Custom Firmware 5.55 LDX BETA Released *Updated*

I have installed this request and looked all the innards.
This is not 5.55 CFW.
It is 100% 5.50GEN-B2 with some files from the folder VSH of 5.55, which are responsible only for displaying the graphical interface.So I checked the IPL – it is 100% identical 5.50GEN, although it should be from the official kernel 5.55.
So I checked the Pre-IPL – he is also 100% identical 5.50GEN. This loader cfw containing the BIOS file path activation, including the main executable file cfw: systemctrl.prx. Pre-IPL (16kb) basically contains file pspbtcnf.bin.
So it is no way 5.55CFW, but simply a hybrid.
It’s not what you run games that require 5.55 can be no question.The problem it is that he does not decrypt add files that have signed and attached to a particular PSP. They must decrypt, and then pack it with a universal header.
If he did not have this knowledge, about any issue 5.55CFW, and even more so 6.00CFW generally speaking it is not necessary.
And it definitely will not!So it’s all fake!!!

Womp waaa… Don’t download this one – not yet anyway… I just copied this mess of files onto my memory stick, ran the 5.55 LDX installer, and within a moment or two I was holding a nice brick.

No – but for real – good effort. It’s more than a video, I’ll give it that. Keep in mind the team claims this beta and surely that explains my now Pandora-fixed PSP. Back to 5.50 GEN-B2… By the way, I was still able to access the LDX recovery menu by holding R-TRIGGER on boot.
And now that I’m looking at their screenshots (more via source), I notice my LDX Recovery Menu was missing the “Reboot in to official firmware”, “Suspend device”, and “reset device” options.
Furthermore, Team LDX says any game (or ISO) requiring 5.55 or higher does not run, not yet *yawn*… That’s to be resolved in the full release. Anyway, should you feel inclined despite my experience and all that other stuff…

Downloading and using this may possibly render your PSP a brick, and even worse, possibly render your non-Pandora-supportin’ PSP an even bigger brick – a cinder block.

With no access to the memory stick there is NO WAY to test it. The whole idea of BETA releases is so the end user can test it and get back to them about what does and doesn’t work.

-My PSP was bricked. Black screen lights up, but nothing else.
-Recovery menu was strange since it kept all of my selections identical to what they were on GEN-B. When I updeated from M33, this was not the case.

I can and I might do another test. I will flash 5.00 M33 FW to it then try the update again to see if that has anything to do with it.

Just wondered what you meant by running 6.00 from flash and 5.00M33 from your memory stick? are you installing 6.0 ofw and then reinstalling cfw when you want to use it, or are you using some other method where you can keep both sets of files on the psp and switch between them somehow?
I have 6.00OFW installed to my PSP. BUt, I have 5.00M33 on my memory card set so I can run it using the M33 test feature of Despertar del Cementario v8. I will record a video and show you what I mean if you want.

it’s really ez you just need a psp that can run pandora like 1000 and some slims (2000), a pandora battery, and a majik MS.
* 1st make majik MS and pandora(if you dont all read have them).
* 2ed make sure they work.(idk how flash a friends psp or ur own)
* 3ed install ofw 6.00 on pandorable psp
* 4th done :) just use the test cfw option with pandora to run homberw and other cfw things. (works great with pri 5.55 umd back ups)
* note its alot of work so dont do it unless u have a 5.55 umd that worth the trouble(4 me that umd will be the Persona 1 remake).
Mine was Disgaea 2. THe work was worth the pay off that’s for sure. Probably gonna get Persona 1 sometime in the next month.

Ok so this is totally untested since i don’t have a 5.55 game on my stick as of yet its at home,
So i installed the 5.55 CFW (fake or not) then replaced the flash0 with the original from 5.50 GEN-B2 and also reset the flash1 using the recovery tool reset option, now my system firmware version says 5.55 this may be a work around but as i said i cannot test it i will report back later with any news i hope this is useful and i hope it works if anyone can confirm before i do please feel free to do so.

if you really want to play 5.55 games… might as will try to hack the game… i believe it is possible to edit the iso… making it jump from one line to another or making it void certain lines… so then when the iso read it’ll jump or skip certain files such as requirement checks and straight to another line… just like hacking a program…

You can’t play anything that needs 5.55+. NO CFW CAN.
5.50 Allows you to play games online that need PSN access and you can browse the PSN store, and theres a lot more goodies too.
As for GEN-B2, it is a stability update mostly, but it increases compatibility with a lot of homebrew apps out there.
Are you sure? I tested I have all the Games that are listed in the Wiki Compatibility list, they work perfectly fine:

if there to be any exploit told now, then sony will patch it fast on the go. better to wait till late fall to release new exploits/cfw. workarounds are bad to release now for 5.55 and 6.00. wait till sony gives us the go, then a new cfw is useful to do
The Go is already pre-loaded with an FW from Sony. It probably has already been shipped to warehouses. Also, if an exploit is found, it does not mean that Sony can fix it within a week or two. If they fix it, they have to be careful to not affect other features of the PSP.
Also, THERE IS NO WAY THAT A 5.55+ CFW WILL AFFECT THE GO. It probably already comes with an unhackable motherboard and firmware above the exploitable 5.03. So a CFW release will have no effect on Sony patching anything. Sony cannot patch CFW, they patch OFW that has an exploit. We can have 6.00 CFW on older PSP’s and they will not have a reason to patch 6.00 on the Go because the FW will not have any known holes in it.
actually he has a point. it’s entirely possible that sony could quickly update the go to patch any holes that are found. quickly in this case is 1 month or more. it makes sense to not mention any new holes or exploits someone finds till it’s out and in enough quantitys that low version firmware gos are easy to find. Granted a 5.55 or 6.00 cfw probably won’t change anything, but I already wish nobody had posted the medal of honor exploit…. Think about it…..

Ok i know i talk a lot about team m33 and DAX, but i want to be compleatly honest, and fair i stick with team m33 mostly out of habit i appreciate all the hard work from all the CFW teams, but im just a creature of habit. I was still using FW 1.5 with devhook untill GOW came out with FW 3.8 and since devhook only went up to FW 3.7 i had to turn to CFW and devhook practicaly went extinct.Hopefully team m33 won’t go extinct, and we will see a new CFW soon.

5.55 ldx-2 is fake… the reason they suggest to only use 5.00gen-b is so that it can patch the problem that 5.00gen-b have… 5.00gen-b2 already patch that problem..
even the new fake LDX-2 still wont let you play iso… if you decompile that crap… it is still 5.50 gen… it is just a patch with some modify prxs… it is not cfw 5.55.

I tried LDX 2… What I found:
- they cleaned up the installer
- you’re able to create flash0 backups, that’s handy, and it seems to have worked
- a battery safety check; you need 15%+ power to flash LDX
- installed/flashed no problem, but under System Software it displays “5.55 DLXB.” that’s pretty funny
- homebrew works
- tried GI Joe, which requires 5.55+, doesn’t work… so if 5.55+ games don’t work, there’s no point in upgrading, nothing else new. it’s pretty much 5.50 GEN.
But at least someone is tying.
