save, drag and drop ISO into ISO folder.
Stare at a blank screen, Thats as far as I got lol.

Some people are probably copying the same file back, like i did three times. Make sure to copy the file in the decrypted folder which should be a little smaller then the original.
tried with naruto but i just got a black screen dunno if i did something wrong
same happened to me but i figured it out. for Naruto you need to do follow these steps.
1)before you extract the EBOOT.BIN from SYSDIR you must export the file list of the original game with UMDGen(File-> File List-> Export) and save the .txt file somewhere.
2)then patch the game as explained in the tutorial above i.e decrypt the EBOOT.BIN using Yoshihiro’s 5.55 & 6.00 Games Decrypter.
3)once patching the ISO import the file list of the original game which you just saved(File-> File List-> Import) then click yes to force it. then save your ISO.
thats what i did and it worked for me. hope i helped

Anyone managed to get this working with Persona yet? Managed to get to the opening video by patching the eboot then using the LBA method with UMDGen of keeping the filelist, but I can’t get any further.
Anything I’m doing wrong?
Assuming you used the right files and forced LBAs, you should try setting the NP9660 or none/’from UMD’ driver, although you obviously need a game on hand for the second one.

PEOPLE HAVE WRITTEN ABOVE it works fine with ISO’s, the original UMD Disc is not needed… you can do this with an ISO image.
That would be illegal. You can only have one game backup and it has to be yours, not someone elses you downloaded. So eboots would be the legal way to do this.

you don’t need the umd- just extract the original eboot.bin using umdgen. Distributing decrypted eboots is illegal because the files are part of a copyrighted work

for those having problems with naruto shipuden and i guess it also works with Gran Turismo.
wen you open the iso to extract the eboot.bin file to patch you need to first select file->file list->export
then wen you have the eboot.bin file pathed insert it as you normaly do in the umdgen and then before you create the iso go to file->file list>import and select the file you previously exported, then create the iso and it´s done, it should work perfectlly

i think you will have to go to GEN
ok. this is how i made it. i didn’t follow the GEN tutorial.
i opened umdgen. i opened lets say grandturismo iso. the game folders appera on the left side of the program. then i choose extract image. i put in a new folder. when it’s done i navigate the folder and choose the eboot.bin file from the SYSDIR folder and put on the memory stick. do not put the eboot.bin file on any folder in your memorystick. then i execute game decrypter. choose “X”. when it’s done i explored the memstick into DECRYPTOR folder and copy eboot.bin on my desktop. then back to umdgen.
i drag and drop eboot.bin from desktop to umdgen SYSDIR folder.it will ask you if you overwrite the file and i choose “yes” then i choose save and i choose uncompressed iso. that’s it. when the iso is done i copy on memstick and run it

Well, I got Persona [US] to work on my 5.50GEN-B PSP 1000
I needed to add an extra step in the rebuild of the ISO
Load the Clean ISO.

Go to File>File List>Export
Save it as Filelist.txt
Replace the EBOOT.BIN
Go to File>File List>Import
Choose Filelist.txt
Select YES to forcing LBAs, then Save.

I believe the issue is all the LBAs get reset when you drag the new EBOOT in which gives a black screen. May want to redo all the games we’ve reported as failed.

Okay, so I need to load my ISO(Tales of VS), export, save it as filelist.txt, now this is the part I’m confused about. Do I use the extract image button to get the EBOOT, or do something to the filelist file?

2. Export Filelist via File>Filelist>Export
3. Export the EBOOT.BIN and decrypt it on PSP
4. Replace EBOOT.BIN in ISO with Decrypted
5. Import File list via File>File List>Import
6. Say YES to forcing LBAs
7. Save and Play
I’m sorry for being stupid, but I need some more help. >_>
When I import the filelist, it says “match the position of the files like filelist?” or something like that…I press yes, then when I start making the new ISO, it says “Next LBA available is 1377 but _______ is 1376!”
I’m guessing that I did something wrong…
I got that once, the issue is I had saved another ISO once before, closing the program and starting fresh (you don’t have to extract the EBOOT and decrypt it again), solved that problem for me.
I still can’t get ToVS working…
Could you or someone else just do it for me?
I really hope ToVS isn’t a non compatible game…
ToVS working with 5.00 m33-6 (fat). Read & follow Analogman steps. Original file size of the iso is 753mb, if after patching, the iso reduced to somewhere around 670mb, something is not right.
Should I do this step with other games such as Gran Turismo or Persona?
I only do this on Naruto Shippuden and it works…100%…

Got Naruto Akatsuki Rising to work. First I tried it on 5.00M33, and all I got was a black screen and wouldn’t load. Then updates to 5.50 GEN-B and now it works. I have an PSP 2000 BTW.

ok. this is how i made it.you will need to have the iso file downloaded from torrents or whatever. i didn’t follow the GEN tutorial.
i opened umdgen. i opened lets say grandturismo iso. the game folders appera on the left side of the program. then i choose extract image. i put in a new folder. when it’s done i navigate the folder and choose the eboot.bin file from the SYSDIR folder and put on the memory stick. do not put the eboot.bin file on any folder in your memorystick. then i execute game decrypter. choose “X”. when it’s done i explored the memstick into DECRYPTOR folder and copy eboot.bin on my desktop. then back to umdgen.
i drag and drop eboot.bin from desktop to umdgen SYSDIR folder.it will ask you if you overwrite the file and i choose “yes” then i choose save and i choose uncompressed iso. that’s it. when the iso is done i copy on memstick and run it

Has anyone got Gran Turismo to work on 5.03 MHU? (Custom Firmware Enabler 3.60). I’m on a PSP-3K and I don’t want to lose my CFW by upgrading the firmware to one that can’t be exploited.

FIFA 10 worked for me just updating to 5.50 Gen B2, didn’t need to use this patcher.

I’m running it on 3.90 m33-3. The only way i could get it to work correctly was to use custom firmware extender and read the iso over usb. I could not get it to work over usb if the iso was also located on the memory stick. To reiterate the only way i got it to work correctly (being able to select season/quick match was to use the custom firmware extender 1.9.2 on 3.90 m33-3 using the usb option

GTA work for me on 5.50 MHU with patch eboot.bin
use umdgen to get eboot from PSP_GAME/SYSDIR/EBOOT.BIN
put the EBOOT.BIN on ur psp ms (x:/eboot.bin)
run the Yoshihiro’s 5.55 & 6.00 Games Decrypter
press x
plugin usb to psp
go to umdgen with the gt.iso open and del PSP_GAME/SYSDIR/EBOOT.BIN
now left click add Existing File
go to psp add x:/DECRYPTOR/eboot.bin
save the iso
(x is the drive of the psp)
I mean Gran turismo (GT) not GTA

I highlighted just the EBOOT.BIN in Umdgen 4.0
(the one below of the UPDATE folder) ,right click it, and click on extract selected, save it to the desktop, patch it on PSP, delete the EBOOT.BIN in the Umdgen 4.0 (Right Click then click on delete)
then Dragged and dropped the patched one back into the righthand screen of Umdgen 4.0
Then saved the .iso to my Desktop, then put into your ISO folder on PSP.
This does work Guaranteed 100%

If you are getting a black screen set your No UMD Driver to M33 and not Sony NP9660.
I was getting a black screen in motorstorm with NP9660 selected, switched it to M33 driver adn booted right up.

GiJoe is a Go! Used full UMD dump. Create iso then go back to UMDgen and use Dummy search and Optimize to repack iso in a smaller size. With all this repacking the iso is fragmented on your hard drive. Try disc defragment before putting on memory stick.

Gran Turismo USA is working great on 5.50 GEN-B2. No LBA fix is needed.
Tested with 5.00 M33-6 with Naruto Legends and Evangelion Battle Orchestra.

How exactly did you manage to get these to work? I did everything as was laid out… even tried forcing LBA and still can’t get it to work on M33-6.
If anyone is looking to get Rugby League Challenge working here’s what I did:
1. I have 3.90 m33-3
2. I also have the M33 Firmware Extender 3.90 plugins (with 390_game.prx and 390_vsh.prx enable in recovery menu. Make sure you edit the vsh.txt, game.txt, pops.txt if you have a slim ie delete fat from in front of ms0).
3. Stream the iso using firmware extender in conjunction with usbhostfs that comes with m33 firmware extender when you download it.
4. Make sure you have your edited iso in the iso folder where usbhostfs is on your computer
5. On the PSP hit note and L to enable the extender and follow prompts to navigate to your iso.
6. Make sure you have m33 driver enabled.
7. Iso will load and you will not have the “i can’t select season or quick match problem” anymore

sorry, i honestly don’t know because i don’t use 5.50 gen. When i googled “psp rugby league challenge can’t select season” it seems that the problem has to do with the memory stick. Even people with the correct firmware/actual umd can come across this problem. The only way i could think of to avoid having the game read off the memory stick was to use a usb plugin. I don’t know if there are usb streaming plugins for gen, but if you can use irshell or any program that can stream isos over usb you don’t have to use my exact method. You are better off waiting for a non complicated solution because the game is not that good anyway (this is coming from someone who plays and loves rugby (union not league but you get my point)).
you need 5.50 GEN-B2 to get maximum compatability.. why are there still so many people complainting about 5.00m33 lol

Which type of PSP are you using, if its a Phat(Fat)100# or the early slim & lite models it could be used with a pandora battery to re-flash the firmware, and so recover from your bricked PSP.
also have you taken the battery out and put it back in again, or plug the power adapter in and retried.

Disgaea 2 isnt working on 5.00 M33-6… Here’s what ive done so far.
Opened UMD with UMDGen v4.00.
Export the Filelist.txt
Copied EBOOT.BIN from PSP_GAME\SYSDIR to the root folder of my memory card
Ran Game Decrypter
Copied EBOOT.BIN from DECRYPTER folder ad replaced the EBOOT.BIN in the PSP_GAME\SYSDIR folder
Import the Filelist.txt
Save as .ISO
Move the ISO to PSP ISO folder
Run the game
And all i get is a black screen…

Hope this homebrew would work on Persona(US), and their upcoming Persona 3 Portable (I’m sure of it that they will use 5.55 in this).
Some games will run on M33, others will not. For example, MotorStorm works fine, Gran Turismo does not.
Gran Turismo USA working PERFECTLY fine on a PSP 1000 with 5.50 GenB-2. No options changed on the recovery menu, everything was left default.

there is a slight possibility I am dumb, but I followed it step by step and I didn’t get the game to work. I am running 5.50 GEN-B (Full). I tried it 3 times following the steps and each time it failed. So yeah, help a brotha out?

Yeah i still need help. i got the dirt 2 iso, run umdgen,extract the eboot file and put in root of memstk. run the decrypter program, grab the decrypted eboot out of folder in root of memstk. then open up umdgen replace eboot with decrypted eboot. run iso? and i still cant get anything to work. im useing gen b full on psp phat 100

No games are working for me, following these steps, tried Dirt 2, GT, and Disgaea 2.
Im on 5.03 Gen-A on a PSP Slim ta088v3 Mobo.
Each time i try to run fixed game, i get the sony logo, and then a black screen, and semi brick. No custom settings or anything. All standerd 5.03 Gen-A settings, UMD driver set to m33.
Even fixed all of the ISOs with the FileList.txt, and doesnt work. Not using a custom verson.txt either.

So far, reading here and other forums, the only report from ANYONE I’ve seen regarding 5.03 working is the motorstorm guy above. Everywhere else it’s people saying that nothing works.
That’s usually because people aren’t doing it correctly/aren’t on the right firmware.
But that’s what I’m asking.
Apparently this is supposed to be compatible with 5.03 GEN-A on “unhackable” PSPs, yet the only reports I’ve seen for this working is Motorstorm.
I’m asking if people have been able to get games OTHER than motorstorm to work on 5.03 GEN specifically.

I’m on a psp 1000, running 5.00 M33-4. I got Motorstorm to run perfectly, no problem, I have tried both EU and US versions of DIRT 2 and GT, and cannot get either to work :( for now I will just have to keep playing Motorstorm, awesome game anyway.
Oh also, I did try analog’s method of exporting/importing the filelists. It did stop the ISO’s from changing size, so I thought it was going to work, but then it didnt. Oh well, maybe I’ll have to go to GEN.
Gran Turismo and Dirt 2 should work if you follow my instructions!!

Make sure you are using the M33 driver NOT Sony NP9660.

I cant get this to work with AFL challenge.
when I save it as an a iso it goes from 150mb to 54mb.
Im not compresing it either.
The game boots up but you cant play a match.

You need to open up in winrar then go to sysdir folder then get the patched eboot.bin and drag and drop in winrar this will then override the other non-patched eboot.bin. By the way if it does not work it’s because it’s supported by this program.
I tried with Motorstorm, i think the most probbably to work, i based form what the tutorial said and con2vp1 and AnalogMan.
It worked fine with 5.50 GEN-B (full)
though with M33 umd mode.

got it to run but it goes into black screen after the autosave and intro movie….what am I doing wrong? i must be missing something small cause it plays the whole intro movie then hangs

For all the people with Persona problems, change it from the M33 driver to the Sony one, as mentioned in one comment. Got my copy working like a treat! So nice to not have to keep switching back from ofw to cfw just for one game I own.

the euro gt is a bad ripp that’s why it doesn’t work the ciso size is 208mb way to small the USA gt ciso size is over 900mb see the problem get the USA iso it works just fine

this is fuckin stupid. over 300 comments and still no one will explain how to do this. i’ve followed all the back wood how 2′s on here and i’m still right were i was 12 hours ago. even the utube video was fuckin weak. why as soon as i add the decrypted eboot file the size of the iso drops by 100+megs every time. what the fuck do u do after you add the decrypted file??????? do u extract the whole iso through umdgen before or after u take and decrypt the eboot???? it says save it as .iso ok super, well when i do that the size never stays the same the sec the decrypted eboot file is added. then when u go to save it in umdgen it gives u 3 options to save the file. what option do i pick? and what do i save the name as???? please help
its so easy to do why so many problems extract the eboot too the root of the memory card use the game decrypter it makes a new eboot in the decrypter folder now on umdg just delete the old eboot replace with the new one save to either iso or ciso i use ciso makes the file smaller thats it very easy to do

the way i got this to work was to use the filelist/lba method explained all the way up there ^^^^
then in the recovery menu i turned off execute boot.bin from umd/iso, an it worked
simples
okay a can send you easy instruction how you can do that ;D
1 :lets go first you need to install the GameZDecryptZ folder in your X:PSP/GAME folder
2 : put your EBOOT.BIN extracted from UMDGEN PSP_GAME/SYSDIR and put it on root of your memory stick
3 : now you can boot game decrypter now you can press X, 5 seconds later it’s done :)
4 : connect your usb cable check on root of your memory stick you have a new folder called decryptor
5 : copy the eboot.bin from the decryptor folder and add the new eboot.bin to the game by using umdgen and rebuild your iso.
for those having problems with naruto shipuden and i guess it also works with Gran Turismo.
wen you open the iso in umdgen to extract the eboot.bin file to patch you need to first select file->file list->export save the txt
then wen you have the eboot.bin file pathed insert it as you normaly do in the umdgen with the other 5.55games and then before you create the iso go to file->file list>import and select the txt file you previously exported, then create the iso and it´s done, it should work perfectlly

I downloaded The Game Decrypter and the UMDGen v4.00
I Opened the Gran Turismo Game Using UMDGen v4.00.
Then I extracted the EBOOT.BIN on the root of my mem. stick.
Then i Run the Game Decrypter to Decode the EBOOT.BIN
after that The New EBOOT.BIN is created.
I Copied the new EBOOT.BIN file and put it on the Gran Turismo Game Using UMDGen
Then i Formatted the Game into a new Gran Turismo ISO File.
Then i deleted the Original Game and placed it with the new GT ISO game.

Everyone who has gotten a game to work should list what game, and what CFW they are running, I think after that it will become clear what works for what. How about it people? Lets get some order here, we can worry about the steps after.
I have a PSP3000 with 5.03 Gen-A (Full) and chickHEN, I’ve been trying for hours to get Persona to work. I’ve done everything in the tutorial, including export/import Filelist.txt and switching between m33 and SonyNP9660 drivers, even putting an UMD in and switching to UMD mode. Everytime I’d get the same Black Screen after the PSP logo. I can’t even exit out of it and have to do a hard reset, which causes me to go though loading 5.03 CHICKEN and then 5.03 Gen-A for HEN(full), which is a huge pain in the ass.
However, I did get another one of the games working using this method, Evangelion Battle Orchestra.
Anyways, does anyone have a PSP3000 with 5.03Gen-A have Persona actually working? On the PSPGen website http://www.pspgen.com/tutoriel-game-decrypter-yoshihiro-article-190008-5.html it lists Persona USA as compatible with the decrypter and since it didn’t say 5.50Gen ONLY for it, but only do the Filelist option, I would assume they got it working for 5.03Gen. Since no one seems to get it to work for 5.03, can someone go to PSPGen’s forums or comments and ask them why they listed Persona as it is and how they got it working? I would love to but I dont understand French.
You need a REAL! cfw of 5.00 with 5.50 txt enabled. (Aka 5.00 M33-6)

Decius, try to find out the whole picture before you post. PSP3000s (and PSP2000v3) can only use cfw using the Chicken exploit on 5.03. Go do some research and read your own post before you insult other people’s intelligence, retard.

It seems that those like me who are using the CFW 3.60 are having a hit & miss situation with certain games, I seem to have black screens from the games I backup as iso’s and try to run, such as DIRT 2 and FIFA 2010, maybe the patch needs some polishing or updates to it which iam sure will improve the overall running of this patch, however it is a very great start, thanks Yoshihiro!! I am not sure but those having the new TA-088v3 motherboard are unable to upgrade to 5.50 GEN-B right? please correct if I am wrong. I have a PSP 2003 with the new motherboard, read in the info of GEN B that it is not compatible.

ok heres how i got this shit to work on 5.50 genb2. once decryter is on your psp. open up umdgen on your pc. select the open tab in the umdgen program. select your iso, go into the folder that says psp_game, once in that folder go into folder that says sysdir. once in that folder right click on the eboot file and choose extract. just have it go to your desktop 4 now. once you get the eboot file plug in your psp to the computer. take the eboot file and copy it to the root of the psp memstk. that’s the very first thing that should open up once u hook ur psp to your pc. once the eboot file is on your psp exit your psp’s usb conection. go to yoshihiro’s decrypter(he’s a pimp for makin this) start it. follow the on screen instruc, after about 5 sec, u should be at your psp menu. conect it to your pc again. once it opens up you should see o folder that say decryptor. before you go into that folder delete the eboot file that you put in the root before you decrypted it. now go back to umdgen and delete the eboot file that u extracted in the first place. (MAKE SURE u delete the eboot file b4 replaceing it with the decrypted one) now take the decrypted file off your psp from the decryptor folder on your psp.put it in the already open sysdir folder in umdgen. now go to the save tab and select the .cso option. name it (example= GT) and click on save. another option pops up and just leave it as it is and select ok. once it’s done doing it’s thing take the newly decrypted cso and put it in your iso folder in the root of your psp’s memstk and enjoy.

Everyone needs to try v2. He should have fixed any errors.
Read:
1.) Download Game Decrypter v2 and UMDGen v4.00 run
UMDGen
2.) Drag and drop the contents of your UMD or, extract the ISO you have.
3.) Go to PSP_GAME then SYSDIR and find a file called Eboot.bin. Put that on the root of your memory stick.
4.) Extract GDv2 and open it until you see GameZDecryptZ. Copy that to GAME.
5.)Run it, then replace the new EBOOT.bin(from the folder DECRYPTED) with the old one.
6.) Put it all into UMDGen, save as ISO.

The new “Naruto Shippuden Legends: Akatsuki Rising” does not work.
All I get is just a plain black screen when I try to run it.
I used V2 of the decrypter on it but still gives me the same result.
I even tried changing the UMD mode and I went through them all.
PSP specs: PSP-2000 5.50GEN-B(Full)
try exporting first then save the text file
then after you decrypt the eboot then import the text file before u save it is locate at the file tab with the file list menu………..

you see the file tools help tab in the top of your UMDGen in the file tab you will see the file list option import/export
you see the size of naruto is 752mb but when u put the decrypt eboot and save you will notice that it shrunk to 600+mb try exporting first follow this step
1. open the iso in UMDGen
2. go to file>file list>export then save the text file
3. get the eboot.bin in psp_game\sysdir\
4. decrypt it using yoshi hunk’s program
5. then over write your eboot.bin on psp_game\sysdir\
6.import the text file you exported a while ago then save it uncompressed
done* hope it helped!!

by far the biggest load of crap ever uploaded doesn’t even work no matter what method you use i did ever single thing ever instruction i even turn off vsh and change to all umd modes and it still does not work with Naruto Shippuden
For naruto to work, before you put the fixed eboot back in, make a .txt export file (In umdGEN go to File>File list>Export), doesnt rlly matter what name you give it. Then put the new EBOOT in, and be4 making it an ISO again import the .txt file you made (File>File list>Import). That should do the trick :)
Still no luck with using V2 of Yoshihiro’s decryptor the black screen remains there after trying to load the game.
what i want to know is what is the”TAG” 4? when i dycripted it(GT) it gave me a tag and a # what is that 4?
Same here, every eboot is now showing a TAG ID of some kind when decrypted.
By the way in case anyone gets the black screen, you dont need to take out the battery, keep the power buton pressed, the green led power button starts to flash, keep the button pressed and your psp will eventually switch off…
and now when i open a file(gt)umdgen jus quits wtf? did the steps and replaced the decrypted file (eboot.bin) in sysdir and umdgen wont save as iso. wont even open the first gt iso i dl’ed in the first place!
For those who are following all the steps correctly and are still getting black screen after the PSP logo(Persona) you have a bad .iso. Re-rip or get the game from another source since some sites have versions that won’t work.
i re ripped several times, not sure whether it has to do with the iso’s though, how come other games i back up work then?
How big is your iso?
I had a 674mb version that would not work even with each step followed correctly then I d/l’ed a 702mb version that worked without any problems.

I guess the decryptor needs some more arrangements it clearly isn’t working with certain iso’s however with other iso’s it works perfectly I guess all we need is some time until this is fixed, other sites also claim problems with certain games which are run using the CFW 3.60 m-33 driver, the 5.50 GENB fw seems to be the most compatible fw so far… however those having a psp-2003 slim with the new motherboard like me or the psp-3000 are unable to install the 5.50 GENB fw as it could brick the PSP.
All we need to do imo is wait….
I cant get this to work woth Yugioh Tag Force 4. These are the steps I take:
1)I open the ISO in UMDGen.
2)I navigate to PSP_GAME/SYSDIR/UPDATE.
3)I extract EBOOT.BIN.
4)Place EBOOT.BIN in root of PSP.
5)I run the Decrypter.
6)I take the new EBOOT.BIN from the DECRYPTOR folder and place that into PSP_GAME/SYSDIR/UPDATE and it asks if I want to replace the existing file and I choose to replace.
7)I save is as an ISO and put it on my PSP but when I try to play it it still says unable to start.
Please! Did I do it wrong? Also there are two EBOOT.BIN’s there is one in PSP_GAME/SYSDIR and one in PSP_GAME/SYSDIR/UPDATE.
You have to go in the psp_game/sysdir folder NOT the update folder, extract the eboot.ini and continue as explained in the tutorial..

3 : now you can boot game decrypter now you can press X 5 seconds later it’s done :)
4 : connect your usb cable check on root of your memory stick you have a new folder called decryptor
5 : copy the eboot.bin from the decryptor folder inside umdgen and rebuild your iso

i tryed it for Disgaea 2 and it didn’t work….it had’nt same size decrypt file with encrypt file! and when i saved it as iso or cso UMDGEN showed me error contain this message “the next lba is (for exaple)568 but …\PARAM.SFO is 567″ and UMDGEN didn’t save file for me… what can i do? plz help me :(

I’ve got my UMDs to work, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, GI Joe, Naruto Shippudden, Rugby Challenge. Can anybody confirm, that GI Joe cut scenes, I’m only having music and subtitles, but no audio from GI Joe characters speaking? Please check, I have recompiled my ISO, and enabled sound in the options for UMDGEN. Thanks
v2 decrypter decrypts madden, madden is now working on my 5.00 m33-6 psp-1000
gran turismo on the other hand still freezing after the PSP logo with a black screen
try disabling all plugins on your psp. To disable, u need to shutdown your psp, just hold the power button up for several seconds to turn it off. then turn it on again at the same time hold the R button, u should see the recovery menu console. go to plugins, then disable everything there. then exit. it should work by now.

For those who freees with a black screen try switching between M33 UMD Driver or the Sony NP9660 one of those two SHOULD work

Just can’t figure this out:S Read all comments, and a couple of other forums, but:
-Can’t get Motorstorm to work. Done everything needed (as posted above), have PSP Phat 5.50GEN-B2, still, when I try to start the modified ISO, it says, “The Game could not be started”.
(yeah, and I tried with 3 kinds of ISO-s).
What am I missing? (done the filelist thingy export – import, using M33 -NO UMD- driver)
Gran Turismo USA, Motorstorm and Persona all worked on a fat ceramic white PSP with GEN B2, just using the instructions (including filelist import-export). Persona needs the Sony driver to run (NP9660), the two racers need the M33 driver.
People should make sure that they are copying the eboot.bin from their DECRYPTOR folder on the PSP, and not the one on the root folder. I did this by mistake a couple of times and ended up getting a “this game can’t be started message”.
That shouldn’t be the problem, but I’ll try that again.
Anyway, do the modified EBOOT.BIN and the original EBOOT.BIN have the same size?
Everyone struggling running Gran Turismo u need 5.5 GEN-A or above to get it to work. I tried every hint on here and nothing worked got black screen. As soon as I upgraded firmware all good :-).
Yep, no use. I carefully went through all of the steps, checked if I really have GEN-B2 (who knows xD), copied the modified EBOOT.BIN back to the ISO, saved it as an ISO, copied it to the ISO folder, but still, “The game could not be started”.

Quick question everyone. For those of us who are doing everything right (do the filelist thing so you don’t have smaller ISO’s, changing drivers etc) COULD THE PROBLEM BE IF (ASIDE FROM HAVEING THE CFW) WE ALSO HAVE THE 1.5 KERNEL INSTALLED AS WELL? I needed the 1.5 kernal when I was 4.00 M33 to run Bookr but have since upgraded to 5.50 GEN B (FULL) on my PSP1000 (PHAT). IF YOU UPGRADE TO GEN B IS THE 1.5 KERNEL EVEN NEEDED? IS IT STILL THERE? No matter what I do, I can’t get naruto to work or GT. The only thing I can think of is I have bad rips but the file sizes seem correct. Would the region setting in the recovery menu matter?
Tried Soul Calibur…. It started tha game but after i picked my character tha now loading thing turned into 1356…. I guess it doesn’t “freeze” it still lets me exit tha game???? Not sure, nice try…. Peace
C-Note – I got Soul Calibur working with out Yoshihiro’s mod. I was using a PSP100 5.50 GEN B (FULL) though. Make sure in the recovery menu you have enabled in the recovery menu the under the option Advanced configuration ‘Execute boot.bin in UMD/ISO’. Also make sure the Plain modules option is disabled. Then try the Sony Driver.

I updated from 5.00 M33-4 to 5.55 GEN-b(full) and GT, Dirt 2, and Motorstorm worked fine, but my favorite homebrews (psprev, pepviewer) did not work for lack of a 1.5 kernel addon for GEN (no luck with LEDA either) So I used Hellcat’s Recovery Flasher to flash back down to 5.00 M-33. Motorstorm stil works for M33 (as it did before the update) but GT and Dirt2 don’t. I’ll live though, Motorstorm is the best of the 3 anyways.

if its the EUR gran turismo try changing your UMD driver either to M33 or NP9660
I’m guessing this would only work on 5.50 GEN-B and not on 5.00 M33-6 cause I tried converting GT, Dirt 2 and Fifa 10 and all of them got the black screen…..

yes, I used exactly the same popsloader files that I used for M33, unfortunately the snes emulator doesn’t work, unless there’s been an update to snes9xtyl, picodrive works, IRshell doesn’t work but you can still get access to the PSN store on 5.50 gen b

If anyone’s still having problems with AFL Challenge make sure to save it as a .cso file, not .iso. It works perfectly afterwards…although I’m not too impressed with the actual game!!!
Yeah, there’s no way I’m upgrading and loosing the awesome features of 5.00 M33. This is a pioneering development though, nice one.
I’m happy to wait for a version of this decoder for 5.00 M33 (or 6.00 M33!).

Regarding the GT black screen problem, it only happen with the european version, i try the US and now is working perfectly!

Are there any more? I won’t upgrade to GEN-B until Tekken6 requires it or can’t be patched for M33-6.

MY PSP:
PSP 1000 (Phat)
CFW 5.50 Gen-B
PROCESS:
(you should already have Yoshihiro’s game decrypter installed on your psp before proceeding with the steps)
1. Open your ISO with UMDGEN.
2. Click FILE go to FILE LIST then select EXPORT, save it as Filelist.txt.
3. From PSP_GAME/SYSDIR you will see a file EBOOT.BIN, right click on that and select EXTRACT ON SELECTED.. save it on the desktop for quick access.
4. Connect your psp to PC via usb cable then copy the EBOOT.BIN file that you’ve extracted from UMDGEN (the one I’ve told you to save on the desktop.) and paste it to the root of your psp’s memstick and disconnect usb mode.
5. On your psp, open Yoshihiro’s Game Decrypter. select X to decrypt the EBOOT.BIN file.
6. Connect your psp again to PC via USB and search for DECRYPTOR folder. open it and drag the EBOOT.BIN file from there and drag it to UMDGEN. (remember to drag and drop it to PSP_GAME/SYSDIR) and overwrite the existing file.
7. Before saving click FILE go to FILE LIST then select IMPORT and select the Filelist.txt that You’ve exported before. when a pops out just select yes to force it.
8. Save it as ISO (Uncompressed)..
*If the game still won’t work, try skipping steps 2 and 7.
*Naruto and Beaterator works with these 2 steps while GT won’t.
*Some say that sometimes it will work with the whole process including steps 2 and 7 but sometimes it doesn’t so just try doing the steps over and over again till it work.

Well, I’m only trying to get Persona to work.
I’ve got Gen B-2, and I’ve tried doing this numerous times in different ways. I’ve tried doing it without the filelist, with it, deleting the old eboot, replacing it. Tried the M33 driver, the other two drivers. Tried making an .iso, tried .cso. Tried the first version of Yoshihiro’s program, tried the second.
All results in the same thing: a black screen.
What am I doing wrong?
